      Yeah I'd rather have the gargantuan Peloton Tread and if you include the Bike then it's about even. I have the PTON Spin Bike - amazing and doesn't tear you up like running. I tried one of these a year ago and I was very happy to stick with spin and weight training.

    NOTE: This product works exactly as described. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxguEIMc_Qwab-3QMTpF6jaRL80hiOOsIN It originally earned a four-star review due to a minor defect (see below). However, the manufacturer's customer service rep (Lita) went above and beyond the call of duty and deserves five stars now. I wish I could give even more!I purchased this item which arrived quickly. Assembly instructions were easy to follow. There was only one problem: One bolt did not screw into the hole properly. I called the company. Their customer service rep (Lita) was terrific! She took all my information and submitted a request to replace the defective part. I'm hoping to finish assembly and start using this treadmill soon. (Fingers crossed...)FOLLOW UP: Lita called back to inform me that the company will send a replacement part AND a technician(canyoutalk)  to install it properly. AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE!! Thank you!!

      I bought mine with a discount and free shipping. It was still expensive, though I saved over $600.00. Yes, there is a lot to be said about running outside. The TrueForm Runner will ever replace that. Some advantages it has, are, you can run 24/7 and not worry about the weather or darkness, it teaches you better running form and it is convenient to work in as a warm up or supersetting a workout or with different stations.
      I can't recommend the TrueForm Runner enough. If you can find the money in your budget, buy it.

      Compared to some of the better powered mills it’s not that crazy. I have only ever bought used because I didn’t want to drop $500-600 on a cheap piece and couldn’t justify $1000+ for a decent one. The mill I want to grab this weekend was originally priced at $2500 and that was a mid tier model.

    People who are knocking this are the people who have no problem dropping 60K on a car with a fancy emblem. I would say this is probably a very good treadmill for a SERIOUS runner. Of course 6k spent on anything that is not your passion is a waste of money. People who's passion is running but don't lift weights would think spending 10K on a garage gym is crazy to pick heavy things up and put them back down. I see people riding around with 4k in rims and tires on their truck ...even through they know they tires will need to be replaced and the rims will go out of style. This treadmill is no more crazy then most things we Americans waste our money on. Many of us have heard of this treadmill and were wondering what all the hype is about. Coup gave us the answer. Don't knock the video if its not for you. He's not trying to sell you one. Just giving you the info....

    Why is it so expensive? No motor no power? Profit margin must be astronomical.

    • @thomasw98
      @thomasw98 4 роки тому +8

      02phenom The motors that treadmill manufacturers use only cost about $20 in bulk in China. In other words, the profit margin on these is about the same as on a motorized treadmill. Is that margin astronomical? I have no idea. You have the design costs, manufacturing, international shipping , marketing, warehousing, sales, domestic shipping, admin costs, after sales support, and last but not least, liability insurance. I have a feeling that the margin is not as good as it might seem at first for a big hunk of metal.

    • @GoLongAmerica

    • @mrtimjitsu
      @mrtimjitsu 4 роки тому +5

      @@thomasw98 the motor requires much more labor, which is the most expensive part of manufacturing. So again it doesn't make sense why it's more than 3x the cost of other high quality motorized treadmills.

      Have you made a decision? I know it's about 11 months later but I was just stuck between the two as well.
      In the past I've run on an assault runner but never a trueform. Based on this review and another one from him about the trueform, I went with the trueform trainer.
      Just got it setup and ran a mile on it.. i have to say it was a very difficult mile based on any minor tweak I did, I instantly suffered I pace etc, from having a bad form. Then corrected the mistake and established my form and the pace and stride instantly got better.
      This was the reason why I went with true form and glad that what they say it does for form is very true and "should" correlate to road running well.

      @@seancasey5834 we picked up the true form about 9 months ago. I absolutely love it. My wife loves it as well. The monitor is nicer on the Air Runner and if I was doing CrossFit or Metcon workouts I might go in that direction, however I wanted to get better at running and I adore the Trueform. I think the learning curve is made out to be a bigger deal that it is. I will not go back to a motorized treadmill again. The wife and I actually wish we would have dropped the coin on the more expensive Trueform for the 10 year warranty but we didn't realize we would like it as much as we do. Somedays I just walk on it and it is dead quiet.

