@HeroIsLoading what your teacher said to you. I got students with awful handwriting too, but I usually tell them "there's no doctors in this room, nobody's able to read your writing".
I read an article a year ago saying patients die every year because the doctors handwriting is so bad that the pharmacist gave the patients the wrong prescription and they die.

I have to sloooooooow down to get my writing clearer. If I am in a hurry (or being inattentive) my writing gets illegible.
laura nugent I found that the longer I keep up the neat handwriting even under pressure (in class or etc), you start to be able to speed up while keeping it neat
I've written notes regularly and realized that though I exert too much effort to write them clearly at first, i get used to a neat printed handwriting even if I write quickly.
Also... my paper tends to be horizontally aligned to myself ... that's how much I slant my hand when I write 😂😂

Lefties can easily avoid smudging their writing by angling paper to the right and angling their letters to the left while underwriting.
Didn't expect to see that advice here as most people, including a lot of lefties, have no idea.
I spent many years in school with the side of my hand coated with a nice layer of shiny graphite. Wish even one teacher would have known this advice to tell me
A good tip for those that have trouble with writing without lines, you can buy special paper and inserts that have lines on them to go behind your writing page. You can see the lines show through and than you can writing neatly and consistenly! Its great for more professional (or romantic!) Letters where you don't want lines on the page!
Thanks for this! It’ll really help since I’m trying to improve my handwriting, reason being; I love writing poems & I want to write poems for a girl on paper to send in letters. But I most definitely need to level my writing skills first! I’ll be sure to research for that paper you’ve mentioned,

Yeah
Unless your hand writing is naturally very slanted and tight then it just looks like barcode
Nope! I hate thin pens! The only pens I use write 1mm thick! My writing just looks ugly as f*ck when I use a thin pencil or pen!
@@orbitarchive346 when i use thin pen, i can see every movement i did on paper. I can even see how much my hand shakes 😅 thick pen shows less detail
I can't, every classmate steal all my pens on the first day of school. So, the only option is a pencil, which needs to be sharped every fricking time.

2 things I found of paramount importance when trying to improve my own handwriting:
1. Learn letterforms. Really learn them. Without knowing how each letter is formed one cannot hope to write well. You have an idea of how a letter looks, but do you really know?
2. Rhythm is everything. Slow down and write rhythmically. There's a natural rhythm to writing. Up and down strokes alternate in a rhythmic fashion.
Become conscious of the way you write. Then write and write and write. Pages upon pages. At least until you get the basics down. Consistency will come naturally as you master the two above. Just my 2 cents.
Sorry, you seem like you know what you're talking about. Could you please explain what you mean by knowing letterforms.

Thank you sir!
A few tips I have found works for me.
1) Slow down, think about the letter forms as you write them. Over time, muscle memory will change to embrace the your new letter forms.
2) Try to use your whole arm, not just your fingers and wrist. This will help develop fine motor control and reduce fatigue.
There is also a book I have thought about getting titled, "The Art of Cursive Penmanship: A Personal Handwriting Program for Adults." I have seen it recommended quite a bit.
Thank you so much 😀
Well, it is not that easy if you have a very small handwriting or if your tables are to high. When i write on a big board then it is much easier to write with my arm than my wrist.
I don't really have the space in my room to practice with the whole arm.
Also i tend to press on my pens and pencils, it was worse when i was a child but today it is not that bad anymore. I still prefer to use a fountain pen. Those are the pens, together with pencils, with which i write the most and which i love to use. I only use a ballpoint pen for really short notes but if i use it for a longer time it tends to ruin my writing. Gel pens are great as well but sadly here in Germany we only have the 0.7 mm size nibs and not the 0.5 mm needle point. There are a few exceptions.
See I’m left handed and I rely on my forearm to write so I can’t really use my are while writing ✍️ or it will look sooooo sloppy!
Probably helps not to have an extreme clawlike deathgrip on the pen...

I'm a little late to the game, but something that helped me is tracing letters from a practice sheet. I searched for "Handwriting practice Sheets," and found a sheet of letter forms I liked, printed it, and then I put tracing paper (or thin paper) over top and traced the letters over and over. Then I tried it without tracing. I hope this helps someone. Take care, and thank you, Jet Pens, for terrific videos!
At least you aren't as late as I am :) And thank you for the tips! My handwritting sucks :D
Examiners: *set a time limit on exams*
Also examiners: ‘The written quality of candidates has declined this year. Candidates are reminded to ensure their work is legible and remains in the guidelines all the time’
I also write quickly in my lectures and labs. I use medical short hand to keep up and after classes I rewrite my notes in a neat and organized format. This not only gives me a second exposure to the material, but it also allows me to have neat and clear notes to review for exams and practicals in addition to midterms and finals.
Miaou my professors do not allow themselves to be recorded. Anyone caught doing so will face disciplinary actions upto expulsion
That is a great idea. I have messy handwriting while writing fast.
My main tip is for my fellow dyslexic writers out there: make sure that your spacing between words is clear, so that the individual words stand out, and change up the shapes of your letters so that they are clearly different from similar looking letters. I found that I was rotating letters so my b's, d's, p's, and q's were all mixed up, so I changed how I do the ascenders/descenders on those letters. I also took the time to figure out the best way to differentiate my vowels from one another, and found that really helped.
What a great tip! Thanks for sharing!
Yes!! Thank you! I am always stumped by those evil "similar letters".

