WG really should do much more vehicle balancing. Not just nerfing op tanks but buffing old, outdated and underperforming ones.
Better nerfing op tanks as to increase the powercreep
Asking WG for balance is like asking Santa for presents
it is way better to nerf the couple of OP tanks than buffing everything else. so much faster and cheaper regarding recourses. they even could give the players with OP tanks the option, we either nerf the OP ones or buff everyting else. even as a player it would be more interesting to get OP tanks nerfed because that means more resourses will stay available for fun gamemodes for example or new maps/rebalancing excisting maps.
They promised more waves of rebalance with more vehicles affected, but we haven't seen them as of yet..
And obviously they'll never nerf premiums unless it's pre-release.
They really need to buff some older premiums, tanks like the FCM 50t just have no reason to exist anymore.
I’d love the mutant M6 to get a slight hull armor buff and add just enough to to the face turret so that at least if it looks at you, the only weak spot should be the top like it is now. If standard shelves can punch through its massive fat face before you can really aim to hit them back…. Then atleast buff the gun handling.
The Lowe, maybe it doesn’t need to aim so long, maybe it could turn a bit faster and accelerate better. Maybe it could reload just a bit faster.
The M-51, Sherman with the 105. Maybe it could accelerate a bit better, have a bit better gun handling, penetrate a little bit more on the standard shell or at least on the premium shell. Maybe it could see a bit farther or hide a bit better.

all they needed to do is to add bigger cupola on turret and everything would be fine
or just make it weaker, the cupola has like 55-95mm of armor so the actual pennable part is very small

Same with the Kran, all it needed was cupolas to be about 50mm taller.
view range should get changed a crossed the board so it goes back to LTs being the vision and everyone else can't really max it out. Same thing with radio. Absolutely cut the radio ranges down so it actually has a purpose in the game. Right now radio stuff is just there to make you grind something.

Light tanks should have around 420-430 meters view range at tier X, mediums should be around 380-390 and heavies and tds around 340-350. That would force players to sacrifice mobility for view range or viceversa.
You just need to make commanders vision system light tanks only equipment to make them relevant again.
I agree. Nothing more annoying that getting suicided by the enemy LT when I’m in my LT and some heavy in the back gets all the spotting while I die.
@@KingKobra98 take a look at these new map events wg is catering to the heavy meta since there player base is getting worse, as more better players are giving up. its not a tactical game anymore its who ever has the better overall stats wins (insert 277/vz/wz5a)

Keep in mind that Chief players like me will spam full gold, run all bond equipment with an 8 skill crew. They don't do that for most other tier Xs, so a good part of that 1% over the average win rate comes from the setup itself.
Actually you should spend your BP tokens on the Lorraine 50t before the end of the year because that will make me feel less silly about getting mine last year.
No. 279e also still trolls around the battlefield, eating everything and taking 0 damage.
All the nerf did was make it so it takes a little longer to win.

If you are one of those muppets who sits and just shoots frontally with autoaim instead of aiming downwards at the front plate, the sides of the front plates or shoot at the cupola then it's just a git gud situation.
To be fair, it was nerfed enough, since it's not used in advances and CW at all anymore. But still weird nerfs, the gun was always the worst part of Chief.

This tank used to be in like every tier 10 battle now it’s a rarity just a few months later
It may feel like less Chieftains and Obj279e's, but now its worse because it also feels like all those tryhard players are now in their tier VIII premium BZ's doing 850 damage a pop to tier X's, the game is flooded with those OP things.
The fact that the chieftian with bond rammer and everything has the same dpm of a SuperConq without any equipment speaks dividends
I actually do like the Lorraine 50t bcs of its high standard pen. Can shot the Maus and most tier 8 heavies through the turret, and even the front plate of the obj 279.
QB would be surprised how bad view ranges my team always have... but then it matches their reaction times
This vehicle is formidable at Tier X but there is no reason it or the 279e should see Tier VIIIs. They made exceptions for wheeled vehicles, they can do it for these two.

