Another good video! My information on CTS bd1N is it’s a good mid range steel. The N stands for the use of nitrogen in the formula rather than chromium. Both alloys add rust resistance but Nitrogen yields a finer grain and therefore adds toughness or resistance to breaking or chipping edges. So really high rust resistance and toughness, but suffers a little in edge retention. However it is known to be extremely easy to sharpen and is many times recommended for beginners due to ease of maintenance. More commonly used in high quality kitchen knives and is comparable in “level” to VG 10. Welcome to the cutting edge “rabbit hole”!

The recent Police 4 lightweight dark burgundy in cts-pd#1 Ticn coated is a one and done for sure. Fair price also…..love Spyderco 🎉

I put a lighter spring in my Manix, totally changed the knife! My fingers were sore from the original spring. It's one of my favorites😊

I got me a stronger spring in mine because I’m so buff. My fingers were so sore from moving too fast with the lighter spring.. this is not one of my favorites😊

Bd1n takes a great keen edge also. Good stuff. Is there better? Of course, but it’s a solid steel.
