glad youre talking about this and, hopefully more specifically in a later video, the potential issues that pro play presents to a game's community
pros must use the safest, most tried-and-true strategies in order to compete and earn a pay check. this can (and does) mean that they will establish a meta, play that meta until it stagnates, someone will innovate and that becomes the meta, it stagnates, and so on. every game with a pro scene has this happen, from shooters to fighting games, with players who need to win to buy food hesitant to break the mould unless they have some kind of epiphany and can hone it with their team/closest mates
honestly, ive been watching sovas and controllers rocking ops since launch and listening to my team give them shit over it because johnny pro gamer does something else. it's a terrible misunderstanding in the community, that the pros always do the most optimal thing all the time. this isnt true, they do the safest things all the time and only adapt when the earth moves beneath their feet
Couldn't have put it better myself. I've watched the same pattern over tons of patches in Dota 2.
Great comment!
Mans with a composition, respect tho❤
honestly this is a really great observation you have my friend :)
This perfectly sums up the definition of meta and how it’s created, gj sir
I noticed the double OP on Liquid, but the gun switching completely flew over my head! It's an incredible strat really. Shame my teammates don't watch this, so we can't recreate it > : )
This is very common in CSGO, but people only want to use the most meta combos instead of being creative like TL.
@@xcbasss5824 Very true! It’s hard to push the boat out like they do when you don’t have a pre made stack though.
The gun switch happened primarily because soulcas had low health. Its very common in other teams too to give the lower HP player the OP because its a one shot, low time-to-kill weapon with which you don't need much health for an engagement.
going into solo que expecting ANY of this is such a fools errand lol. Sure the pro scene might be evolving out of jett OPin. Tho with ranked pugs it will be the same jett op crutch for the rest of the game lol.
The problem with regular ranked is that not all people can confidently handle the op. So the situation this can be applied in is miniscule compared to the pro scene.
I'd say it's less "Don't OP on Jett" and "You can OP on characters other than Jett"
While ur right, what i think hes stating is that the pros scream has is hes an insane entry player, insane mechanics, not suited for an op playstyle thats what he means
I think the thumbnail was referring to only giving the op to jett, so the reason "stop this on jett" was accurate
I think personally that while the OP Jett combo is great I think that she's honestly just better as a more passive aggressive rifler than a hyper aggressive OPer like the way a CNed might play her vs other Jett players like VS Rb who is more of a passive aggressive player and feels out the enemy team vs taking aggressive peaks.
Oh sweet I'm the 1%.
I never play Jett! Wooo!
In seriousness though, real unique video with good takes. Sometimes I Op as Cypher when my team isn't feeling it on a given day and the way you described it as a tool is great. Removes the pressure of using it.
Samuel.
Cypher awping isn’t even bad on paper, he has plenty of ways to assure he gets out
@@arutorius6080 Oh absolutely, I agree . I just prefer quick-spammimg cages with Phantom to ensure the Enemy can't ever pinpoint where I am. Also, enemies will tend to not push known Oppers and I *want* them to end up in my trips so I try to mindgame them into thinking my site's guard is down.
you may not play jett, but do you drop ops to jett and think of her as the agent who is best with the op?
With my team I only drop Ops to our best Oppers, one of whom happens to be a great Jett, the other is a Viper Main who has great utility usage to complement his Op.
While you do have a point on the agent change at 1:54 , I think the largest reason is how low HP Soulcas is compared to Nivera and the value he would have with an Operator VS a Rifle in a 1v1. This is more of a CS concept, but a low HP player with an Op will have more value than if they keep a rifle because of the value of the "One shot, one kill" potential you have with said Op.
Totally agree with you that Jett is becoming less and less Op meta heavy though! Defense they make a great secondary Oper and offense its almost required they rifle entry in the coming meta. Great video!
The reason soulcas and nivera swapped in the first place was due to “bogdan’s law” where a player who’s one shot takes the gun that only needs one shot to kill. But your point still stands as the OPs position is what impacted TL’s decision making, and not the agent.
