@@NatalieRetroStuff 6:01типовая ошибка сборщика на которой умерло много материнок, у тебя мать не закреплена в крайних отверстиях, при монтаже шлейфов плата сильно изгибается, это могло привести к разрыву печатных проводников и выходу платы из строя. Когда так вставляешь шлейфы придерживай плату пальцами снизу (ну как твой мальчик🤭) для уменьшения/исключения черезмерного изгиба печатной платы.
I've been around forever, and that's a new one on me, too. Dual 184-pin AND dual 166-pin on the same board is wacky as F. That's so strange, it makes the purple seem normal.
My first PC had an Intel Pentium 200MMX CPU and the Motherboard had two type of RAM slots, EDO RAM and SDRAM. In 1996, EDO RAM was the type of memory that most PCs used, so I've only bought the SDRAM later.

You really had a cool Retro PC. It's great that you remembered the names of all the components. I would also like to build such a version. But such parts are much harder to find than what I show in my videos.
thats a fast pc compared to my first one from 1996 I think! Intel pentium 2, 300mhz it had 8mb 266mhz ram and a 16 mb gpu!best of all was... it had 20mb sata harddrive!
I build a lot of PCs and I'm rarely able to apply thermal paste with such precision! You managed to put a very thin and very even layer of thermal paste! I'm impressed!
That's not the sound of Windows XP loading, but the sound of the disk running on those metal platters and loading files :-D Even if you had Win 7, it would have the same sound 🙂
I remember ECS mobos. I used to work on this stuff back in 98 99ish. These rolled steel pc chassis used to cut the fingers easily, especial the drive cages and the metal parts that covered the drive bays on the inside. Pretty much the only color you could get for a self-build pc at the time was off white, beige with grey accents of some kind. I used to love the motherboard case badges some companies like ASUS or Supermicro had. There was a clean smell whenever you would open up those anti-static motherboard bags for the 1st time. I was a big AMD fan in that day, VA-503+ Mainboard made by a company called FIC. AMD K6-2 cpu, Ati AGP card of some kind. That mainboard was versatile. Love this stuff!
What is crazy is how close to my first PC, this is. I got my first PC in 2003. I just had an AMD Athlon XP instead. Even crazier is I could maybe run 12 virtual machines with specs like this in my current PC, and still have room to play a modern game. How far we've come.

The only think missing is a 300 Baud Modem to connect to the internet LOL... Well, 2000ish, probably a 56k Modem... LOL... I started on a 300 Baud Modem in 1986 on my Tandy 1000 with an 8088 CPU... This build takes me back....

You state in the video that the board is a ECS P4VXASD2, but it's actually a ECS P4VXASD2+ v5.0, which has faster FSB, faster ATA, and 3 onboard USB headers instead of 2. The manual says you can't use DDR and SDR simultaneously, and you have all J2A/B/C/D and J3A/B/C/D connectors closed with jumper strips right next to the RAM and above the blue IDE connector, so DDR is enabled and SDR is disabled. I know because I have that same board. The BIOS shows 524288 KB, so it's only "seeing" the 2x 256MB DDR.
If you want, I can get you a good AGP card and send it to you. I have an Ati 9550, I think it is cold solder welded, there are some defects in the image. But it works. If you can get it repaired, I can give it to you. Or I can get another one from the second-hand market and send it to you.
You cannot use SD and DDR memories at same time. You can use one of them at same time. I have this motherboard's red PCB one. This motherboard doesn't support USB 2.0, it support usb 1.1 only. I recommend purchase USB 2.0 PCI card and install it. USB 1.1 is too slow 🐢🐢

That type of motherboard supports up to 2 GB of RAM, since the Intel Celeron processor holds up to 2 GB of RAM as maximum amount.

It played NFS3 and Quake3 decently.
It didn't become slow, the pc wasn't fast enough for the updated programs and websites.

I would always use a brand new PSU. Older ones are likely to have issues and could cause damage

Natalie, i recommend magic sponge (melamine) to clean cases, just make sure its damp and don't press too hard or you can remove the paint :D
Lighter fluid is great for sticky tape marks or glue

Be careful wiping the inside of cases, especially older ones. I've sliced my fingers open more than once 😂 some of those edges are razor sharp!

L' estomac vide et a moitié nue dans une pièce dédié. Pas très productif pour bien des gens. Effroyable, un trou sans fond. A la mercit des update. Et des chapeaux pointus sur un pied en fessant deux trois tour sur soit même a moitié nu au yeux des voisins horrifiés. Haaaaaa