    20 odd years ago I brought a treadmill from Argos I don't know what the equivalent would be in America
    It was also the same principle of using your own power to run it was very tiny very flimsy not a lot of distance you could really run
    It was dead cheap but my god I loved it till it fell apart

    Better form is not the pose method, it is a lot more complex than that. If this machine forces good form, then it is a plus (but good form also takes a lot of work) and the price really should be compared to the the cost of injuries and rehab, which works out in thousands ££ (for people that are not in denial about poor form injuries of course..).

      @@stealthassasin1day291 I understand you might have not found the right article, however, the first article you listed supported heel striking because 99.9% of use run less "godlike" than elite runners who sometimes heel strike and when they don't it's because of good form and proper mechanics. Not the best supporting argument for the article. The second article supports heel striking because elite runners that started out mind foot striking continued to be successful running in sponsored cushioned shoes with a heel strike. The reason for this is natural selection and how good of athletes they are and less about where their foot strikes. Foot placement, forefoot/midfoot is less about does it matter if the result is the same and more about reducing the risk of injury. I actually agree you can run equal or even faster at heel strike. But when you heel strike you put about 3x your body weight on your heel. That energy transfers up through the body causing many knees, hip and back problems. Not to mention Achilles & plantar issues. A good reference is on proper running form is naturalrunningcenter.com/natural-running-form/ The site talks a lot about minimal running shoes, which I do support, however, cushioned shoes or barefoot aside you shouldn't heel strike. It's about anatomy of your foot.

      They had one at my old gym. Hardly ever saw anyone use it. Typical people like lazy exercise. Machines that make them feel good, strong, etc.

      Keith Anderson and that is the exact reason why typical gym-go’ers look exactly the same now as they did when they started going to the gym years ago...

    I just don't understand how a good electric treadmill can cost $2000=$2500 and even taking into account the cost of metal, this purely mechanical one costs 3 times that??

    I was a runner in high school and in college and my 5 years in the Army. I have had many weeks of more than 70 miles of distanceNow that I’m over 50 I regret ever running distance. I quit running and guess what all my knee, hip, and back pain went away. It’s all a bunch of BS. If you are over 200lbs stop pounding the crap out of you knees hips and ankles. Lift heavy weights, and do HIIT on a bike, stairs, or push a prowler. I LOVE running stairs and my knees don’t ache anymore. At 51 I’m stronger and more pain free than I’ve ever been. You couldn’t give me a running machine and I would NEVER run more than 2 miles again unless I was being chased by a bear.

    The best treadmills are the human powered with variable brake setups, anyone worth their salt in the fitness world knows this.

    Hi Coop, Can you do a review of the Technogym SKILLMILL? It is a hamster wheel with a brake so you can use it as a push and pull sled too, genius! They put one in my gym I tested it quickly. It seems awesome. I would like to know how it compares to the Trueform. I am looking to buy a hamster treadmill but I am not sure where to spend my money yet.

    I want one. Too bad they are $3500+ for a trainer and $6000 for that model. Way too much. Should be $1000-$1500 at most just like a good rower.
    I will stick with my rower and jump rope for now.

    If the Trueform Runner had a switch for multiple levels of resistance, and a better display that would be incredible! The RESOLVE FITNESS "Reactive Runner" treadmill has this but I haven't seen much on reviews. It has multiple magnetic resistant levels. I've never used it, nor is it very popular. It looks like a very interesting treadmill because improving our form is important, but once there why not decrease resistance for a more "normal" running experience? www.treadmillonlinesale.com/resolve-fitness-treadmill.html/
    Maybe that's where the "Reactive Runner" could fit in? A review would be awesome. I have no affiliation with them, just hard to part w/ $1000s for a wrong fit, which is why your reviews rock! Thx.
