    I have never used a clay bar, but as my last vehicle got older I could feel the grit in the wax. I have a brand new truck and it feels smooth as silk so I need to clay bar it.

      Wilson Auto Detailing Hi bro... I just has a question.. I used the meguiars ultimate compound and ultimate polish .... the compound was looking good but when I use the polish there is some marks like still polish to be removed from the paint.... Is mirror shine but in the sun theres a few spots that I don't like how it looks in the sun... by the way is a black paint Tundra 2016.. How I can fix it? And I didn't put the ultimate wax paste.... if I used the wax like that it would make it worse? I hope you reply and by the way I love your channel and thanks for share a lot of knowledge with us...b

      Don’t wash the car after you apply the wax. First, wash the car with water and a car washing solution. Then, dry it off with microfiber towel and use a clay bar to remove the contaminants on the paint. After that, u should use the polisher or the wax in the video, and buff it off with another clean microfiber towel.

    I thought THIN film technology was a sales gimmick until i tried to see how difficult it was to remove if I overloaded the applicator. You can overload your applicator and it still spreads thinly, so easy to use even if your tried to use it wrong! They have a new improved version now, but you get a little less.

      I've already tried and failed at this. I cut a chunk out of the wax, this one in particular, and put it in a bowl over a pot of boiling water to slowly melt it down (double boil method). Unfortunately even after you melt it down, once I put it in the bottle it solidified once again rather quickly. It just ain't gonna work.

    You should rub the wax in one back and forth direction. Of course there is nothing abrasive in wax, but that's not the point. If you go in a circular motion, you can create more noticeable swirling marks because your rubbing abrasive impurities into the paint that are already on the paint

    • @wilsonautodetailing

      Yes I would use this on any car, and whether or not you use a carnauba wax over this is subject to change. Carnauba doesn’t last as long, but probably has a bit more of a glow to it. Synthetic protects longer but people say it doesn’t look quite as good as carnauba

      Hey, usually if you're to use a sealant and a wax, you do sealant first. Wax goes over the sealant. If do sealant over wax, the sealant will only last as long as the wax lasts. if wax comes off, the sealant comes off with it.

    Does it remove swirl marks by any chance?

    • @wilsonautodetailing
      @wilsonautodetailing  7 років тому

      It does not. Wax by nature doesnt remove swirls or correct any defects. It would have to contain some sort of abrasives to do that, like physical or chemical abrasives, but that would make it no longer ONLY a wax, so paste waxes are simply meant to visually enhance and protect the paint, not correct swirls, but check out some of my videos on polishing, I have a ton of them and thats where you will see some swirls getting fixed

    Have you used the liquid version of this wax? I've used a number of waxes before and ULW really doesn't seem like it wants to haze when I apply it to my car and let it sit. I've left my car in the garage just to see how long I had to wait and after an hour it still hadn't hazed.

    • @Des420
      @Des420 7 років тому

      For me, the Ultimate Paste Wax is much easier to remove and gives a better shine than the Ultimate Liquid Wax.

    • @wilsonautodetailing
      @wilsonautodetailing  7 років тому

      Finick I have used the liquid and I will definitely put out a video on it, they both definitely have there place. I think what I would say is that often times detailers tend to hype up small things that really don't need to be and wax "hazing" is one of those, sure wax can haze and some would argue that it makes it cure to the paint even more, but whether you let it sit or wipe it off within 30 seconds, the difference is just so negligible. It's one of those areas where detailers argue just for the sake of being right, and not really on a foundation of good information. Hope that puts you at ease a little!

    • @stevensparks19
      @stevensparks19 7 років тому +1

      Wilson Auto Detailing thanks for the reply. I'm not so much concerned with it hazing so much as I am it just seeming to never really actually dry at all. When I go to remove it all it seems to want to do is just smear around, and leave a residue that I need to either hit with a QD or wash afterwards, which is very peculiar. It's the only wax I've ever had behave this way, but I'm still playing with it whenever I wax a car just to see what I'm doing wrong.

    • @wilsonautodetailing
      @wilsonautodetailing  7 років тому

      If you let it sit too long (especially in the sun), it does take a little effort to get it off. You can use a little bit of fresh wax to get it more workable... But I try not to do more than two panels at a time, so I don't have to bother with that extra work. Wax #1. Wax #2. Buff #1. Buff #2. Repeat on next set of panels.

      hakman239 definitely is way more difficult in the sun! I really don't even bother if I am in direct sunlight with this wax in particular

    Hi, i watch your videos and i like them, also i have one question for you, did you try Formula 1 Premium Wax and if you could please do a review because in my country i only can buy Turtle wax, Sonax and Formula 1 products, i try and i was using TW for years but i think that they are not premium ones, also can you do a video about Liquid Wax vs Paste Wax, that can be interesting to see compared. Thanks a lot for good and education videos.

      Hey man! Thanks for being involved here on the channel! I can definitely do a comparison of liquid wax vs paste wax, I was planning on it, I definitely will.. as far as turtle wax goes, I dont use any of their products because you are right, they really arent anything too special or premium, but I may be able to get my hands on some turtle wax stuff and help you out! I also dont really use anything from sonax, but I havent really ever looked into formula one products so I will definitely have to do that! Where do you live?

