pretty sure, if I'm not wrong University of Tokyo developed a robotic finger covered in lab grown skin, it doesn't have any receptors but they're working on it.
It s definitely possible. We can already grow basic human parts like cartilages and blood vessels. I think the hurdle is nervous system connection and immune system rejecting anything that not original part of the body. Maybe in 30 or 50 years.
Not like this. You'd need to connect the arm to your brain somehow, but I don't think there's enough knowledge about the brain parts that handle motor functions yet (at least publicly available). If you attach it to your existing arm, the bionic arm would copy those movements. You could probably control the arm by attaching it to something you don't need for movement, such as the muscles that handle facial expressions, the sphincter, the muscle that lifts your peepee a little when you contract it, etc. and practice to coordinate it with arm and finger movements. You'd look like a giant idiot but it would probably work.
If ww3 were to happen where would your God be? Watching who lives and dies and yes I hope the tech becomes become so advanced they start making terminators and shi 😂
What about pain receptors? Let's say, you slice a knife onto the prosthetic, would the user feel pain like a normal person would?? But minus the cut and the bleeding.
@@heinzditer7286 why scary? I would absolutely love to put my brain in a robot that is as good or better than my biological body in every aspect, while being elegant, beautiful, and… human. Retaining emotions, feeling, my humor, etc. exciting times!
Too loud. Also wondering if it can get attached to a harness, or somehow directly attached to the limb, like to the bone, so that one could use the bionic hand to, let's say, hang from a ledge. Also "super light"? Why would you want it light as opposed to the weight of a regular hand?
You know what? I prefer to live in a future where cars are made better. Edit: And I hope we won't live in a scary cyberpunk world. Case in point if we were to end up like Cyberpunk 2077's word where our body parts with our faces and robot technology gets our minds linked or with to many robotic parts that makes us look scary.
@@Ry_TSG sorry. I posted the wrong thing. And just so you know, I hope we won't end up in a cyberpunk world. Prosthetics, yes. Distinguished Surgery? No.
@The Sword Prince we are 100% going to reach that point. The question is, will we do something about it before it gets that bad. The world will need incredible change before humans can be trusted with cyberpunk type technology.
Skynet is Hollywood fiction, if Ai uprising about to happen we could shut it down before it could happen as long as we have control over Ai everything will be fine
Wow, things do get better, hope we make it
You got in it yet? It's a perfect time. I feel we are close to the new era of technology
i got into a pretty bad accident causing my right pinky finger to be amputated, i hope i can get a new prosthetic and feel there again
Prosthetic limbs have advanced so much, someday, losing an arm or a leg wont be nearly as much of an issue
problem is its probably gonna cost an arm and a leg

Could we, one day, grow/maintain our own skin over a prosthetic.

I never thought about that. A robotic skeleton with organic cover.
We definitely will make that sometime in the future. (As long as we don't start a nuclear war.)

Looking forward to the arrival of Johnny Silverhand
Yeah but like.
Can I attach it underneath my two arms for extra arms?
I mean it I guess it depends on how the brain would react to an extra limb

One day I’m gonna get my arm turned into this
Amazing but what threw me is when the hand went all the way around. Don’t know why it’s not a human hand
I mean it means it can be used for getting things upside down and it’s just easier to make
Wow. Amazing
The costs💀
Give it another century before these become commonly available
Kya India me bhi available hai

Why? If you going to get a prosthetic leg get the one that can grab things with instead of one you just step on.
