I feel like LA travel guides do not emphasis how far each of these locations are. This video makes it seem like a drive from Malibu to Downtown LA or Hollywood only takes 15 mins. I hope travelers to LA realize just how bad the traffic they are going to experience will be if they do not know what they are doing and the distances they will drive. Just a heads up for those coming here: never leave during rush hour, avoid the 405, 5, and the 101 if you can, always give yourself plenty of time to get somewhere, and do not rely on LA public transportation. For those renting a car, half of us do not signal when changing lanes.

Went to Los Angeles for 3 days but I soon realized that it is wayyyyy bigger than I expected, especially without a car, and 3 days weren't enough for even a third of the things I had planned. Travelling by bus from Santa Monica pier to Downtown or Hollywood takes ages. Literally no time for me to visit Malibu or Long Beach or Orange County (Disneyland). You need a solid full week if you wanna visit all or most important spots of the city. Still though, my favorite city in the world. Will definitely be back after covid to complete my list :)

As a person who lives in Los Angles, California, I will tell you my experience. Including, The weather, the schools, prices of things, etc. So starting off with the schools, not the best. Or maybe it is just my school. My school doesn’t care about bullying, the principal is trash, and everybody in my class is trash. Now for the weather. The weather is pretty good but in the summer it gets very VERY hot. It’s very rare to have rain here. I’m honestly surprised that we got hail in March. Now for prices of things. Very very VERY expensive. Just getting your daily groceries is 150 bucks. And the HOUSES. A 1 bedroom 1 bathroom house can cost literally 800 dollars a month, A MONTH. I live in a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment with my Mom, Grandma, and grandpa and it’s 2800 dollars a MONTH. And no it’s not a good looking apartment it is horrible! I mean I know people will call me “Ungrateful” but I’m not. I appreciate everything I have and I am grateful to have a roof over my head. But what I’m trying to say is that if the apartment is going to be bad, the people who own the place need to tune down the rent! But I still do think that Los angles, California still has a chance. Yes, the prices might be horrible, the schools might be bad the weather might be too hot, but It is still a good place that has potential. Also this is just my opinion so if you don’t agree with me, it’s fine. :)
That sounds tricky indeed. Well, I have never been to the US at all, so can only imagine from videos and stories. It seems, that nevertheless you have got a choice to live somewhere else, not in the city itself, or you can try to use the hype of L.A. to earn more after you finish the school. I am pretty confident this is individual, but you should find your wave. I mean sure, a large and famous US city near the ocean will attract a lot of public, this will drive the prices and taxes upwards and convenience of everyday life downwards. For some people that will also mean huge business or career possibilities, for others who just want to live in peace it might become an unwanted place.
Every one who's get to travel is lucky. I don't get to travel and I don't have a traveling buddy. Where I live the weather sucks, it's either too hot or too cold. LA looks good and there weather seems best. I can't wait until I get to travel places.
It has improved significantly the last 30 years or so, thanks to all the pollution control laws that were passed in the 70's and 80's. But the progress seems to be have stalled, probably due to the popularity of heavier SUV's, which negates the improved efficiency of cars overall.
What an amazing guide! Thank you so much for sharing, I'll be visiting LA for the first time in about a month. Looking forward to it. Looks like there's a ton of things you can do there.
@Steven Toro Soooo true. Thanks for sharing with me all these info because I'll be there next week. After watching this video I should be grateful living in Toronto that the traffic is not crazy as in LA area, and our public transportation helped me a lots to commute every where I go.
Marlond Asllani nah you don’t wish you lived there. Enjoy the visit, LA is a great city but take it from a Californian it’s not worth living in LA or the Bay Area.
Hkm Saharan DONT. There are drug needles rats, trash, and insane homeless people trying to kill people. At night it’s very scary. There are medieval diseases like the bubonic plague. Go somewhere else if you don’t want to potentially die. Ohio is pretty nice. Maybe new york? Its cheeper.
And if you want to experience the wild west a visit Compton is a must. But before you do make sure to call your loved ones and tell them how much you love them, also make sure to wear your new bulletproof vest.

