- Every Car Dashboard Warning Lights Explained | Part - 1
The electronics system in today's cars relies on sensors attached to warning lights and symbols on the dashboard. There are two main types of dashboard warning lights available red and orange. A red warning light usually indicates a severe problem with your car. If your dashboard warning light is red, you should act quickly.
An orange or yellow dashboard warning light means the Engine Management system - the computer running the engine - has detected a malfunction. You can continue to drive a car with an orange dashboard warning light, but you should visit your local service center as soon as possible for diagnosis and repair.
A Green or Blue dashboard light lets you know the system is on and operating.

As a widow, thank you for posting this! I’m not a mechanic & now that my hubby passed I’ve got to become somewhat of one. This video is very helpful & appreciated.
You have my condolences, ma'am.
Do you have a Chilton's or Haynes' manual (preferably both) for your vehicles? The reason I ask is because they will go through the troubleshooting and repair steps for a given problem and allow you to decide if the repair is something you can undertake yourself (lamp replacement and tire pressure, oil level, and coolant level checking), something you can see yourself undertaking in the future (oil change, tire rotation), or something you will leave to the pros (front-end alignment, engine overhaul, clutch and transmission work).
I have seen that quite a few community colleges offer adult education courses that cover automobile maintenance. They can help you learn what you can do, what you can plan to do in the future, and what you probably want to refer to the pros if your vehicle needs it.
Sorry for your lost
You’ve got all my condolences, I am so sorry for your loss, wishing you peace.
Imagine that all of this Warnings lighting in same time
You just had to say it
Peugeot be like:
Achievement complete
How did we get here?
Prepare for a blast then
dami mong alam
The quantity of research you do to make a video is highly appreciated....
I am surprised that this isn't taught in driver's education school. There's a whole lot to learn when gettin' behind the wheel of a car and what features there are to ensure protocol procedures for safety concerns, precautions and measurements to maintain. But it's no one's fault of not knowing any of it future-wise. Driver's Ed should really be taught most importantly to kids in high school, I know they eager of wantin' to drive a car like everyone else in the world gets to.
Thats why u should read the cars manual
Maybe they left it to/with the Auto electrician
Every car has different warning symbols. Driving schools doesn't need to teach that
As a mechanic I completely agree. Airplane pilots need to learn what every gauge, dial and light means.... I'd like to see a basic auto maintenance class taught in conjunction with drivers ed. People don't need to know all that I do, but should have the ability to jump start their car, change a tire, wiper blades, check fuses, and know how to check all fluids.
Guess we don't need people driving a 2 ton machine in residential areas to know these things....
Loving the lesson
Thank you for this video 👍
Very helpful
I'm trying so much to manage my own vehicle and work. Free videos like this are the best and affordable way.
This is valuable info to me.
I nearly damaged my engine car yesterday. Almost all this significant showcase on my screen.
I just got my first car and I no nothing much on cars.
Thanks for this great information 😊
I've been driving my 2022 BRZ in track mode (traction always off) since April. During my roadtrip this summer, I got lost in a muddy dirt road and it's probably the most fun I had. Had the traction control activated for the first few times I drove in a dirt road to learn how my car was handling the dirt.
Why would you always have traction control off? You’re just asking to get seriously hurt. What if you’re driving down the highway and you hit some kind of bump and completely lose control when you could’ve recovered
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣ew eww kk🤣🤣🤣🤣lego osoou🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@Akotski-ys9rr you sound no fun. Also traction control is not needed. What do you happend with cars before the 1980's? There was no traction control then, and people were still driving lambos and such. Driving without tractoin control is not hard. Its not much different.
Traction control sorta limits the throttle response when losing grip. This is why people often disable it when the car is stuck in snow, since it will just not give enough throttle to get out of the snow, since it will start limiting it.
Traction control is only needed in heavy thunderstorms or heavy snowstorms
Wish I had traction control at the time while driving old cars and trucks (all rear wheel drives) spun out a few times on the freeway due to rain and black ice at normal speeds. Trucks in particular, very light at the rear. I even saw a car flipped over on the freeway in front of me, he was driving normal going straight on a dry road. Needed an ambulance and jaws of life.
Also if you put a high-performance engine or performance parts causing you’re engine to make more power in your vehicle and you forget to upgrade your cooling system that can cause a major problem of overheating, because your stock cooling system is not built for that kind of stress. it may be still fine to use for some upgrades but there is a certain limit before you stock cooling system needs to be upgraded
Explain more better please,I am Mr me and am gonna bethe richest man in the world 🌎🌎
I wish driving schools could teach this. There is alot to learn in this video.
Yup!
Yup!
I have found this particular video very important, and well detailed and clearly explained to me,it has taken me a couple of days to draw every symbol and write down their identification names, and also notes in a book, but I thank God that am now done with all the drawings and notes taking work, thank you Sir, indeed your video has taught me alot of things I never knew before 🙌👍❤️

