I don’t think people realize that Rockstar isn’t focusing on recreating a city they’re recreating the entire state of Florida which Vice City is just a part of.
They won't be doing north florida or the panhandle, just the southern and coastal areas probably

I don’t want another island. I just want a big piece of playable land connected to a piece of blocked off land mass to make it feel like an actual state and not somewhere in the middle of the ocean.

The reason for the maps being islands and not being connected to blocked of landmasses is so there isn’t an area on the map you can’t visit.
They did that with GTA III and some people were unhappy with a portion of the map they couldn’t visit. Why model and build something if the player will never interact with when you can put your time and resources into something that the player can use

Cyberpunk did a pretty good job, had rural areas on top of the city and high class/poor areas.
I think more emphasis on developed cities with more buildings you can enter would be ideal. RDR2 does wildlife and nature very well, so I’m not missing any of that, but I AM missing entering any building I want in rockstar fanes
getting a motorcycle and going through the mountains with no idea what’s coming was such a fun time
Ya except I was Disappointed That Discovering That GTA V isn’t all of the Tristate of What was San Andreas and the Desert 🏜 state of Robada Bone county desert with Las Ventura’s missing oh and Northern San Andreas being San Fierro on the way to Sacramento and Oregon state.☹️

yeah fr. I love Los Santos. Kind of a shame that we're getting Vice City and not the best of everyting. I.e. access to all the cities via an actual plane from the airport. Would be crazy to just be able to fly to the GTA 5 map on GTA 6.

If they represent a single city exactly like in real life, the map would already be 10x bigger than the GTA 5 map, I don't want quantity, I want quality. If they represent Miami in the real scale of 1:1, the map will be about 50x bigger than the GTA 5 map. The distance between the Alamo Sea and the city of Los Angeles in real life is 189 km, and the map in GTA 5 is 12 km long. You are dumb.
The thing is Rockstar gets you to make those empty areas points of interests. I have no idea how many times I have driven through the mountains or climb Mt. Chilliad but one thing I do know is Rockstar utilizes their entire map even the empty barren parts.

GTA San Andreas knocked this concept completely out the park. So many varied locations with transitional areas in between. Blew my mind as a kid
It was great having multiple cities. Airports, boats and planes actually made sense back then.

@@Clandestine369 there's definitely a lot to do in the water, but I'm from South Florida and surfing isn't a big thing here. The Atlantic Ocean is a lot more older and has much smaller waves than the Pacific Ocean. I'm sure it happens, but in my whole life I don't think I've ever seen someone surfing proper in our ocean

I absolutely loved the mountain , they are completely unpredictable to travel through and you could never memorize them with so many variables. Personally played the game for years just wanting to drive through them with a pick up.
Yeah driving through the mountains on dirt roads is still one of the best parts of GTA. Driving down a canyon road mannn, or jumping off into a gorge etc

it's crazy how the San Andreas map was technically smaller yet it felt much bigger than gta 5 due to variety. goes to show you that you can make the smallest maps feel massive with the right use of space
Swamps are the best place to explore in RDR2. GTA VI will definitely have Swamp areas in vice City. Imagine exploring during midnight with Gators and ghostly stuff lurking around.
And the best place to explore in GTA V too, Fort Zancudo placed close to the swamp

I'm honestly hoping they include the swamps and ; wishful thinking for this next part, take some mechanics from the snow runner game and actually have the swamp actually effect what vehicles can be driven through that area and how the vehicle performs. Not asking for a driving simulator but at least some aspects taken from offroad simulators

I hope they make the wilderness actually interesting like it is in Red Dead Redemption 2. Have some of the map designers from the Red Dead team work on the GTA 6 map.
GtaV got a lot of mileage out of people wandering around the desert looking for secrets. It'd be a massive oversight not to include something similar in the sequel.

A bigger map is a must. A long drive should atleast take you half an hour, and it will also active aircrafts usage.

My only issue with games that have massive maps is almost exactly that. Bigger map usually means less detail dense areas, which makes you dread having to travel through the dull areas/overly dense hotspots. It takes so much time to develop, that I would rather have a slightly smaller map with more details or interactions that aren't just basically repeat tasks

Nah I play RDR for that I want cities and towns for gta and I want dead space to be utilized for low profile crimes. I almost never went on the mountains in this game

Would be cool in a future GTA is they have Los Santos, Vice City and Liberty City all in one map but they are far enough apart that you have to fly to get between them. Could even be on separate islands.
Way back in 2009, there was this game that came out called Godfather 2, and it had this cool mechanic where you could catch a flight at the airport and it would take you between Cuba, New York City and Miami, all three full separate maps with different architecture and vehicles
or be able to switch states like how we were able to switch characters. i dont see how they weren’t able to make something like this within the 12 years in making. i guess we’ll see it on the next one in 3025
The original GTA (the 2d one) was Liberty City, San Andreas and Vice City on the one map and that's where every following GTA game setting comes from. They should do it again with the modern detailed versions, for the last GTA

One thing that has me excited since the release of GTA V is underwater exploration.
It’s so thrilling going in the dark, the unknown, silence, shrouded in mystery.
I like the idea if multiple cities with plenty of nature. But they'll make CEO missions ridiculous like a whole 2 hours to sell your stuff.
It would be really cool if we could have like more airports etc. Makes travelling more realistic and just overall fun
Honestly yes. At the very least they should have added some islands off the shore of San Andreas in GTA v. Having a boat or plane in that game was pointless. The only other vehicle people had besides cars with helicopters or any other flying vehicle that could hover and land and doesn't require an airstrip.

The thing about San Andreas’s map specifically that I want is how each city had reasons to stay in it. Reasons to stay put for a while, which also means reasons to go back to the other cities.
I think you should be able to customize your properties more. For example, a furniture store where you can buy sofas, beds, fish tank etc

As someone who lives in Florida I can literally guess all the map location inspirations and that makes it kind of nice for us here.
And I just hope it takes place in the HD universe, It was one of the best for GTA games, even 4.

its really smart how they made the map feel big by adding mountains. It hekps in decreasing the quantity of rendering required and helps them focus on the quality of the already created cities
