BFGoodrich KO2s Mounted! 2021 Toyota Land Cruiser Heritage Edition

- So you probably saw this coming… I just installed some 285/65/r18 BFGoodrich KO2 tires on my 2021 Toyota Land Cruiser Heritage Edition. I absolutely love the look of this setup! Not only do KO2s perform exceptionally well, they look the best on Toyotas in my opinion. Perfect for the 200 series. Not to mention, I like that it now matches the 285/70r17 KO2s on the 2022 lime rush Toyota 4Runner TRD Pro.
What are your thoughts? Would you have kept the Toyo Open Country AT3s? Or would you have gone with Nitto Ridge Grapplers instead?

I have 2-3 cars on KO2s and a similar amount on AT3’s and while I agree with the classic aesthetic comments, I do feel the AT3s performance and longevity is beyond that of the KO2. Regardless, all these options just mean the consumer can get exactly what they want! I need one of those 200 HE’s.
Nice! I’ve heard similar testimonials from other folks. Falken makes a great tire. Think I’d prefer them over the KO2 driving wise.

Looking good, just need some sliders. Ran the same tires but with the lift they looked small. Had to jump up to 295/70. I know you don’t like going crazy with the rigs but look into adding a long range fuel tank. Would make for nice video and less trips to the gas station.
Agreed, that's next! I've always been intrigued by the extended fuel range tank but haven't looked too deep into it.
I have a ‘20 Heritage with 12.5 LRA tank. I highly recommend it and make sure to do the upgraded kit. I’m running RG’s 285/70r18 and absolutely outperform my previous KO2 in the rain and snow. I may go to 295/70r18 Revo3 for hwy traveling for most of the year.

Do you have any rub with that size? I have 305/60/18 on my 200 right now but been eyeing your exact setup. If you had rub did you have to trim any pieces?

Love the white letters but as something I’m going to daily drive 40+ miles a day, I want tires that will actually perform versus just look good. I got rid of my KO2s after multiple occasions of losing traction and nearly spinning out in wet/rainy conditions. Overall much happier with my General Grabber X3s traction wise. If the KO2s could actually grip, id have kept them.
Ko2s do look great but ive heard the same thing about wet traction. Oddly enough I have michelin ltx at2 that come standard on the tundra and those tires have never let me down in any weather conditions. Rain and wet traction is among the best I've ever had in any tire even though they look like standard highway tires.
@@Kallu.Media1 LTXs have significantly more siping for traction as Michelins typically do. I almost went back to Nittos but I came across a deal on the Generals so I got those instead. Amazingly theyre quiet for being mud terrains.

Just ordered a set of Wildpeak AT3Ws in 265/70/17. Really wanted to go with some white lettering and KO2s, but seems the Wildpeaks better reviews in terms of on-road manners. I'm also wondering if I should have gone with the 285s, but didn't want to start chopping stuff myself. Stock 4Runner ORP

I do have a question though. If you know you won’t be keeping these vehicles why do you bother buying tires and other expensive accessories?
That should be proof that I don’t ever intend to sell as quick as I do right? I just remove the pieces I install and sell second hand… even if I lose a little money, that’s okay. It’s a hobby that I enjoy is all. Should I find a cheaper hobby? Yeah.
Do you have steering wheel shake on either the 4Runner or LC? That's one thing that always annoyed me about the KO2's on my 4Runner.
I put Falken Rubitrek's (made in Thailand and XL Load Range) on my new GX 460 and absolutely love them after 750 miles so far. We haven't gotten any snow yet, however, they are 3PMSF rated.
Untamed, what's your thoughts on spacers? I got the same wheel/tire setup for my 2013 nebula gray lx570 based on how great they look on your heritage edition LC's. Have been thinking about the 1" boras I've seen the chat on ih8mud on em but wanted to get your opinion
I personally don't like spacers, they will only cause more headache down the road as they add significantly more stress on wheel hubs, forcing you to have to replace wheel bearings much more frequently. Which is spendy...
How does the ride quality on regular pavements compared between the toyo’s and ko2’s? How’s the road noise?
They’re a bit firmer than the Toyo open county AT3s. Sliiiightly more road noise but still super quiet.