The problem with my handwriting is it's not consistent with the angle so it looks messy for writing a long essay. Also, my handwriting will change if I use different pens. I'd still prefer gel pens tho because I write best with them.
I like The smoothness of gel in AP I write faster and it gets big and inconsistent, I tend to get a death grip when I write fast to combat it
Yeah i too everytime i use a new pen that is not the same as the old one my writing changes
Im using a... gel ink pen😐
I have the exact same issue! Although I prefer to write with ballpoint or ink pens rather than gel-pens.
Same with me my handwriting changes with pen and my handwriting really looks messy in long answers or essays cause I sometimes write to small or too big and doesn't write in order
My new years resolution was to improve my crap hand righting! And I used this tutorial and it worked, before the year was even half way over!!! Thanks JetPens!!!! I love your stationary channel!!!

You guys can write like that with a lot of training for a week or two. I tried and now I have that handwriting. You can watch a lot of this type of videos just to see the other's handwriting. Trust me these two easy steps helps a lot! :)
this is incredibly helpful! some of my tips:
- my favourite pens are the bic 4 colour ones and the pilot frixion erasable ones... they make your handwriting better without hurting your hand
- if you're using a smudgy pen, use the highlighter beforehand to prevent yourself ruining the highlighter
-take the time to make it neat... it's also a good study tip because it leads you to think about what you are writing
Cool thanks!
I've been following these for the past few weeks and omg my handwritings look so great now!!
Forcing myself to write in cursive, and specifically with a cursive style I thought was pretty, had improved my handwriting a lot. I have to writing in cursive regularly though, otherwise I go back to my messy print.

@@tsonkavelikova4528 I have created my one style of writing. It's close to this one
@@eisque nice
I find that smaller and more spaced out letters tend to look a lot neater and more formal. For cursive, I like to break the cardinal rule of “don’t lift the pen from the paper” and spiff it up a bit if I need it to look really nice (ex. creating bridges between two Os after writing them). It sounds crazy, but try it!
I’m right-handed and I always write with my notebook or paper angled to the left! It really helps to write faster and neat. Also, I love it because I’m used to write slow, so in school it’s really difficult to keep up.☺️
Changing my pen has more impact on my legibility than anything else. The Pilot Juice .38 and Hi-Tec-C in .25 have completely changed my handwriting for the better.
my family says my handwriting looks like grass and they don't like it

As much as I like the look of cursive and am practicing to improve mine, I still find spaced simple style print letters with no slant easier to read and is my preferred writing style for now.

I am also an handwriting fixer and trainer both on Nelson and Cursive handwriting. The first rule I give my students is to write slowly while saying out the letter formations. With that the letters become automatic and can be remembered fast...
Also, Doctors need this training more. Am working on a lab scientist's writing presently and he is doing great. I just hope he sticks to it even after the training especially while at the lab.
Keep it up!
Do more of these an humble request!!

I´m 52 and I´m decided do learn calligraphy the right way, as I always wanted. Thanks for the amazing video!
I think that one important thing is that, if you want to practice, use a pen that you are used to using. If there is a type of pen that you always use, for me a Pilot Frixion Ball Knock Biz, then use that. You may want to try out other pens, but practicing for the type of pen that you know you are going to use is better than practicing for a completely different pen.
I’m here bc I want my handwriting to be nicer before schoolll :)))

What I find rly helps is to write the alphabet and look at what letters look weird and practice them. I thought my hand writing looked horrible till I realized that my S and Z were rly messy so I practiced them and my hand writing looks so much better already
This throws me back to school, this is how we learned to write, cursive first then general
Wasn't sure this would actually be of any help but it really has some great tips. There were a few things shown in this video that I was doing that were wrong. Awesome video definitely learnt a lot, definitely subbing
I’ve never had horrible handwriting bc I was taught how to write properly. I recommend doing some of those kindergarten letter practice sheets bc the ppl I notice who have bad handwriting write letters using the wrong stroke order or hold their pencil wrong. It sounds meticulous, but I think it’s super important. I’ve also noticed it’s easier to take people who hold their pen correctly more seriously. Like, if a teacher is writing on the board and they’re deathgripping the marker while writing m’s backwards I begin to doubt their credentials. Another tip: in first grade teachers used to make kids who held their pencil wrong hold a ball of clay between their palm and the pencil to open up their hand and loosen their grip.
I recommend the Pilot G-tec C-4 gel pen. You can get fine points like 0.3mm if you like and they are smooth and non smudgy when you do loops like e's or o's. And it has a cap that seals the gel point to keep it fresh.
Also I recomment the Platinum Preppy and Platinum Plaisir for fountain pens. They are usually smooth and the big plus is they too have a snap on cap that seals the nib so the ink won't dry. This is important for nonfrequent users.
it's so soothing and satisfying to watch her write
I like practicing by writing song lyrics! It’s fun and a great way to practice words :D
my handwriting is so hard to read that teachers often take off points because they can’t read it even though i can read it just fine
my handwriting is the equivalent of capital i and lowercase L repeating over and over again randomly
Take some time to transcribe things, class notes, song lyrics, or anything else. As you are doing that, slow down and think about the letter forms as you write them. That will build your muscle memory to embrace the improved letter forms. As the muscle memory builds, your writing speed should also increase.
Mood
I’ve finally improved my handwriting after like 5 years of trying. To make real changes you actually have to be super strict about every letter you write. For instance I used to write e’s like a sideways cursive l. And I just took that for granted like, that’s how an e is. But when I actually copied an e stroke to stroke from someone with super cute writing, I suddenly realized it was sooooo different. And it’s a subtle difference in every letter that makes or breaks your handwriting.
I just love her handwriting

0) Write impractically slow.
Yeah it kind of moves into the territory of calligraphy at some point. There’s a line between writing and calligraphy in practicality vs speed.
I do think slowing down your writing to practice is probably a good idea, you can slowly speed up as you find a way to write that you are comfortable with that looks good.
i read somewhere on the internet about how your handwriting relates to your personality. so i tried writing while thinking how my friend behaves/her personality. i then compared it to my normal handwriting and they were surprisingly different
