- Deus Ex's bionic limbs are being made for real. Eidos Montreal announced that they are working alongside Open Bionics and Razer to bring a series of affordable bionic hands to market.
Open Bionics will use 3D printing to bring these limbs to market, and will be providing its blueprints and designs royalty free, allowing consumers to modify and create them at home.
The use of bionic limbs is a central theme within the upcoming Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, whose protagonist, Adam Jensen, is equipped with his own bionic arm upon which Open Bionic's new prototype design is based on. - Наука та технологія
In my perspective, this is the kind of job that deserves all fame, money and glory, not the tv hosts, politicians, web influencers, etc.
now every gamer is "accidentally" going to lose an arm ahha
Tyler Durden hey its just determination for cosplay lol
Oups!
My arm just fell off. Oh well! Better get a replacement, because stitching it back would just be stupid and cliché.
i doubt it makes sense, our limbs are very advanced technologically speaking, a robotic arm might be more strong or resilient (not sure about it though) but even then if you want better performance just take an exoskeleton no need to lose a limb
Tyler Durden nah lol u think as of right now actual arms are better on controllers
Tyler Durden punished venom snake all the way!!!!!
Thank you for doing this for ones who lost things so important
robert pike
Yes because what else is f.ex. a teenager gonna do on a Friday afternoon without his right hand?
...
well I'm guessing your relating this comment to masturbation which is natural at the age of 16 or above the age of ten however I think he just put it their for showing his support to people who have deformities or lost a limb due to medical situation but if you were thinking ideally then in a idealistic mind the child or teen would be doing their best of enjoying life as a kid and a teenager which to have a good life you have to work hard and commit to your craft aka work if you don't show your bosses you can handle extra work they will just think you are just trash and put you on till for the rest of your life in my eyes
I'm good to be of assistance also did you see my comment for this video a mean if you look at game concepts you could technically with the right people create the game concepts into reality
Why is everyone always so focused on the amputees? I never had a hand to loose.
Robert Pike Except they DIDN'T this is a crock of shit! They finally finished and guess what? *It's not 3d printed, they aren't releasing the files and you will never see a 3d printed version!*
I have all of my limbs, I still want these.
I would soooooooooooooo get one if i was being paid for it
Sean Hurd same!!!😸😺
Sean Hurd same
Saaaaame
i want to remove my arm... right now
It just blows my mind that the makers of Deus Ex are making this happen; they are literally making their sci-fi come true (let's hope, without the bad stuff, hehe)
aug lives matter.
For the Deus Ex developer this is just a PR thing, they aren't really involved in anything other then the game.
And a way for the ones actually making the arms to get a nice, known design.
Like Neuropozyne dependance? Agreed.
i guess Im randomly asking but does anyone know a way to get back into an Instagram account??
I stupidly lost the password. I appreciate any help you can give me.
I definitely think we are moving to an age where people will get bionic limbs to increase their capabilities.
well... they alrady are "increasing their capabilities"
Nekogami-Crystal in what way?
Wickedy Witch No hand
As a die-hard science fiction fan since the time I could read, this has been a long time in the making and it feels absolutely brilliant to have the notions and ideas I had as a child vindicated in this manner. We are a hop, skip and a jump away from a future where replacing a body-part isn't only viable, but actually desirable. All we need is to figure out how to replicate all the smaller nuances, such as the sensation of touch, and even in that regard we're not too far off.
What a time to be alive.
I so get one for my pee pee lol that move on it own so it seek out the woman lol
I would go around saying: "Listen to me very carefully."
This is awesome
Hey, if you're advancing scientific research, might as well make it look dope as shit while you're at it.
Hell yeah.
Redgrave192 not so advanced but whatever
I also last my right hand three years ago.
My name is Asif Mehmood. I also last my right hand three years ago.
Aesthetics is just as important as functionality.
the deus ex paintjob is amazing
It's about time people were able to get COOL prosthetics! Thank you so much for helping those in need.
Just Awesome! I hate the "institutional" look that most prosthesis have. Great to see someone take cues from Hollywood/sport/automotive in design language.