I actually got the Lorr 50t. Haven't taken it for a spin yet, so, no idea if I'd like it. But, I'm a tank collector. I had all other tanks. So, I had the tokens to spent and increase my collection. ;)
Fake pixel tank collector. What can you do with those now? Nothing. They have no value in real life. What a waste of money.
The main issue with the Chieftain: It's fast, and it's turret is literally over-powered with a cupola that barely can even qualify for a cupola.
WG balancing department: Nerf speed, penetration, reload and traverse, but don't touch the stupid turret and equally stupid "cupola"
I use coted optics on my type 5 and I got 2 marks I get lots of spotting cause I am so tall its easy assistance.

Thgis makes me more sad than anything else. The enemy team was garbage, heavies away from the city, so this t95 could pick off everyone one by one. The Leo with premium bouncing twice on side armor...and even coming from the front instead of the "smart" play, from behind, breaks my heart. That should have been a clear loss.
Well, if the enemies can't aim properly the Chieftain player is hardly the one to blame.
yeah i dont find anything special on this game besides some tourists on the enemy team giving free win to the other team + the free hp ofc
@@casuscnactus4864 If they cannot pen the side armor, the biggest part of a tank, with premium, the highest pen possible...i say that is not entirely up to the player alone to fail to damage him.
@@KubusSc7 By having been through this experience multiple times I can tell you that it is about aiming. The lower part of the side is angled. We have quite a few tanks in the game who are built that way and aiming for the upper half of the hull side will result in a penetration. And don't come tell me its down to RNG when you are sticking your gun into his side.
@@casuscnactus4864 You identified perfectly why new tanks are mostly shit because too strong armored. Back in the day tanks had strengths and weaknesses. That has been turned upside down. I play this game since 2013. It was amazing the first years. It got worse year after year. The Chieftain and 279 e are the best but not the only examples of that.

Yes, the Nerfs certainly were enough. It's still a good random tank which is special to others, but wont just farm everything like its free. Also, Clan Wars meta shift proofs this further - Previously you'd use 10-15 Chiefs on a team, pretty much regardless of the map, but now there's so much more variety and barely any chieftains played at all. T110E5's, 60TP's, Obj. 907's and so on are more used now and the Clan Showdowns also prove that the top clans do indeed think the Chieftain is no longer worth playing (In terms of clan wars) Yet the tank remains special enough to be played on randoms (As long as you try to forget what it used to be like "back in the days") Also, 5-6 Years of single tank dominated meta is way too much.
so true, it is now much more fun to play advance and stronghold with a bigger variety of vehicles from the normal tech tree :)
I think the nerfes were enough, these reard tanks are usually played by the "Crème de la Crème" of the players, so the results wont really mirror how strong the vehicle is. Gr8 vid! Loved it QB!!!
The changes were perfect. Its just simply a strong tier 10 now
They nerfed the wrong thing, it just needed some sort of turret weakspot, a larger cuppola would have been fine, the HE nerf is what caused all these problems, at least when you could do 100-200 with HE it felt like you could actually do something, now, once its hull down, it just seems like there is nothing you can do, and thats just same tier, let alone tier 8s.

Meanwhile EBRs are still erratically zooming everywhere being almost unhittable. Also the wheels eat up tons of damage.

Considering how much less I can see Chieftain and UFOs on the battlefield, and when I see them, they are performing much worse than previously, then yes, I think the nerf was adequatly enough.
Actually QB I bought the Lorraine 50t and I believe it is the most fabulous vehicle in the game
I don't know where the statistics at the end came from, in the last 500 fights I met 2 Chieftains. Before there was no struggle to not be at least one. This proves that it is no longer played, it is not what it used to be and you lose silver even if you win. The last CW final marked the end of this tank.
As someone who owns both the 279e and chief but has lost interest in playing the game for the most part, I wish instead of giving out tanks which are just best in class they would instead be some super wacky gimmick tanks. I can just imagine a manticore with a 183mm gun or a tank that's whole thing is built around ramming seeing as Wargaming really don't seem to care what they put into the game now anyway
Something like the cobra. Sure its broken too but its not straight up op, and its unique enough fo be a great reward. Same goes for the shitpak. Stuff like that should be reward tanks.

