I had my first DUI with accident at night recently. I had blacked out in my car, woke up, and just drove with the need to get home. I ran over a median while making a left turn at the light from misjudging how wide the turn was because i didnt have on my glasses; I had lost them at the bar. My front left tire popped and I pulled over with my e-lights on. I got out to assess the damage and then the police pulled up behind me shortly after.
I complied to a field sobriety test and breathalyzer test that came out to, what I remember was, a 1.21 when the cop showed me. Does it need to be converted to percentages or did I saw it wrong?
They then allowed me to call someone to pick me up because I cooperated.
What may i be looking at here?
I didnt have any passengers, or hit anyone.

I got my first DUI when I hit a curve and damage public property, jail time and property and court fees had been fully paid. My license was suspended for 3 years and order to go to classes and get the interlock device but was never able to pay for classes or the interlock device due to economic situation. Is now past my 3 years since that happend. DO i still need to go to get classes and the interlock device to reinstate my license?

Hi brother! I see you still reply to comments. I got a second dui, first one was marijuana, second one was excessive alcohol (.21) and rolled my car into a hill with no injuries and no other vehicles involved. I hired a DUI attorney and plead not guilty today. I was not arrested and not taken into custody and was allowed to ride home with the tow truck driver. (The judge actually couldn't believe I wasn't taken to jail but I was extremely honest and I think the officers didn't want to add insult to injury, I actually couldn't beleive it myself when the cuffs came off). Any advice?

My husband got his first DUI... he hit a parked car in our neighborhood. They exchanged insurances, then he drove his truck home. The accident happened just a few blocks from our home. The owner of the other car called the police after my husband left. The police pulled up to our house shortly after my husband pulled in the driveway. They arrested him according to his breathalyzer test. It came back as .22 . He was arrested at about 11pm and stayed in jail until 4pm the next day. He had an excellent driving history prior to this incident. He really needs to keep his license for work purposes. Should he call and make a DMV hearing? Or just wait out the 30 days for his court hearing? Also, when my husband returned home from jail he was able to checkout the damage of his truck. He said the steering wheel jerked as he was driving causing pain in his hands and fingers. Come to find out the tie rod on his truck snapped causing him to lose control of the vehicle and pushed him into the parked car. I'm sure that doesn't mean much but for our peace of mind we know he didn't deliberately hit the parked car because he was drunk.

First time DUI going at an excessive speed and hitting another car, no serious injuries that we are aware of. I was the passenger in the car and my friend she was driving. We want to know if she’ll face any jail time. Both cars are totaled as airbags went on. We still don’t know the alcohol level yet, our concern is if she’ll go to jail for what happened. I got my first citation other than speeding last night. I believe a dui, following too closely, and hit a vehicle. But that’s not the charge. My son was charged with DUI, vehicular manslaughter, and great bodily injury. I don’t know what his BAL was, he didn’t appear to be drunk when I talked to him 30 minutes before the accident. He called me after 911 was called. I drive to the sight, assisted in CPR, and stayed until it was over. Even at the site he did not appear drunk. He hit a Kawasaki mule with no lights on, at night, on a dark country road. He tried to stop when he saw it but it was to late. He’s 20. How do I help him?

Hello there and thank you for your video. I was recently in a first time dui car accident. I was driving on the freeway. One car rear ended me on the back right side and drove off. I was then t-boned by another vehicle. My bac was 0.247 (which is a completely different story). I didnt hit anyone, but I believe I blacked out after being hit by the 2nd car. I dont actually remember being t-boned. But the description of damage was 12 psi on my driver side. I was driven to the hospital by ambulance. I received a pink slip to respond within 10 days. I'm just not sure what to do. Please help. How can i prevent this from ruining ny life? I'm a full time A student. I support my family.

On Saturday at 2:30 a.m I was booked for rear ending another vehicle (air bags did not go off) I was intoxicated. I was in jail till Monday 6:00 p.m (because apparently the system was down and we stayed longer than 12 hours maximum. can you give me an idea of what I might be looking at? Mine was super minor I scraped the back of the car so he just has a small scratch. My car and is car has no bodily damage. I tried negotiating with him, but he wanted to have the police come. If I was a betting man I would say that jail time will be requested by the prosecutor. You will want to take proactive steps. ie get bail and enter into a treatment program if you already haven't. It would also be helpful to have local counsel who is familair with yor court to help you out. Best of luck!

I just got into a car accident and I had been drinking before. I’m like 100% sure my car is totaled. But I have no idea what to expect or whats going on because I never got to talk to the officer or anything, I was just driven to the hospital. I wasn’t injured but I have no idea about the other car or the driver. We were coming over a bridge, the other driver was speeding and cut me off and next thing I knew they were slamming on their brakes and so did I but it wasn’t enough to avoid hitting them.

Both can get charged a DUI. This one will count as a 2nd lifetime.

Will a 23153 appear on the ticket
not everytime. there are situations where no injury is reported or it is not appararent. Officer will arrest and write off as a regular DUI, but injuries will be apparent later. (somtimes after seeing a chiropractor) and filing proseccutor will make note of it and file it as an injury. If thisis the case then the goal with these is to move it away from injury and make it a regular DUI to avoid the 1 year license suspension.