I am glad that you mention Uber/Lyft. Are you saving up to visit L.A for less than 2 weeks? Then put a budget ($100-$300 maximum) for Uber XL/Lyft with 6 passengers. Why rent a car? You just saw in the video (and it's very true) that ordinary places charge $10 for parking! When you rent a car you have to drive in atrocious traffic, worry about the car getting damaged or stolen, and pay for its rental and gas money. Plus, if you are dealing with a crooked rental company they'll make up complaints about damages that you need to pay. Be smart and use Uber/Lyft, it's very cheap in California.
Took a whirlwind evening tour of LA before catching a cruise the next day. Saw LAPD in the middle of busting a gang on the sidewalk and we drove right past it which is probably a normal sight in the city. The homeless people on Hollywood Blvd were kind of nasty and aggressive and it felt a bit unsafe there at night. The Chinese Theatre was a pretty cool sight though. Universal Studios was also fun to walk around. So much history and seeing where Hollywood Icons from the past lived was memorable. I wouldn't recommend driving there if you're not comfortable with fast paced busy freeways.
I’m an Egyptian teenager. My dream is to live in Los Angeles, I’ve been trying for years. Unfortunately my dad is making that feel seem impossible but, I won’t give up no matter what. Wish me luck everyone. Thanks 🙌
Los Angeles, California has a lot more Black history than most people realize. The city was founded in 1781 by a group of 44 Mexican sellers, and 26 of them were of African descent. Pío de Jesús Pico, who was of both African and American descent, was one of the first governors of the area that is now known as the city of Los Angeles. In fact, he served as the governor of Alta California twice and was even a councilman before his untimely death.😉
I live in LA and fr listen to him saying stay in the tourist zones, this city is amazing and there’s no other like it but if you make a couple wrong turns or get off on the wrong exit you’ll end up in an area you don’t wanna be in. There’s a lot of gang territories in the surrounding areas like fr stay out of the places he told you to stay away from, and stay away from east LA and echo park
@@Dream331 Lived in LA all my life, it amazing how Echo Park went from a gang infested ghetto to becoming a gentrified hipster paradise. Never would have thought it. Now if that could happen to MacArthur Park, that would be swell.
As someone who is from LA, do not use the carpool lanes on the 110 freeway or on the 10, these are the toll roads. The 405 has some of the worst traffic in LA but is still often the best route due to the location. Also drivers here are insane, just fyi.
oh yeah lol i live in the bay but go to la sometimes . first time i saw 3 accidents in a span of 2 day period . meaning i was there as it happened. heard that screeech crash!!! and bloody ppl
Whenever people ask me where I am from, I asked them to guess. 1. Birth place of the most famous (infamous) restaurant on earth. 2. Where most famous movies were made, 3. Where most famous amusement parks are located. Best of all, you can find public toilets/restrooms for free almost everywhere - restaurants, supermarkets, gas stations.... LA is also good place for shopping; we have many outlets, malls, Apple stores, Nike factory outlets, Oakley stores, and more.
People who say la has a lot of traffic must visit Mumbai , India to know what actual traffic looks like ( when you can be stuck for an hour for going 4kms ) and also travel in local trains .....just saying and btw nice video ❤️
There is nothing for free, the common between Mumbai and L.A. is that in both cases people gather in large metropolitan areas to generate possibilities. Of course that comes at a price of unnatural living conditions for a human being. For those born and raised in stone jungles that might even be OK, but with the time every of us is just begging for some personal greenery and solitude with an option to visit a noisy city should they get bored.
I live in LA and I’ll tell you some tips if your planing on going. If your going to Hollywood in the night make sure to go with a group. There’s lot of traffic so make sure to go at least 15 minutes earlier of where your supposed to go. If your going to a beach try to go on a weekday because the weekends are always full Hope those help you if you’re planing on going to LA :)
Was in LA 3 days for a concert in SoFi Stadium and I'm already planning a 2 weeks vacation for next year. I travel alone and can't drive so my main concern rn is safety and how to set a reasonable budget : )
Downtown and Hollywood are not safe once nightfall hits . The west side is the most safe and beautiful. The things east side of la is not as bad , south la is a bit dangerous but not what people make it to be. Northwest of LA is not as bad either . Traffic is a nightmare , gas is $4.59+ . Los Angeles is beautiful and I’m extremely blessed to live here but it’s not what you tubers make it to be.