@@marasenhayeah I'd say it's akin to the VK 28 back in the day. Worst in class for everything comparatively but if you used the gun it was still very good.
Looking for nerfs on the BZ-176 and the Cobra as they are more game-breaking for lower tiers at the moment…
Also wargaming should prohibit platoons of these vehicles from going into battle…
For example triple 279e’s, triple BZ-176 or triple Cobras are not good for the game!
The only "fantastic job" WG did is nerfing these POS. On average when an OP tank is nerfed most players will drop it like it was poisoned, hence why neither Chieftain nor Object are seen in random battles post-nerf.
I think the nerf is good enough. For the random queue it's still strong but for competitive play it's very underwhelming.
this nerf job is nothing compare to dismantling obj 268v4, the bobjet is no fun anymore

I think this tank is alright how it is now, at the end of the day it’s a reward tank, so it can’t be too bad. If it is incredible with an incredible player, but meh with an average player, that’s great.
As long as we can sell it for $3MM+ credits it’s a nice gift.
Still an OP vehicle but also an OP player. Very impressed with the way he saved that teammate in the FV4005, even if he only delayed the inevitable.
Its not, you see nerfing doesnt help when the players playing it are smart. Im confused and feel it was ignorant to leave out the VK just chilling at the top. Again a ok tank that only the best can play, so OF COURSE its op when you meet it.
the fact that they decided to nerf this thing but left out the S Conq - something that could actually be played on modes like Onslaught - absolutely baffles me. not saying that Chieftains nerfs were unnecessary, but if you were to rebalance one annoying hulldown British HT, why don't you do both of them? also, the main thing that makes this so annoying to play against was the armor layout, and that didn't get change one bit. speed and firepower are just cherries on top. now it will still steamroll you, it's just that it will do it in a slightly slower fashion. when was the last time WG completely reworked an entire tank anyway? IS-3A?

Grinded 2 marathons so far… t25 pilot and wz 114… i think i‘ll never do that again… t25 pilot is/ will get buffed from what i heard but wz 114 is still in a horrible state

unless they make a bigger weakspot on the turret, no, WG have not nerfed the Chief enough. its still a boss hulldown and on ridges, and you need full 2 key to play against it.

btw ramming dmg at less than 30 kmh should be nothing. the physics of that are just dumb.
I think it's rather hilarious people compare the Kranvagn to this tank...we shouldn't be comparing the best tanks to it in the first place. Compare this joke of a tank to the VK that he killed in the beginning.

Tanks like this is the reason I dont even bother to play Tier10. Its easily the most unfun tier in the game.
Must of been enough, I dont see them every game now. Same with the 279. Maybe see 1 a week instead of 1-2 each game
all i see in "good" games are people getting very accurate shots while bouncing a shit ton.
Nerfing the chieftain sends a big message that WG might actually care for the good of the game instead of blatanly making money.
Of course I understand that most premium tanks are bought with real money, but it shouldnt mean that those tanks are pay2win or that its stats will always remain the same. Since new players like me usually dont feel comfortable to use 30-40€ to buy one competitive premium tank for a game you dont know if you even like that much.
Overall very happy seeing this and the view range idea sounds very interesting. Bigger cupolas are always welcome in my opinion so you wouldnt always have to load gold, but knowing WG monetary strategy it might not be so likely.
The message it actually sends is buy a premium tank and we won't nerf it. And premium tanks now, unlike in the early days are always better the tech tree.
QB explained it succinctly in a recent video from him. he said "WoT is pay-to-win... but only by like 10%". so ya a premium player is 10% more effective and has a 10% combat bonus applied in perpetuity, but this *does* *not* fundamentally break the game.
it's kind of like in Civilization if the enemy civ has a barracks and every legionary is +10%. the enemy has an advantage but with good player skill/positioning you will still win
@@Retrofire-47 well if mm would share teams properly then it wouldnt be that bad. but if mm puts most of meta tanks in one team with good players and old tanks which are played for nostalgia in other and you get the typical result in random queue. the meta team wins with 15-3.
I'm glad they've nerfed this and the 279E on PC because they're both still insanely OP on console
I'm a firm believer in turreted tanks having weak points above the neckline. At least give players a chance for spanking a heavy tank.