Very good info 👍🏻👍🏻
Our car is our second life and to learned all these really are great help for our safety on the road. Thanks 👍🏻👍🏻
I cannot express how useful this video is
Besides a few oddly worded phrases/words, this is an excellent and very informative video.
Had no idea what the warning triangle was for but when my wife comes home from work with the Mini I will check out what code is showing. Thank you 👍👍
Mine has only one of those...a brake warning light if the parking brake is on or there is a pressure differential between the two sides of the master cylinder. I like it that way. Oil and alternator output are gauges.
I'd like to have multiple steps of warnings: White: Reminder Green: No damaged system Orange: Warnung, Check is recommended Red: Check emmideantly or you will be lost where you are and you will die😆-This explains by itself ofciurse. Since i am 14, this Viedeo is very helpful for my Future driving-school. Thanks! Oh, and i apoligize for my writing, i am from Germany and auto correct is spelling some things wrong.
Very informative, spot on helpful and from a sound minded person ❤

So for Tire Pressure Warning Light 6:18 when it blinks for a little bit and then it just goes solid, it indicates that you have a Tire Pressure Sensor Fault, so another thing to keep in mind.
yes! I have been having a tire pressure sensor issue for almost two years now... ive had it fixed several times and it comes right back on after getting fixed
What does it mean to have a tire pressure sensor fault? Because my dads rav4 I took it to the tire shop because it kept marking the tire pressure symbol and even after the tires were topped off it still had the symbol on. Please help me 😅
@@yosselisorto3785 dead sensor battery. Shop should have a tool to tell which one then they program a new one to the car,
There is so much to learn about driving.
Awesome information, however some of the cars have electronic power steering which doesn*t use power steering fluid , like for example Hyundai , when there is a problem with the system, the following lights go on, ABS, the steering wheel with the exclamation , anti skidding or stability control because they built it that way, it can be a couple of things, inner or outer arms or both among the many things in the front suspension it will stay on.
Excellent information.. Thank you so much
Lucky I have a VW Polo TDI, in eleven years only see three signs, Low fuel, brake pads needs replacement and the service tool sign came on, nice video

I have a question. My 2006 Toyota Siena Le engine immobilizer/theft deterrent system indicator light is on when I take the key out from the ignition switch after driving. When the key is inserted in the ignition switch and the engine is on , the indicator light is off. Is it ok to drive like that? Thanks for any advice.
Very informative
This is helpful. Thank you sir!

Wonderful information ℹ️
Very nice and very useful information
But it's language in Hindi to better understanding in villages students

Very very nice explanation 🎉
Thank you so much for this information,
If your car got reduced engine power it could also mean the engine is not timed correctly and that could cause severe damage if not fixed
The much needed video
Very good 👍 👏
Hello Mrs, my question is about to the symbol for tyre pressure, does it have others warning signs I need to know about?!
Hello bro it was a nice information. About all the signs on dashboard.
Make a video on different types of scan tools to check different functions. With a scanner.
Sure 👍
@@TheEngineersPost 0:12 what is that symbol is between the brake symbols
Yes it's good information for the new drivers or for driving school
Thank you very much Sir

That was very rich. Thanks
Glad you liked it!
Thank for this
Thank you 🙏🤗
The TPMS light may also come on if one of your sensors has gone out. If all of your tire pressures are correct and stable (even the spare), a tire pressure sensor may be shot.
My dad has the powertrain fault light on his chevrolet orlando 2013 ever since he bought it he said it already has that wrench thing and he doesnt know what it means, now we know thank u, by the way its a second hand
Fun fact: on 2015 and newer mopars equipped with the 6.4L Hemi or 6.2L Supercharged Hemi, without a 4 digit code, the engine will only output 3hp which is barely enough to even idle it
33:53 😂😂😂😂 gas tank on the rite 😂😂😂