I really hope this project is successful, as an already disabled person & future amputee I'd happily trade my useless legs & powered wheelchair for some "Open Bionic" legs :)
With the tech that's coming out I'm sure that you will be able to move faster and more fluent than people with normal limbs in the near future :]
I saw somewhere company that is working on robotic legs. Their CEO is guy without legs under knees and he is already using them and he walks quite normally. I forgot the name tho
I think I know who you mean, I found my way to a T.E.D Talk by him after watching the Open Bionics video. Unfortunately I don't own a really clever company or have endless amounts of money either like the person in question, nice to see something good coming out that will change peoples lives for the better :)
His name is Hugh Herr.
I always asked for this!
The blades are missing.
That's an addon package. Just $6,999.99!
LouSaydus watch yourself, clank.
2 praxis (+1for exploding blade)
No the aren't.... ;)
@@LouSaydus lol
I like how prosthetics went from “this is nice but I liked my hand” to “hey a new hand”
People like you are making the world better.
Thank you.
I want that bionic arm. Dont wanna cut of my right arm. Shit.
Magicnation/Magi I want to take off both my arms
You can have 3 or more arms :)
the next step is a feedback that you could "feel" that you hold something
Nick Chernuha They've already made one ;) But they're now working on a better one of course
well done guys. Not only are you helping people but prosthesis look cool as well.
Looks like anakin skywalker's robot hand
But lacking beautiful regrown human flesh covering it.
That's Luke's. Anakin had a full glove and gauntlet over it.
I love watching videos like this, because it shows there are companies out there that are there for the people and not just there to make as large as possible profits off other peoples misfortunes
I thought of becoming a design engineer to help develop these prosthetics. They’re so cool and they help enable people.
to be honest this is a total blessing! Especially to those who were born with it or tragic accidents. I for one have my left hand crushed in a machine press and struggle with even every day tasks think that it wouldnt even be possible. My hopes were lost and seeing this i can have something to look forward to in the future. I wish i could have the opportunity to try this project to see if it could better my life.
Seeing the intense evolution of the technology in such a short space of time is mind blowing.
Mark Freeman Seriously, it feels like yesterday my Virtual Assistant was a paperclip, and now its an AI that responds to voice.
This is brilliant! Would love to build a similar prosthetic that I can find my hand in and test the tech! Well done, guys!
That's so amazing, I'm so happy for these people that receve help from so kind smart guys!
Well more power to Open Bionics! You guys are doing a grand thing for a lot of amputees :)
The great thing about this film is that it shows how important psychology is in health-care. Having a cool-looking "bionic limb" is clearly a boost for the youngsters, and if this can be done at low cost by 3D printing: Wow!
Great to see them move with times within design
You're doing gods work soldier, keep it up
The bionic hands, arms, etc is quite creative.
Combine this with the tech that allows people to feel from their robot arm and this would be incredible even more
Absolutely amazing work. You should be very proud. Can you tell me what 3D scanner you are sending to potential recipients to scan their limbs?
wow its amazing watching this become a reality never stop improving what your doing.
Thank you guys for making a real difference in the world. How I said, if I should lose some limbs in war I will hit you guys up.
That is amazing I have all my limbs but if I had one of those I would make it look like the terminator arm
This is fantastic and is a poke in the eye for those big companies who have been ripping off people with missing limbs for years. I only heard English accents. Is this a UK company? Very best of luck for the future. I do hope that you get plenty of investors.
No it's American company
newspaniard my dad dlost a leg and has 3 prosthesis, including one thats for trial only and he hasnet been ripped off.easilly 140,000$ worth of prosthesis in our home and we didnt pay for anything, insurene took care of everythhing
Magic free money!
+thechum Don't worry, Trump will fix that. Insurance will be deleted. Everyone will pay thousands for routine checkups, or die for their poverty.
no need to talk shit about insurgency mate Sandstorm is looking really promising
That looks SICK!
A real step forward for prosthetics, definitely!
This is pretty cool. but what I want to see with it is what this one guy did with an old mind flex kit he rigged. He made a BCI for it and hooked it to a 3D printed arm and hooked up the wiring. Based on thoughts as normal, he was able to move the external 3D printed hand using his brain. My thought is if you manage to filter the frequencies to get the ones for the correct arm or hand, then moving your prosthetic will be as easy as moving a normal limb. It'll take time and all, but with practice and relatively cheap materials (again an old mind flex) you can build up and make it amazing. The future is already here, just have to put it into reality using ingenuity
I find all this really moving
I love this. turning a disability into having the capabilities to get the most advanced and interesting technology that makes them more unique and interesting than a everyday person instead of being seen as those with disabilities.
