I loved this show so much, it taught me about living in the moment more than anyone else ever has. I didn’t really think about the apocalyptic themes too much when watching it because honestly I mostly enjoyed the everydayness of the show, just two girls living. they contemplate the state of the world around them without letting it affect how they interact with it. The show presents such an excellent example of mundane joy somehow, how just surviving doesn’t have to be a chore but a quiet joy you can partake in, no matter the situation. how sometimes just a bit companionship can be everything you need. It changed how I interact with the world as well, how I perceive it and how I value the moments I have in it.
It was what got me through a tough moment. I was really trying to figure out what the point of all of my actions was, and if it mattered that I was trying so hard or not. And when you see something like this, you remember that it doesn't matter at all, it'll all end the same. But if it did, I would be sad that I lost the thing I was working so hard for, and so it must be something that was adding value to my life. So, I might as well keep doing it
I had read the manga for this a while ago when a friend recommended it. I was absolutely floored by it! I enjoyed the art of course, but then just the feeling about it... It has been hard to put into words, but you managed it! ❤
I'd just read this manga about a week ago before I saw the poll the other day, what a coincidence! I really loved the ending to this one and I'm glad you covered it!
I cried and sobbed so much during this video. Not just remembering one of my favorite stories, but listening to your thoughtful words as well. Thank you so much. If you or anyone reading this hasn't read Girls Last Tour, please do. And give the author's next manga a try as well, Shimeji Simulation. It's just as goofy and maybe even more existential than Girls Last Tour, it that's even possible. And please, take care of yourselves everyone. It gets better.
i was hesitant to watch this at first because i assumed it was just going to say "everything sucks but just live with it", but im really glad i did watch it to the end anyway. the message really hit me hard, i needed to hear it. thank you for making this
The reason I really like philosophy is that I feel it puts logic to those conclusions. It kind of means it's just using more words to say the same thing, but it actually attempts to make it make sense, rather than just leaving someone to blindly accept something for benefit. That's what I try to carry forward here as well, and I'm glad that I can succeed
Ive always had this show on the back burner to watch and this is how I initially heard what happens. The snowball got me. Unironically reminded me of Dark Souls 1 and it's whole narrative of living in a seemingly purposeless just to light the fire for a essentially dead world. Great video! 😢
It's honestly crazy how little information I could find on that previous work, I didn't see a dedicated wikipedia page at all when I checked it out from this comment
@@ProfessorViral Not surprised, it's not very well known outside the Touhou community and it's mostly just known as "that one very sad Touhou manga the author of Girl's Last Tour made", but it's a very good story about an immortal vampire girl and about mortality and immortality in general.
Nope, it's the first I've ever used it here on the channel. The title is just a quote from the anime, so someone else may have a similar title to their video
Getting born into a world where your a simple worthless tool that can be tossed aside after serving nothing is pure emotional trauma
Earth?
Pretty much except I’m the person calling myself worthless cuz of emotional anxiety
wdym "a world?" you're only a "worthless tool" to the peoplpe who don't actually know you.

Everytime that I think about the finale of the manga I cry; I always wanted to do a video about it, but now I will thanks you forever
That ending was beautiful and poignant. I admit to crying. Thank you for the wonderful video essay
Of course, thank you for such an open comment!

I'm always happy to have such good timing haha
we are so back with Girl's Last Tour ☺
We'll see if YT thinks the same way 🙏

Thank you for your time and very honest comment. I'm glad I could be part of such an emotional impact
BABE WAKE UP! PROF V DROPPED MORE INCREDIBLY RELATABLE CONTENT
Honestly, its a testament to this story's writing that the apocalypse was made relatable enough for me to make this haha
I love the attitude of Chito and Yuuri
Even though survival is taking most of their world, they still manage to make plenty of fun
It feels unfortunately relatable, trying to make fun in a world that's ending

I think that, while no future is certain, this video will probably age like fine wine.
I love this manga... and I also the previous work of this mangaka, "Flan Wants To Die".
It's honestly crazy how little information I could find on that previous work, I didn't see a dedicated wikipedia page at all when I checked it out from this comment

What do you think of Shimeji Simulation?
@@BlueDog15391 Haven't read it yet
Thanks again for dropping at the perfect hour🙏
Hands down the best commute-mate to have on my way to 8+hours of mundanity behind a desk.
Always happy I can be that bright spot for others that so many have been for me!
My favorite manga of all time, so glad you're covering it.
Happy that I could!
The tears just won’t stop ;_;
Loved the manga portion of this video!
Thank you! I'm glad it was a good first go at the medium
yay! i loved this athmospheric anime, thank you for covering it. but the title rings a bell, is it a reupload?
Nope, it's the first I've ever used it here on the channel. The title is just a quote from the anime, so someone else may have a similar title to their video
Alternate Title: “Why I’m staying in therapy”😅
Alternative title: "why I should be in therapy"
