Love the videos, what causes cold pockets in the system. I'm always having hot water go cold about midway through shower. Shut it down for about 20 seconds, back to hot so I can finish showering
I recently had a Navien NPE-240A2 NG unit installed by a local plumber. I thought I was getting a Navien, Navi-Circ valve # 30022965A but it looks more like a Grundfos thermal valve based on your video. The recirculation function is not working and I cannot get the issue resolved with the installer. I've tried Internal and External pump settings but neither seems to work.
Mike. I'm lost. I've got a Rinnai that shows no error code, when hot water is on demand it fires up, it's flowing 2 gpm from the fixture measured by using the diagnostic gpm function of the water heater. I then use the diagnostic function that measures the temperature as it goes out of the heater. As there is demand for hot water at 2 gpm, the heater is set to 120, it heats up and as the water gets to 109 the water heater shuts off. it's still flowing 2gpm, but it shuts off, and when the outgoing temp drops to 70, it kicks back on. It keeps going up to 109 then turning off, then to 70 and turns back on, then 109 and turns back off. there's no load change and it fluctuates like this. I am confused as to what to look for at this point. I've isolated the house from the heater by closing the valve into the house, hooking a hose up to the hot side flush valve. I did that to make sure I don't have a problem of a bad faucet letting cold water into the hot side. with the hose on the flush valve and the hot into the house turned off, I get 3 gpm that gets warmish then cold again as the heater turns on then off then on then off. what do I need to look at?
A short question: Noritz tankless w/heater. I turn the hot water on, water gets hot after a long while, after a few minutes the water turns dead cold as heater is still on and water still flowing through the faucet. Why???
So just to confirm this will not work with a S model, exterior recirculation pump, and Navien pump wire, and NaviCirc Valve...? You have to have a A model??
Good video , however you re saying you cannot put a Grundfos bypass on a Navien S2? Well Navien themselves say their valve isn't the greatest and my licensed plumbers have bene using Grundfos with an external pump on S2 with no issues so I am confussed as to why you say it doesn't work? Sure the Navicirc valve is beefyier but it does the same job with the external pump as the Grundfos + external pump on a NPE-S2 . ( Edit oh unless you are saying if a return line already exists?)
Hi Mike, you mentioned you have an email in the comments, but I don't see it. I have a question about the space where the turn off valves are already located on a home built 30 years ago. I ordered the NaviCirc but I'm not sure it will fit. Thanks for providing. I will probably cancel the order until I hear from you. Thanks again -
Could you use 2 in one system for different locations in the house
Yes with Navien you can use two of them. Mike
Thanks for making this video brother. You know your stuff!
Can you please do a video of on a heat exchanger removal of a REU-N3237FFC-US model or on a similar model? Thanks!

Love the videos. Do you have the video for the settings to make at the unit for the navicirc?

I have to say it as per there guides but the Grundfos valve works we install them LOL Mike

Hey Tankless guy.. would you have some feedback on how to setup my Navien NPE 180A (NG) model unit. Thanks for your help? ROD
I have seen your video. I would like to set the one I have to recirculate within the unit. Thanks