I think it’s a mindset people need to get out of. Like if you’re in MM, low hp, and ur Jett has full hp, that swap makes complete sense, as it would in CS. However, by the time you convince the Jett it’s probably too late lol.
Actually he number of jetts living off of the opeator and knives is damn high...hand them a marshal, smg or rifle, they can't do a thing...you are left healing them, smoking off their dash back to safety or saving their op instead of completing retakes for a round win..
steel's law
Who is Bogdan and where did he pass this law. I knew of the rule didn't know it was a law.
preach brother, especially about asuna. asuna is way too good on rifles to be an oper, but now nitro looks like he's oping on jett which makes sense, hopefully asuna gets back on the rifle
Jett is washed
Factual
^^
overrated too
@@EpicExists Very and honestly that agent is just a bore snore getting the same "Clip" moments....most people with decent mechanics can get those with jetts overloaded kit lol. wished one trick jetts didn't ruin ranked when they don't get their pick lol.
Love your channel and hope to see you at 100K soon! ❤️❤️
❤️❤️
Hey look ma I made it 😎 5:02 also sick pointing out the gun switching; i didn’t catch that watching it live
I've always thought that Viper with an Op was not so bad, since your Poison Orb and Toxin Screen (once placed) don't require you to put down your weapon to toggle. This means you can influence whatever area of the map you put those abilities, while also holding an angle with the Op.
I haven't had much chance to practice this, but I also have a technique were I'll hold and off angle, but put my orb at my feet. This way, I can smoke myself immediately when taking a shot, to help me reposition if I missed or get double swung. It is possible that the smoke goes up too slowly, but this seems worth experimenting with.
Lul viper op.
Controllers shouldn't ever play op.
The time it takes for your smoke to bloom you are already dead.
Op can be viable with initiator sentinal and of course duelist but never controller .
And in attack op is viable only for Jett.
What I am saying is for ranked matches not pro players. In pro play you can develop starts and your team will support you cause everyone knows the objective meanwhile if you do shit like that in ranked you gonna die and lose rounds cause nobody can read your mind or even if they could they can't coordinate.
ok i know this is 2 months old but one trick i use is put the smoke down on defense on a choke point hold that point get a kill smoke it and if u dont pray with your knife out works 70% of the time coz they always expect a jett or a chamber to do that
@@joeroganpodfantasy42 ur kinda right but with viper has this mechanic called swoopeek and if u know the timing u can also reverse swoopeek u will get sprayed but then again chances are low
What really impressed me is Team Liquids retakes with a double operator setup. Normally an operator retake seems nearly impossible and now you have TWO of team?! But they still managed to retake sites with their secondary gun (mostly frenzy or classic)!
I remember Fnatic swapping Ops between Derke and Boaster while attacking the last time they played, Its been a while so I dont think people remember. Derke would take the aggressive positions looking for picks but when it came to entrying, he would pick up a vandal
Love ur vids bro i wish u would post one evryday cant get enough of this megamind Hiko shit. No Kappa
When I played valorant last, this meta did not exist. Man, good ol’ days. I wonder how much time this change will take.
babe wake up valorant ascended uploaded!
I watched this and didn't even notice all that go on. Love your vids and observations
thank you so much to make video of valorant to help people, it helped me so much. thank you so much !
YES!! Im a kj main who really cannot spray as well. I just use Marshal / Guardian / OP. And all the time I get non-believers saying "uhhh why you oping bro, you are kj" and eat their words when I get 2k or 3k and shut down the flanks.
Kj's utils are perfects for holding down angles with the op, provides so much info that you can confidently look down the sights and actually hold an angle without worrying about some other angle and trying to flick and losing the op 10 seconds into the game...
ops compensates kj defensive prowess. jett just more flexible offensively and defensively
Your distraction may have worked but i also subscribed cause i respect you calling this out
THAT SNEAKY SUB TRICK YOU DID IS LOVELY STRAT.
I noticed the gun switches. Realised that it’s a strat that they switch guns just before attacking a site. And I proceeded to ✨completely✨ forget about it during my games. Thanks for refreshing my memory! Cheers.