      Wilson Auto Detailing Hey, thanks for reply, here Turtle Wax is most used product also Sonax, but im realy interested in Formula 1 product. I live in Serbia, thats small country in Europe so we dont have a lot of imported automotive cosmetic products, i saw Armors one but i think that Formula 1 have better products. Thanks again :)

    I appreciate your videos and want to support your channel by buying the products you recommend through your Amazon links. I want to purchase several items you recommend, like this wax and Citrol Degreaser, in one Amazon order, not separate orders, so you get credit. How do I do that on Amazon?

    • @Des420
      @Des420 7 років тому

      You'll have to go to each video with the product you want to buy, and follow those links. Once on Amazon, just add the items to your cart and Amazon will handle the rest.

      No worries... And if you have Prime, you can get some stuff to try out just in time for the weekend. Might just be the universe setting you up for some hands on time with your vehicle. Fingers crossed for you. If you remember, let everyone know how you liked this wax. I really like it a lot. Pretty easy to use with solid shine, but the depth of color it gives is what I like most. Like it moisturizes the paint is the best way I can put it.

      mikeca98 wow thank you so much! It's actually super easy!!! Just go through any one of my links, and as long as you stay on Amazon from there, I will get credit for anything you purchase, so no need to go through each link for each product, go through any link one time, and shop till you drop 😂 thank you again so much for being involved here and helping out, let me know if I can help with anything at all!

    • @bc9769

      Leonardo Dias apply wax in straight lines. Buff off with micro fiber towel. Finish with another set of micro fibre towels. Fold micro fiber towel up and use different sides to keep clean for buffing and trapping the buff off wax. You can also finish with a spray wax or detailer. When I say finish I mean you don't have to get it perfect on first pass, buff most off and go back over it. Also, stick to meguairs for everything if you can afford it. I cannot stress more on straight lines. Clean car and dry properly. Finally, if there's still very minor imperfections of wax layer, disregard. I mean only for imperfections in wax layer, don't confuse it with anything else at all.
      Cleaning tips, two bucket method, search it up. Microfiber everything only touches paint never anything else in my opinion. Dry car with micro towel as well before waxing. Detailer can help minimize scratches.
      Economy tip, buy detailer and spray wax and soap in bulk if you're gonna do it regularly like I do. Chemical guys is a good brand for that
      Clean top to bottom, clean in straight lines.
      Keep detailing, makes you happy :)

    Take it easy. You sound like the sherif's after you, ha ha! ;) I bought this wax just today and only noticed it's content after coming home. I've been using canauba based hard waxes for many years. I was told this is a more advanced canauba based hard wax than pure canauba based waxes. But it's not. It purely synthetic, so thanks for your info. I'll return it tomorrow morning. It says on the box and inside on an infoleafs page, that it's harmfull if touched. Hence you wearing gloves I think. I am used to natural waxes and not this toxic type. Woops, got the wrong one this time. If the dealer won't take it back, I guess I'll just throw it out in the bin.
    I've also used Meguiars semi-liquid canauba based wax, and while giving an okay shine and easy to aply and does not leave white streaks on edges if I accidentially touches an edge while applying, which is very nice, it does not last very ong. Likea week or so. If the car gets wet, it's over after just one shower. Not very lasting, because most of it's content is a driver (water etc.). This ultimate hard wax must not touch other surfaces it says on the packaging - leaves white streaks or is attacking surfaces other than paint.
    I've also used Autoglym's canauba hard wax, and that is more difficult to apply and wipe off and buff off. But the shine is better and last a lot longer. And can be touched by hand without risk of skin reactions. I guess I'll go back to using that. Or something else better than this Meguiar product. One reason being that this one, the Meguiars Ultimate hard wax, needs to use nano tech to give results, as it's not canaua based wax. Therefore slipping into nature with lots of nano tec particles, polluting the environment even more than a normal canauba wax. I generally do not support nano tec because of this.
    I wax my cars and the motorcycle at least every month. It would therefore be nice if you mentioned something about layers, and how they last if more layers are applied; time between each layer etc. from a real world perspective. Not package info.
    Also, it would be nice to know if for example the application pad need to be damp or just simply dry. Some waxes need the applicator pad to be slightly damp when applying the wax.
    Besides I NEVER EVER let the product stay on the car. Never. It could slide off and touch the paint, risking making scratches.
    Further, I always use a minimum of two micro fiber towels: one for wiping off, and one for buffing. Makes easier to differentiate between the two, and usually also lasts better before a new one (clean) is needed.
    If possible it would also be nice to know if the applicator pad dries in such a way (after use) that it makes dust next time. Or it doesn't. Some waxes does that while others dones not. Again, real world use info.
    I feel you could make your videos better by speaking a bit more about these methods - or speaking about if that is needed or not. It would make the video's better.
    Anyway, thanks for you info. It made me clearer about my purchase being the wrong one, before using it ;)
    Kind regards,
    Jacques

    • @wilsonautodetailing

      I like both for different things, I use paste wax more, just because the only time I would apply liquid wax is with a DA buffer, and if you are going to do that, then why not just go ahead and put a sealant on it instead... anyways, thats what I do
