@@Garnulad47she was considered for DLC but the time and budget unfortunately didn't allow them to add her due to deadlines. They are also trying to finish up the DLC so they can move on to other projects so unless Atlus decides to release another version in the future that's just her own game, we probably won't be seeing it outside of fan mods.

Which I assume being "blessed" by The Fool, is what grants Persona protags the "The Wildcard" Ability, as we have yet in mainline games to see a Persona protag with the Wildcard Ability who does not start off with a Persona of "The Fool" Major Arcana. Fitting, since in a Tarot card reading "The Fool" represents potential. Like how those with the Wildcard Ability, have the "potential" to be able to house multiple Personas in their heart at the same time
You guys are so crazy, I still can’t believe this level of dedication. FeMC is my reason to get into Persona franchise, so P3P was my first persona game. Ever since the persona dev stated that adding female protagonist is impossible in the interview of persona 5, I’ve already lost hope from them. So when many people hoping FeMC to come in Reload, I’ve already knew that they wouldn’t do it. But you guys… You guys proved them wrong. If I show this to myself years ago, I wouldn’t believe this mod. Especially that kotone cutscene mod that just released yesterday. So, thank you all for your hard work on this project. I hope it will continue smoothly until the end.

The project really seems to be coming around so far. I was watching a video showing the previous version the other night and I thought it was really cool but still had a few nitpicks with it, like with the skirt looking weird or the run cycle being a little too fast. But this update seems to have refined all those aspects quite a bit, and even adds other cools stuff I didn't even think of, like the RNG music option, or even having so much of the settings be optional. I swear, with the dedication and passion Kotone fans have, pretty soon they'll even have the cutscenes reanimated (I jest but at this point it I wouldn't be surprised to see it happen).

Ok, it looks good. I just hope those skeletons could be customised. Like those hands on a skirt, change to normal walking hands with one hand put on the bag.
Animations were difficult to change for a while, but they've just started to process to add custom ones. More refined anims should come relatively soon

The Moonlight Daydream opening is from another mod. (the Kotone Cutscenes Project to add reanimated FeMC cutscenes to Portable). A lot of the people who worked on that mod are working on this one, though
When ATLUS refuses to deliver what we want, you can count on the fans to take matters into their own hands and deliver what ATLUS won't give us. Fans of popular franchises in general, when the company refuses to give them what they want, they take matters into their own hands and create it themselves. This is especially true of SEGA owned franchises, though it seems that the Persona Kotone fans are insanely passionate of what they care about, to put in the work to create that won't be delivered to them. I'm happy that Kotone fans are able to achieve their desires through hard work. Happiness apparently, is not given, it's earned. Especially for Kotone fans.

They've just cracked event editing, so it seems that the male romances are possible. I think Theo specifically is the furthest along, as he has a portrait, a volunteer VA, and a WIP 3D model

@@Kirinet There are Japanese voices in the mod currently! The current voice lines are taken from P3P and PQ2, and there's a VA in the process of recording higher-quality JPN voice lines.
I wish... but likely it's just not financially feasible to do. It's not just making a new skin and animations, it's the voice lines, the FemC only special events, and then the projected sales figures which most likely won't cover all of that, since it's not like they can sell it as a new game, it would be DLC, and how much can they even charge for that? Nahh it won't happen...

Japanese companies never do that. They are too prideful to ever accept anything someone else made and acknowledge it as good. By putting someone else's works, no even just _ideas_ into their games they would "lose face". This is why Japanese devs dont learn from other devs and rarely improve their games with already obvious better solutions that exist on the market. Japanese fighting games for example didn't implement rollback netcode for nearly a decade because someone else invented it and they could only change netcode if they somehow "naturally" came up with it themselves. Japanese fighting games suffered for so long because of pride. Sega is sort of an exception, because its western half is so influential. Sonic Mania being made by Sonic fan modders is basically an impossible rarity that goes against everything the old men in the Japanese gaming industry stand for.
What I love about this mod is that for months Atlus has just been having a moan about how hard it is to make games and there's no chance Kotone will be in this game. And then the fans said "ight bet" and got this much done within a year.
Eh, i think they just wanted to focus on other stuff. If they added Kotone, then they'd have to delay the game, the answer DLC, everything. They'd have to reanimate, test, and basically make the game twice. When they added Kotone in portable, it was easy. That was a PSP game, no 3d overworld graphics, no animated cutscenes. It was more like a visual novel. But reload is waaaaaay bigger and complex.

I think what throws me off are some of the poses. Like especially in the school section I notice Kotone uses the exact same mannerisms as Makoto. The hand in the pocket looks really weird with this skirt that doesnt have visible pockets. Or the weird side-hand wave during conversations. I know there are other priorities, but animations that seems more like Kotone would be nice. Otherwise this is already absurdly in depth and good. To hell with Atlus for cutting corners. Modders really care more about P3 than the actual company.
@@maybenic She also does that little fist bump in the air in victory animations sometimes. I think that would be a nice supportive gesture during dialogue.
@@ealain7600 they are both polearms. the only difference is naginata can be used as a slashing weapon unlike most spears. I just use spear as an umbrella term.

