all my merchant navy friends have quit sailing after marriage,...because wife was cheating with other man.....the worst job of sailor..work 9 months and family time 3 months. its better to stay single in this job.

I dont want to be disrespectful but showing this superficial stuff online is the reason why everyone wants to get into this field, without knowing how much it takes to reach till there. The hard work, the focus ... i don't even have to mention them all. people see cash, travel and think that's about it. Please do show how it feels to clean an accidental hfo spill on the deck or the engine.

Abe saale land jobs pe bhi holidays leaves family event hota hai saal ke 52 weekends plus 30 days casual leave 20 days personal leave ab calculate kar 102 days means 3 months aur uske beech me jab aap kaam pe hote ho toh ghar bhi aate ho

18 yrs in sailing = 9 yrs without being with family, friends and other relatives (considering 6 months u have to be on ship). You also can't see your kids growing.
So first decide money is more important or living with family is more important
And that is the reason I am confused about what to do
@@tauqeerdarve4876 it's all about money. If merchant navy salary has been same like people working as software engineer, banks etc then no one would like to join it. They give money for the risk and sacrifice you make.
So if you want to sacrifice your life for money and use that money to help your family then join it.
@@hiteshsingh498 And for that the family gotta be understanding aswell, staying away from them will Ofcourse won't be easy. I am in 11th rn and I still have plenty of time to think about it (and ofcourse I am planning to get overall above 85 in 12th). Let's see what destiny has in it for me✌🏻

@Prafull Ranjan if you love ships do b tech naval architecture it's a ship building industry or else go for mechanical and try for research in govt institute also you could become a good Engg teacher in some private college with that you can move to govt colleges

When they beg us not to go, but we still walk out the door. They don’t see the miles we travel. They don’t see the hours we work. Yeh woh sab nahi bolega isko bas subscribers chahiye showing stupid videos to gain attention show the rope work mooring operation bulkhead cleaning hold cleaning chipping painting , hammers to tighten bolts , lashing cargo , no sleep time due to motion of ship and short rest hours , reduced shore leave due to fast loading of cargo and less permission. To go outside due to security contract job , reduced contact with family , loneliness ,salary is only for Contract period no medical facilities onboard , no medical fitness no job in merchant Navy leave it guys je won't tell sl this
