I think she only joined the show cause she finished Ugly Betty on the same network and they offered her DH after, so it all came down to timing. It would have been way better if she joined in Season 6 after Edie died though, her character felt like she was trying to fill a similar role, and I would have taken her over Katherine and her story any day.

Bree is a control freak who likes to handle every household chore herself and perform it with elegant flair. Gabby hates doing housework and cooking but loves to be in a lovely and clean home, and she probably wouldn’t bitch about being served gourmet cuisine (unlike Brees ungrateful S1 brood). Gabby is a wild card and lots of fun and she’d keep Bree from winding herself too tight - Gabby would never let Bree turn back into season one emotionally detached OCD Bree because unlike Rex she would express her bad feelings LIKE SHE DID WITH CARLOS and Bree would show willingness to work on them LIKE SHE DID WITH REX. IN SHORT gabby and Bree are perfect for each other the end.
I wonder if they didn't remove edie britt and added vanessa to the show earlier on i think it could have been more hilarious combination of the two. Its like having two samantha jones in the show ❤️