Very useful and so practical! It will help a big amount of visitors and guests in LA.
Thanks Amirlan :)
Los Angeles is utterly beautiful.
Thanks for sharing with me all these info because I'll be there next week. After watching this video I should be grateful living in Toronto that the traffic is not crazy as in LA area, and our public transportation helped me a lots to commute every where I go.
I just came from LA, the best city in the world ! So sad to leave! The best time ever in my life! Wish I live there !
What do you recomend too see? I'm visiting LA in june.
Marlond Asllani nah you don’t wish you lived there. Enjoy the visit, LA is a great city but take it from a Californian it’s not worth living in LA or the Bay Area.
@@AJ-lh4fp why wouldn't you recommend it ?
@Hello Marlond Asllani, How are you doing?
Am I the only Asian here planning to move to LA? But can’t afford it.
One day, I will 🙂
Hkm Saharan DONT. There are drug needles rats, trash, and insane homeless people trying to kill people. At night it’s very scary. There are medieval diseases like the bubonic plague. Go somewhere else if you don’t want to potentially die. Ohio is pretty nice. Maybe new york? Its cheeper.
Hkm Saharan Don’t go to a shithole like L.A and come to Houston, we don’t got Typhus.
@@yuh2634 LMAO, a bunch of haters here jealous of LA
Cal3000 Last time I checked Houston doesn’t have Typhus.
NYC maybe/maybe not, but there is nothing in Ohio.
And if you want to experience the wild west a visit Compton is a must. But before you do make sure to call your loved ones and tell them how much you love them, also make sure to wear your new bulletproof vest.
Nowel Aquir 🤣😂😂😂😂😂omg
I must say, it was one of the best travel guides I have seen on UA-cam
Thank you, appreciate it 😀
I'm an Asian guy, I never get a chance to hang out with European or American peoples, I love everyone, hope some day I'll experience this type of tours & meet lovable peoples
I love America i love Los Angeles from Iran 🇺🇸❤🇮🇷
America? That awesome country is The United States, no America. America is a continent with many countries 🙄
David is absolutely right!!
Thanks 🙌
Really like that he said oc is another county most say l.a. stays all the way
Don't forget to visit the Intercontinental hotel and it's 73rd floor rooftop restaurant for beautiful scenery of the entire city.
When you live in south central LA. 🤣😫
Haha, its getting better.!!!
Love south central
GREAT VIDEO! Well documented, goes straight to the point, not boring at all!
Great video! LA is one of our second homes! We miss it so much!
Ha! i couldnt believe he would say avoid Boyle Heights you got some of the best mexican food there !

All Latino communities.
Anthony Rodriguez is this true, and where specifically, I’ll head over right now lol
Y’all have fake Mexican food try San Antonio Texas Mexican food

Best traffic app. for LA traffic is sigalert. I've used this app. for 10 years when I was commuting to work.
Hey Mindi, thanks for the suggestion ;)
I’ll be visiting LA for the first time. This was very helpful.
Going to LA in December can't wait 🤣😁💖
My dream holiday.. just keep dreaming cause I've got no one to travel and with and can't travel solo :(

