For unstocked, undesignated wild trout streams, that’s always the case: I don’t name them. Stocker streams and designated streams are a different story. I have no problem naming them.

No, I don’t do any guiding. Though there are some really great guides in CT that are exceptionally knowledgeable; I’ve no doubt that their services are worth every penny. Glad you enjoyed the vid!

I live near Stanford Ct and I just started fly fishing for trout any tips? I love your content and it is cool to see you catch native trout in CT

Oh boy man, a very general question. A few basic tips off the top of my head:
•Don’t overthink fly selection when you’re just starting out. Meticulously matching the hatch has its place, but it’s usually not that important. A dozen of the classic patterns (some nymphs, dries and streamers) is good to catch most trout during most times of year on most streams. Focus on presentation first… it’s usually the more important consideration.
•Don’t let the fish see you. They aren’t geniuses, but they aren’t vegetables either. If they’re on to you, they’ll ignore everything you throw. Be stealthy.
•In the beginning when fly fishing, persistence in the face of adversity is key. Fly fishing isn’t hard, but there’s a learning curve, for sure. Don’t be discouraged by early failures. Push through, resolve to try again next time with renewed effort… it’ll start to click one day and you’ll never look back.
      Good luck out there!👍🏻
