Question: I used to reload, years ago, same kit (minus the books). I only loaded for precision 308 at the time. Never loaded for handguns or anything else, and I’m looking to get back into it.. *So if have everything for 308 in this kit, what other things would I need to load 9mm?* New 9mm die kit obviously, a shell holder, plus all supplies right? Or am I missing anything? I used the handheld primer, always liked it and is very fast. Hand just gets tiring lol
Nope, you got it covered. If you got the press, some way to prime, and some way to measure/weigh powder you should just need dies and a shell holder. If you get a set of carbide dies you won’t need to lube the cases.
You seemed to be having trouble seating the primer, shouldn't have to force it like you were doing, I have the same set up and it's very smooth seating the primer. Are you reloading shells that have a crimp on the primer ?you will need to chamfer those pockets and the primer will go in easy,You don't want to smash the primer in to the pocket like that.
Wish you have a video using this set up reloading 9mm from start to finish. Thinking about getting the challenger with Lee 4 die set. And also what is best, using the beach powder measure or the auto drum on this pressm
Thank you for your comment. I made a few step by step reloading videos a few years ago, but with different equipment. Yesterday I just shot another step by step video and I was debating whether I should do more. Obviously there’s value in doing that, so I will do a 9mm video soon. So keep an eye out for it.👍
Thanks again, nice that you 3-D a die case, very cool. Lee kit has lots of value.
I've been using a challenger kit for years. Works great, have ad no problems with it at all.. everything from 9mm to 30-06
The priming system is the best on he market. Fast and your hands don’t hurt.
Great vid! Nothing wrong with updating your equipment! You can pick up a cheap digital scale now days they make them pretty reliable now!
Just ordered this kit for 8x57...which is real hard to find in my neck of the woods.
Lee has some really good stuff 👌

@Redneck Reloader nice!!!
Thanks!!!
That kit should work fine for you . I'm not a fan of their powder scale though .
You also need trimming dies
...for rifle