I've done the gun swapping method with a random phoenix I played with before on split. I'd let him op garage to get a pick, I'd wall off garage with sage wall if they were pushing, and we'd swap guns, giving me op and him a vandal or phantom. Worked sooooooooo fucking well
Sorry Tarik you should stop playing the operator
I thought in the match they switching op player because the lower hp should using op because they can one shot, not risky to die using rifle
love ur stuff man:)
Thank gawd I encountered this channel. I first watched your aim labs video and now I'm hooked ;-;
I had no idea that a pro team would also be doing this...I play astra and I love running the marshal as yeah I can control my los and as=lso help out teammates and as a bonus I get to be master of coin...can hand my duelists rifles on even eco rounds...only thing is if they were dependable all the time..solo queue problems..
Me the entry fragging rifle/op Jett one-trick: I have outsmarted your outsmarting
Unfortunately your team has to be well coordinated in order to pull these type of weapon switch stunts off, something you just cant get in a random lobby.
That may work in pro game but in my elo (gold) if you would give someone random the op he can't really play op or won't give it back. it would be possible if you are a 5 stack but otherwise it's impossible and the Jett OP would be better bc the most important rule in solo q is still never trust a teammate
I feel like I've been called out, I typically OP on Jett because it's the gun associated with Jett the most, so I would sometimes go out of my way to try to use the Operator on her. It could also just have to do with how I feel more confident and secure using the gun on her, and how it's considered throwing using operator on an agent that's not Jett
Personally, when I play Jett, I go with any gun. But if the OP's available, then it'd be a waste not to pick it up. I can sell it anyway if I don't feel like it anymore.
The problem is when people try to play other agents whit an OP holding angles they have no way of getting out of, if you don´t have a dash don´t play aggressive OP angles also I don´t like Attack OP whit any other agent than Jett you are investing a ton of money in attack for something that rarely gets value.
so much information ty 💖
good video bro! keep up the good work 👍
another agent that can wield the op would probably shake the meta and offer mote strats
this is by far the most mind blowing and opinion changing video made by you
I've never thought about changing weapons with my mates. That is freaking smart
I don't really play anything else than reyna and jett + neon sometimes on haven, but I've ran op and marshal with reyna for ages if I notice that I can't hit my shots or if I don't wanna tryhard with vandal. Alao imo reyna is better suited for scream than jett, the best option imo would be jamppi on jett, scream on reyna, and rest of them to suitable roles, my take tho so don't bully me
Team Liquid double op meta is obvious in hindsight but brilliant. They are making it work and its only the beginning, once they fine tune it past lcq into champions they are gonna be disgustiingly good
i feel like this is so obvious though with anyone having a csgo background. we didn't have dashes and movement abilities in csgo, yet the op has seemed some amazing success, nonetheless.
The awp is faster than the op
You are a sitting duck whenever you fire it in valorant
Unless your jett or chamber you will be limited to positions where you can pull out knife and hide behind cover which will get smoked off
The awp can be played more aggressivly in csgo but its a defensive weapon in valorant
Also movement in csgo is faster too
Lol i never knew the thought of passing weapons not just for the op
I've literally been saying this for sooo long, thank you for getting this message out.
Maybe it's a low elo thing but I could use any agent with operator and it works
Oh yes dash in with Jett? So you can’t pull your gun in time and then get gun down by the enemy
Viper is also a good oper, since she can controll what she sees and what the enemy sees with her smokes
sure jett can be used on other agents, and sure jett is a very good entry fragger, but i think this only applies to team liquid with scream jamppi and nivera. jett is the best agent for awpers because of her smoke and dash, as well as her ult which can be used on eco rounds to save for an awp. i dont think this is a bad video but i feel like smth that valorant ascended does too much is that they fall into the "unpopular opinion" where they think that something is correct just because a lot of people dont have that mindset
followed by chmaber and reyna. although reyna requires you to actually land your shot so you can escape.