It's ok. My dream is to live in LA but sadly I'll never leave San Antonio.
Im going to LA in three weeks time....by myself. Never traveled alone before....
I just went to LA in late April-my first solo vacation trip ever and it was a blast!! I have wanderlust for the rest of my life now 💖🌎
Don't like to travel solo. No problem, let's go together. ;)
I live in LA and fr listen to him saying stay in the tourist zones, this city is amazing and there’s no other like it but if you make a couple wrong turns or get off on the wrong exit you’ll end up in an area you don’t wanna be in. There’s a lot of gang territories in the surrounding areas like fr stay out of the places he told you to stay away from, and stay away from east LA and echo park
starypuppet GAMING Yep stay away from Echo Park if you’re afraid of hipsters, coffee shops and large paddle boats shaped like ducks 😂😂😂
@@Dream331 Lived in LA all my life, it amazing how Echo Park went from a gang infested ghetto to becoming a gentrified hipster paradise. Never would have thought it. Now if that could happen to MacArthur Park, that would be swell.
Lol Echo Park is full of hipsters. You must be stuck in the 1980s.
As someone who is from LA, do not use the carpool lanes on the 110 freeway or on the 10, these are the toll roads. The 405 has some of the worst traffic in LA but is still often the best route due to the location. Also drivers here are insane, just fyi.
5 freeway is just as bad.
You want a worse freeway? Try the 105 and 605. Jesus it takes me 20 minutes to get to the Costco in Norwalk coming from Artesia
oh yeah lol i live in the bay but go to la sometimes . first time i saw 3 accidents in a span of 2 day period . meaning i was there as it happened. heard that screeech crash!!! and bloody ppl
I live in belgium and when i will be older (i'm 12) like 20 y old idk then i'll 100% go live there cuz it's my biggest dream ever
Wow! It's a very cool city! I'm thinking live in a Los Angeles.
I am visiting soon and this list was very helpful thank you so much!
THE ROSES are in Pasadena at THE HUNTINGTON gardens!
I love the cheery music while he talks about the homeless 😂
Whenever people ask me where I am from, I asked them to guess. 1. Birth place of the most famous (infamous) restaurant on earth. 2. Where most famous movies were made, 3. Where most famous amusement parks are located. Best of all, you can find public toilets/restrooms for free almost everywhere - restaurants, supermarkets, gas stations.... LA is also good place for shopping; we have many outlets, malls, Apple stores, Nike factory outlets, Oakley stores, and more.
The weather is much hotter between July and August at times 100 and even at the beach been here 5 years
People who say la has a lot of traffic must visit Mumbai , India to know what actual traffic looks like ( when you can be stuck for an hour for going 4kms ) and also travel in local trains .....just saying and btw nice video ❤️
Most Americans that complain about high commute times have not the slightest desire to a visit a city like Mumbai. Just sayin....
I'm South Africa I like this city I wish to visit one day
it is a great place,here
How about the Aquarium of the Pacific, Knotts berry farm , Six flags Magic Mountain, Medeival Times Show and all those hundreds of Museums !
I'm watching this because I'm going this summer and its my dream to go but I live in NY so its across the country to get there
I’m moving to LA in some weeks I am so excited
I live in LA and I’ll tell you some tips if your planing on going. If your going to Hollywood in the night make sure to go with a group. There’s lot of traffic so make sure to go at least 15 minutes earlier of where your supposed to go. If your going to a beach try to go on a weekday because the weekends are always full
Hope those help you if you’re planing on going to LA :)
Thanks for your tips!

What’s the weather like in April in LA?
Hello. We plan on visiting around the 4th of July so I'm pretty sure it's going to be alot of people. What places would you recommend to see?
Been there before dark
Was in LA 3 days for a concert in SoFi Stadium and I'm already planning a 2 weeks vacation for next year. I travel alone and can't drive so my main concern rn is safety and how to set a reasonable budget : )

Hey Alexander, thank you 😀 Hope you get a chance to visit LA soon! It’s truly amazing 😀
@@HungryPassport Thank you very much!!
its a beautiful place
I live in LA, hmm so why am I watching this😂. Btw you should go visit LA it is so beautiful, but the downside is that there is a lot of traffic.
Dont do it man. Ive lived in LA my whole life. lol
Planning a trip to L.A in May 2020. Thank you Hungry Passport!
You’re welcome, enjoy when you go 😀
