    Been shooting the Savage 110 since the mid 1970's , the button bore rifling was extremely accurate. And back then they had what we reffered to as the " buggy whip barrel" didn't matter though. If you glass bedded the stock and free floated the barrel they would shoot sub moa. I had a .243 that would shoot almost the same hole all day. Won rifle matches with it and killed hundreds of ground hogs out to 500 yards. Used a 110 in 7 mag to harvest two Elk in Az. Can't wait to load for one of these babies.

      Has your barrel and chamber gone to hell yet? Had mine for less than 2 months and it already won't shoot or load very well.

      Which length barrel 308 did you choose, 20 or 24? I’m looking at the 20..

    • @stephenwebb7337
      @stephenwebb7337 3 роки тому +1

      I got the 20. Honestly I can't imagine needing the 24 for any real life situations. I've only taken her out to 600 yards but she has plenty left in her. My old Marine Corps buddy owns a gun shop and said he's taken the 20 out to a 1,000 yards. I don't have the same scopes he has personally to go that far out. She's already got a little weight on her so another 4 inches of added weight and maneuvering through the brush or whatever doesn't seem worth the extra yardage she might get.

      @@zanestroud639 I haven't had any issues at all and I've had her for about 2 years now. Savage is known for good barrels. I'd contact them to have them check it out.

    A few weeks ago, I picked up a Savage Axis II in .30-06, with Weaver scope, accutrigger, and sling studs-- all factory installed for $350usd.
    Tbh, I wasn't even looking for a bolt gun, and I didn't know all that much about Savage... But I *do* know a good deal when I see one and jumped on it!
    All I can say is: if Savage engineers their *entry level* rifles to perform *this well,* I think it's safe to say, I've drunk the coolaid, and cannot wait to get my mitts on a 110 and a MSR 15!!

    I bought the 110 Tactical in .308. I mounted an Arken Gen 4 6-24x50. It's not very light. The scope is heavier than most. I will tell you that this is a tack driver ! I reloaded my own with Hornady 168 AMAX with 47 grains of Reloader 17. I was stacking them. They were touching each other. The trigger on this rifle has to be one of the best out there. I would be another Savage and an Arken scope. A great combination. If you buy this rifle you will be very happy. Happy shooting...

    Bought mine and bought a muzzle break and too it to a gun smith. The barrel has such a taper that narrows down too much at the end of the barrel. Have to cut a couple inches off in order to be able to fit the break.

    I like the movement Savage has taken with the stocks. I think there a lot more modular now and fit shooters a lot better. I haven't heard how the accuracy is with these new stocks but I'm sure s good bedding job could always helo as long as barrel is properly free floated.

    Anybody on here have the Scout version of the Savage 110? I am considering that one and the tactical in .308 Winchester. I am looking at it mostly as a hunting rifle.Thanks for any replies.

    • @8626John
      @8626John 4 роки тому

      @roland saldana Thanks for the reply, Roland. Why do you suggest the tactical? I would be interested in your feedback. The Scout is a pound lighter than the tactical and has a shorter barrel, which might make it better in the brush. But the tactical gets consistently excellent reviews. Again, thanks for replying.

      @@andrewtanczyk4009 I'm really in to older guns like the Remington 700 before the year 2000 and I have a Browning A-bolt early nineties that yes is made in Japan but have been since the sixties. Standard calibers are great you don't need a missile to shoot or kill an animal.
      Also remember you can't shoot what you can't see so spend money on optics.
      Vortex is very good and Burris is right there also.