NTH Seoldam at apac qualifiers never used op. Not just Seoldam but the entire team never really had an operator.
he did but as he says himself he wasnt very good at it
@@nao2490 ohh okay...
this is actually 5 head after seeing this video I feel my brain getting bigger
sounds like a mobile game ad
Big liquid fan and think it’s great there doing this
Also C9B did this against V1 in the LCQ
Thank you.Well explained..
fresh, original, and god-tier analysis yet again
u know what would be great? a guide on how to kill counter strafers....
3:05 guess I have no choice
ngl just found out im already subscribed after attempting to subscribe due to the distraction
that's what im saying for year now.. Like if u instalock jett, at least do your job and push site
he gave the op to soulcas because he was 1 hp and couldnt really take fights head-on.
Since I started playing the game I have always prefered OP'ing over rifling. The thing is, I hate playing Jett. The amount of times I got shit from my teammates or the Jett coming up to me in spawn eventhough he missed every shot possible is honestly astounding. Thank you for this video, hopefully i can start OP'ing more again
me explaining why i died to enemy jetts op:
this is a really cool video but i feel there should be a heavy DISCLAIMER for people who don’t keep up with pro val that TL has been doing weird stuff like this for a long time and they’re not exactly consistent with stuff like this working out for them
jett is still by far the best opr too but everyone should be learn to anchor sites with it when given the opportunity
dude i legit lost a match because our jett always saved his op he bought in round 3 🗿🗿🗿
Hey i love ur videos but many of them arent very applicable to the average ranked player, keep these up cuz they cool, but would you consider adding in analysis of ranked plays
Im part of the minority that doesnt play jett damn-
Long time i had this mindset , its only fortnite players and ppl from paladins or orther shit games think like that jett only awp for jett like hell no its bullshit . ( High immortal player)
2:28 I heard that 😂
I know this is an old video but I haven't seen anybody talk about the thumbnail and how it says dont do this on jett, and jett isnt shouldering the op. She lost her eye privileges I guess
0:14 posture check
I like playing OP on Jett, especially on defense but not for holding angles but for aggressive peaking. It is just so much fun to play. I dont think the problem is with Jett and OP but rather in how rigid mindset people have. People are going to flame you if you deviate from the default diamond (my rank) playstyle.
This video aged well
I told everyone that Sniper Viper is viable now maybe they will believe me
Operator needs a buff tho
No.
@@shonsenjaime177 it’s legit only viable on defence. The operator is so bad when attacking, if u are attacking then jett is basically the only way it works. (Maybe not breeze)
I am a sova main and play Operator breeze and Bind
Jett operator? What is that ? I play viper operator
actually big brain
Woke up late cause of homework but dont worry im here now
Me who uses it with reyna: muahahha
i use it with sage lul
Great video but the title doesn't fit at all
now the nerfs 💀
Oh, but you see.. In silver this isn't a problem. Anyone who wants an OP is going to use it no matter the agent.
Gambit also does this alot
I op on sova and it works just as good for getting crazy wallbangs
I want to be opping omen/cypher.... or i try to be
Yoru op is where it is man, change the meta lesgoooo
Honestly... with jett dash nerf... Nah man
Jamppi best non-jett oper
Mobile ad be like:
pretty sick vid ;)
Bro this guy has some lit videos, wish my content was as gud as his :(
Nivera uses op
Jamppi uses op
Soulcas can use op
Scream can use op
Op go BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
I thought this video was about crouch spraying
in my elo, replace OP with odin
So basically Jett is op
But of course
you need to hit shots
otherwise, it would be a different story
or you could be like me and be a jett main and just suck with the op and never play it ;)
same
Im pretty good with the op but i suck with the other guns lol
This is pretty impressive.
I have literally and I mean literally talked to pros and coaches about this very concept but they're too small minded to consider the potential. The only coach that has the balls to risk their career on trying something new and vastly different to play against the hive mind is Sliggy, team Liquid's coach.
Which pros
While i find this channel videos interesting id like to see more clear tittles instead of bad clicbait thumbnail AND tittle combos like this.
We're blessed again
I main skye and use OP and they get frustrated when I frag with it. Its so satisfying.
Yes