This is an amazing and wonderful thing you are doing. I was watching 3D printer videos and yours came up. I was interested in the 3D camera and software you use. I am wanting to 3D print parts i need and that information would help me greatly.
You guys are great!
This is revolutionary work. the most expensive one that they have is 399 pounds or $528. THAT IS CHEAP!! well done Open Bionics. I support all prosthetic/bionic work. Bravo. (I have all my limbs) but this is amazing work.
The free market wins again! Literally creating a new industry to respond to a need. Economically speaking, it's incredible!
It looks like the Terminator arm in the thumbnail of this video. This is so cool.
This is so cool, I've got all my limbs and even I want to wear one!
This is wonderfull! Thank you so much!
*Good Job People and your Making it Affordable for Them Too!!*
Totally mindblowing right now 🤩
For no reason, I've always wanted a bionic hand
Missing my hand, very excited to see the future
Here's looking forward to getting my vision augmented so I can justify wearing sunglasses on a night operation.
I had a friend who lost an arm and for my science fair project I designed a prosthetic and 3d printed it for him, he was so happy and I got first place
Simply fantastic - now fully able are thinking about amputation
your work is amazing,
really cool positive video and incredible product
So how are electrodes fitted to the arm, Are they by stickers only or by surgical methods
please let me know which apps did you use for 3D scanning
good Luke I hope you get it out for everyone who doesn't have a arm
This is incredible! When I was at University I was inspired to design and build my own low cost prosthetic arm and to help people. I made a video about how I did it on my channel & the files are open source
Good work, I would love to learn too
OMG that Blender3D screen caught me off guard
It's all fun and games, until a worldwide broadcasting signal causes your bionic limbs to go on a murderous rampage
Amazing people and we need more like this in world keep it up lads
Bloody Excellent.
It’s been 4 years. Imagine what they are doing now
This is just so cool on so many levels :)
David Sarif's dream is finally becoming a reality, and I couldn't be happier. I don't have any sort of disability, but I'm glad that the world is progressing.
I still have all my limbs and I still want one of these bionic arms
I'm building one of these for a friend. The next step these guys need to implement is micro fluidics.
Amazingly compact
I never asked for this, but I'm glad I saw this.
nothing is cooler than a real hand, but it is good that people get so far with technology that they can help people
I noticed blender. I am proud of you!
Off my arm goes! I’m getting one of these! What I’ll do with my old arm your asking? The answer is simple, craigslist!
This is so awesome to see it finally becoming affordable for people who need it. Also not sounding like a tool but this is one step closer to a warhammer power fist lol
I know I shouldn't be jealous when I still have all my limbs, but I'm jealous. These things are amazing and so cool
Keep up the good work. For humanity.
I had no idea 3D printing was even capable of something like this damn!
God bless you people for doing this!
I am lucky enough to have both my arms, but I still think this would be amazing to try out. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t want to lose my arm or anything like that, but I still think it’d be an incredible experience to know what it.... *feels* like.
This is so amazing 💖
With the advancement in metal 3D printing, I wonder if that will allow them to make stronger prosthetics, while maintaining a low cost.
Es muy ilustrativo su video los felicito
cool I hope they can do it
great ! thanks
Can you make it so it doesn't fully extend, like what if someone wanted to make the bloods sign? Does it do that?
I just wondering where about are they making it this hand 🤚 I really need one. Coz my right hand have lost ???? Please respond me , or any link thanks
This would be Winter Soldier's Left arm.
can't wait for it
dude that's awesome
I'm missing my left hand and got hype when I saw this, but was disappointed when you said it wasn't ready yet. So is there an update to your timeframe?
I wonder if they have thought about getting the 3D Printing community involved to maybe outsource the printing of the parts to multiple printers ? Just a thought :)
I have always wanted a prostetic arm, i do have both of my arms but i have always wanted one, i really can not wait for the future.
Razer ist Just there to make the chroma RGB parts and the Gaming functionality ;D
me: **sees this**
also me: **looks at hacksaw with evil intent**
i know this isn't the best thing to think of but me as a fan of fantasy and anime im like "were getting closer and closer to auto mail and cyborgs" but really this is super cool
What kind of 3D printer you are using????
I wish I could do something like this
