I've been a Nighwish fan since Oceanborn. I loved (and still love) Tarja, I liked Anette, but I adore Floor. There's something about her voice, her flexibility in terms of technique and tone and her almost unfair stage presence (which seems completely natural despite being rehearsed) that just makes me happy to watch or listen to. And experiencing Floor live, from just a few meters away, is something you won't soon forget.
What I find interesting about Floor's stage presence is that she still manages to blend with the rest of the band. Her presence doesn't shove the band into the background, like it can with many lead vocalists. With Tarja, whom I greatly admire, there were times where her stage presence felt a bit separated from the the band. A little "in front" of them, if you will. I guess I'm saying there's something uncanny with Floor's stage presence, in that she is both mesmerizing yet fully integrated into the band all at the same time.
@@ZenMorph This is probably because Floor and the others have no problem taking a step back to give someone in the band their "shining" moment. It's not a competition against each other. Floor once said that they are her brothers and in the band she is one of the "boys".
In fan streams with her, she reacts almost shyly to praise and always says .... I'm just Floor.
I rank my favorite Nightwish singers Floor number one Marco number 2 Anette number 3 and Tarja fourth don't get me wrong Tarja is incredible but one dementional operatic all the way

Being able to experience Floor from so close is usually associated with hours of waiting in front of the venues, but for some reason you usually run into familiar faces (FW included), which is actually a big part of the experience.

@@Duskwind_ yesss..I think I know exactly those moments you mentioned. Those, and other many similarities belong to Floors stage performance and "maneuvers", and I really love those. Especially those u mentioned. The last one was more in my radar but now u mentioned the first one I appreciate that one also..take care and love from cold frozen hellhole😂.

@@phm19880 I also just wonder why there is no mentioning about this great gesture of her to a great performance of Jukka (as always he delivered). She did something similar more often, for example to Emppu in Tampere (sleeping sun).
The interaction between band members is a delight to see,
Emppu wandering about, touching the arms of his friends.
In more recent concerts, Floor "plays" the guitar for Emppu,
also at the end of GLS, he moves over to her and locks finger "Horns".

Welcome back to Nightwish. So many great performances and songs you can react to. Floor is the perfect singer for Nightwish. Marko had mental health problems and left the band because of that. Luckily the diagnosis was found and he made a return to music world. He continues on a slightly smaller scale now with his different projects.

So it's a song about love and the loss of that love. Now he (the writer) or she (the singer) is living with the ghost of past love
Nice to see you back, Nightwish fan! Floor introduced me to Nightwish as I knew her as the singer of After Forever since 2004. Once you get to know her, you'll like her. Not only as the most versatile singer and a great performer, with a lot of talent and experience. She is a nice person too. Thanks to her I'm a proud member of the Nightwish Army for the band members are just as wonderful. I have no words for Tuomas, he is just more then a musical genius 🙏

And Emppu is just Emppu ❤ - the David Gilmour of metal, as one reactor calls him, and the cutest and warmest jokester of all.

Hello dear reactor. Nightwish fan since 1996 here and army 😊I am so glad people find Nightwish music. Most of them are so surprised how good this band is. They are professionals, not hip hop, not rap, not pop, not radio music. Nightwish has very unique style in lyrics, melodies, compositions.. And the master mind behind all this great music is our metal Mozart, Tuomas Holopainen (keyboards). I have all Nightwish studio albums since 1996 and this Wacken double DVD including "Please Learn The Set List In 48 Ours". I was at their last live concert Vaasa city Finland 17th of June. I tell you, if you ever have a chance to go seeing them live go! But in this era where Jukka Nevalainen is playing drums, I love his playing and his style. He is so good. I would hope more people focus on him while hitting those drums with style. When I first saw him I bought several head bandanas matching my clothes. I love wearing bandanas. And Jukka made me do it :)

Sometimes you find a song you love, and then a few weeks later find an even better one. This song has been my favourite for about 2 years now. Maybe the best rock song ever!

Most reviewers use this version of Ghost Love Score from Wacken 2013 but for me I really love the one from Tampere 2015 (well actually the whole concert is WOW). It's amazing to see how much her stage presence developed in 2 years.
Excellent review of this song. ...this was my first Nightwish song I had ever heard back in 2019, and I became an instant fan! I have listened to the full concert at Wacken for 2013, and it is exceptional! I love "Song of Myself," which is the next song in the concert....and it's exceptional!

Welcome back to Nightwish. You missed this song twice. Tarja sang it in 2003. But for her and Anette it was only a concert encore. With Floor it comes into the main section and is the song with the most reaction videos on UA-cam.
In the middle of the song the whole band disappears because only backtracks are playing. Because of the orchestra and choir recordings, tracks are almost constantly playing in the background.
The concert takes place on the Imaginaerum Tour. In the middle of this tour, Anette was fired and Floor had to fill in 10 months before this concert. So you should know some songs. Officially she is only the Temp here, but her inclusion in the band had already been agreed upon.

In terms of content, the song is probably about the falling out with Tarja. When Tuomas wrote the lyrics there were already rumors that Tarja would be fired. Nevertheless, they record another album with this song and fire her right after the last concert.

Not my favourite song, but I agree nonetheless. Floor with Nightwish is great, but Floor with After Floorever is the real deal.

It's great that you're giving Floor a chance, she deserves it! I knew Nightwish with Tarja and Anette, and I understand that we are a little disappointed when the singer we loved to listen to leaves... But Floor is really fantastic! She's a great artist but also a nice person. You could say she's a Metal star, but she doesn't act like one at all.

It's my understanding that Floor brought "Ghost Love Score" back into the setlist. Annette wasn't able the sing it, but Floor knew and loved the song and obviously she CAN sing it!!!
As Tuomas said before.......she's really at home doing this......with dedication....motivation and charisma

The obvious choice for the next NW song, IMO, for you to see Floor "cover" one of the songs written for Annette, I recommend "Storytime" from this same concert...it is INCREDIBLE.
Compare Anette's "Storytime" to Floor's, and the differences will smack you upside the head. Night and day!
To be fair, I totally get it. Tuomas was on fire back then, and wrote some of the best albums ever produced... I can see how it would be difficult to believe the band could get any better
0:22 Dark Passion Play was a bloody good album, and I agree it's one of the best they've put out. I saw Nightwish with Annette live once, but she couldn't project as much power as on the album and had to knock a few notes down an octave to save her voice during the concert. So, imho, Annette was and is an amazing studio singer (just listen to her in The Dark Element), but of the three singers, probably the worst live. I'm not saying that she was a 1 out of 10, she was a solid 7.5, Tarja was a 9 (weird pronunciations on some words), but Floor... absolute beast of a singer, 10/10 every song
