2005 F-150 FX4 Turn Signal Arrows & High Beam Indicator Stay On and Won't Shift out of Park *FIXED*

- On the way home the other day I turned on the fan and my lights dimmed. Initially I thought it was a bad alternator but then I realized that the turn signal indicators were stuck on solid and my high beam symbol was also stuck on. My turn signals still actually worked. After restarting the truck my dash gauges did not light up and I could not shift out of park. This repair took about 30 minutes.
Thanks, brother. You saved me some money and I fixed my truck in the parking lot of Home Depot lol

Hey man thank you so much as you said the internet did not help. To help future people these were my problems. I turned the key on and the truck would not shift out of park like a security issue and both headlight icons were on but no clicks yet. Rebooted the truck and after its second start the truck shifted and the lights stayed on. The truck during the drive would not use turn signals and a turn signal would not make the dash light cycle and or any sound. Halfway through the drive a relay for the turn signal the (Tick tick) would go and the lights would flash in and out every 2 seconds. My bolt was completely rusted out. The hole where the grommet goes and connects to the frame completely rotted out and was free and floating. I used the same yellows and I use a 5/16 self tapper and made a new whole on a clean spot of rust took about 20 minutes in all. Thank you for the video you helped me save thousands
This is also was my issue just now. And it was the ground. Thanks, I would of missed this. If it wasn't for this.. I was going to check my relays and light sockets. Good find. I had a new floor panel installed last year. I can see paying 70 to 130 thousand for a new ford truck. The used ones aren't worth the cost and mileage ratio. Car market is messed up!
Thanks for your video. I just saw it yesterday and I had the exact problem on my 05 F150. I couldn't find a video that showed this problem and I have looked through a lot. I first replaced the brake pedal switch which also controls the shift level locking solenoid. Didn't work. Next, I replaced the ignition switch feeling that I had some kind of voltage loss not getting to the system. Didn't work. then I saw your video- pulled the step plate out and the kick panel and saw the same rust as yours. Moved the ground and sprayed the well with rust converter and it works great. Wish I saw your video first. Thanks again.
I'm glad it helped you. What type of keywords were you using while searching and troubleshooting the problem so I can tweak the title and maybe help people find my video first?