I have a suggestion! Back when I had faith in Atlus to give us femc, I originally thought kotone would end up with yoshizawa's phantom suit. Seeing as they included cendrillon as dlc. I'm really hoping you can replace joker's phantom suit with yoshizawa's!

The P3P Kotone cutscenes team is planning to do the 2D Reload cutscenes in conjunction with this mod (after taking a well-deserved break). In the meantime there will be a mod to add the P3P cutscenes to Reload as placeholders. I'm less certain about the process of the pre-rendered cutscenes but there are plans to change them as well
Hey, the modders don't appreciate their mod being used as a weapon to bash Atlus. Initially, they wanted to include her, but the time and money limitations didn't make it possible. I'm a FeMC fan too and won't buy Reload because of it, at least not until the mod is out, but you gotta stop saying that
@@hue_tjark I think you need to draw a line between the devs and Atlus. The dev team wanted femC, Atlus told them no, because thery didn't want to invest the money. Atlus does not deserve to be defended. The dev team though can't be blamed for following the higher ups demands. It's a pretty cut and dry case of creatives vs. executives, as with all cut content in games.
The singer in Time inhaling throughout the song is a bit distracting, is that on purpose? Also not a huge fan of how she's almost whispering, instruments drown the vocals at certain points. It fits in the night version, which is supposed to sound soft and relaxing, but not in the day version, which is supposed to sound happy and energetic.
If you add femc social links like with RIO, I will pay you gladly. Probably it is too hard and not in your plans, but if I am mistaken, please let me know.

Probably an innate issue with Makoto's skeleton still unable to handle the existence of skirts combined with the rigid requirements to use existing animations. Once custom animations are fully figured out, the skirt will look the same as everyone else's.

It took me 12 years to notice this, but Kotone's hair clips are two X's, which is the roman numeral 20, the number of the Judgement arcana

I like the idea that the school uniform skirts have pockets, so I'm cool with Kotone taking advantage of that.

What I love about this mod is that for months Atlus has just been having a moan about how hard it is to make games and there's no chance Kotone will be in this game.
And then the fans said "ight bet" and got this much done within a year.

Eh, i think they just wanted to focus on other stuff.
If they added Kotone, then they'd have to delay the game, the answer DLC, everything. They'd have to reanimate, test, and basically make the game twice.
When they added Kotone in portable, it was easy. That was a PSP game, no 3d overworld graphics, no animated cutscenes. It was more like a visual novel. But reload is waaaaaay bigger and complex.

Wow! That portrait's absolutely beautiful. Actually stunning artwork.
I think what throws me off are some of the poses. Like especially in the school section I notice Kotone uses the exact same mannerisms as Makoto. The hand in the pocket looks really weird with this skirt that doesnt have visible pockets. Or the weird side-hand wave during conversations. I know there are other priorities, but animations that seems more like Kotone would be nice.
Otherwise this is already absurdly in depth and good. To hell with Atlus for cutting corners. Modders really care more about P3 than the actual company.

@@maybenic She also does that little fist bump in the air in victory animations sometimes. I think that would be a nice supportive gesture during dialogue.

I just use spear as an umbrella term.

I have a suggestion! Back when I had faith in Atlus to give us femc, I originally thought kotone would end up with yoshizawa's phantom suit. Seeing as they included cendrillon as dlc. I'm really hoping you can replace joker's phantom suit with yoshizawa's!

It's something they're looking at and they do think it's possible, but it's not a priority right now and probably won't be for some time.

are you guys considering doing something akin to the kotone cutscenes project with the pre-rendered or animated scenes? I love the mod already but I wonder if you were ever considering it once you iron out the main mod
The P3P Kotone cutscenes team is planning to do the 2D Reload cutscenes in conjunction with this mod (after taking a well-deserved break). In the meantime there will be a mod to add the P3P cutscenes to Reload as placeholders.
I'm less certain about the process of the pre-rendered cutscenes but there are plans to change them as well

@@hue_tjark I think you need to draw a line between the devs and Atlus. The dev team wanted femC, Atlus told them no, because thery didn't want to invest the money. Atlus does not deserve to be defended. The dev team though can't be blamed for following the higher ups demands. It's a pretty cut and dry case of creatives vs. executives, as with all cut content in games.

The singer in Time inhaling throughout the song is a bit distracting, is that on purpose?
Also not a huge fan of how she's almost whispering, instruments drown the vocals at certain points. It fits in the night version, which is supposed to sound soft and relaxing, but not in the day version, which is supposed to sound happy and energetic.

There was a mod for P3P that changed Orpheus into a female version for femC. But that was never an official thing.

Granted they never said its actually impossible to do. They just said it would take alot of time to just get her in the game. Even more time than The Answer DLC. Plus itd cost a bunch of money for just getting her in.

Probably an innate issue with Makoto's skeleton still unable to handle the existence of skirts combined with the rigid requirements to use existing animations. Once custom animations are fully figured out, the skirt will look the same as everyone else's.
So lame they make definitive remake and dont include female protag