The gold spam, even on console, is just aggravating to deal with. Removes so much skill and the point of heavy armored tanks just makes the game unfun anymore.
Heavy tanks are basically balanced around gold ammo. What you can do to maus or e100 without gold if they hide their lower plate?
These 2 nerfs were so unnecessary . premium tanks and the power creep needed nerfs not these 2 reward tanks
The nerf was far too much. The strength of the tank is no longer commensurate to the effort it takes to earn the tank.

I wanna play WOT again, how do i install wargaming centre. Tried multiple time and still keep showin error 'cannot established connection'.

short answer, no, it isnt enough. it shouldnt even be allowed to meet tier 8 tanks at all.
Im a full free to play player. Never bought anything in the game. Every battle in tier 8 and higher with a non max tank is just pure pain. Half cant even be penned with gold so you either lose credits or lose more credits for repair. Tier 5 is ruined by the lefh. Im not surprised that for f2p tier 6 or 7 is the most fun and balanced (with exceptions ofc). Game balance is aparently not often discussed in WoT
No, the turret still as broken as before. This is what I would do
- gave it a weak spot like tier IX premium Chief
- neft the dmg to 400 but have slightly lower dpm than S.Con
- gave it pre-neft speed back except the revert speed.
LOL I have at least 2-3 bond turboes without playing any of the special game modes...

Heavy tanks should not be able to have full view range without at least coated optics. I know I would myself complain, but it is not their job, even T10.

To be honest, these reward tanks are the reason I quit playing for almost a year. It's just not that much fun anymore, why should reward tank be OP is just so dumb. Most players dont even aim to get one anyways, cause it's rediciously hard to get in the first place.

It is no longer the “one tank that does it all” vehicle that it once was. That’s why you no longer see it at all in competitive gameplay, there are simply better role specific tanks out there now.
What a typical Chieftain player. Full gold. This is so unimaginably dumb. Those players prolly could get Workshop tanks like the Lion for free from all the credits they waste. In times with intuition and where you can choose your ammo loadout at the beginning of the battle, there is literally no reason to play full gold. I bet some of those players buy gold currency and then convert it to credits to be able to play tanks with full-gold.

No, it wasn't - still no weakspots.
When I see the Chief I always think WG was nerfing the wrong thing. Before the nerf a Chief could go hull down and slaughter enemies and after the nerf it also can go hull down and slaughter enemies. It just takes a bit longer now. If I had the chance for a little wish I would have given this tank a small frontal weakspot, too.
Tanks like the Chief are the reason, why my friends and I stoped playing tier 10 nearly completely. It makes no fun to have a tank in front, that is not possible to penetrate. And for all players who say: "If it is in front, just go to somewhere else." I can just say, that you don't have the chance to switch position in all tanks. If you like to play an E-100, you are in a postion and if you are unlucky, that the enemy Chief was going to the same one, you are just f...ed. So, for me tier 10 is nearly dead and I have fun at tier 6 these days.... ;-)
ok, read the patch notes and dont complain, plus many tanks can go hulldown and you can't do anything, so just don't voice your opinions
You know you don't have to stay in front of a hulldown Chieftain with your E-100?
that the chieftain is invincible when its hulldown is not a unique trait. The Super Conquerer can do that as well. What made the Chieftain so damn OP was its speed. It had the mobility of a medium, but armor of a heavy tank.
@@robinkhn2547 I think the turret of the Conquerer is not so strong, because it has still a kind of a weakspot. Of course, if you can use full gun depression, it is the same. But if not, Chiefs turret is stronger.

They can nerf it all they like, not gonna get cause I’m not a cheater. Booster clans and teams have not been addressed in the update. An easy fix to stop dropping in games but WG nerfs unattainable tanks by normal players.
