Great video. I have replaced multiple parts on my NPE 240A...Flow sensor and PCB. After I changed those parts , we started getting cold water on the hot. So I think it is the check valve The unit is about 2 years old.
If you decide to take a vacation, come to Billings, Montana, and help me install my tankless water heater. Love your channel been learning a lot. Getting ready to tackle that installation this spring. A little nervous, but I feel confident more now than ever after watching of videos. You’re awesome! Keep the great videos coming!
I hope a new check fixes the problem. Live in Iowa, very hard water. Npe 180a2 is not even 20 months old. Have flushed it 3 times and have replaced the flow sensor. Check valve is in the mail.
when I removed the old check valve on my 2017 navien 240A the valve came out in two separate sections that appear to have been factory snapped together and the very end piece was nowhere in sight. I did find the spring but my concern is the missing piece is a ticking time bomb that is going to clog up some other part of the system. The question - where would the missing part have possible gone, and do I need to worry? 🙂 The system is working fine with the new check valve. Thank You!
Hey Tankless Guy, do you have a video or information about the following issue. Whenever my NPE 240 A does a post purge on the system or the external recirculation pump runs there is a screeching/gurgling sound on the units. Do you have a suggestion for fixing?
Just so I understand fully, you install a valve on the return line and hook up a hose to that and the cold water side to clean it out? You don’t have to hook a hose up to the hot? I have the A series with an internal pump too.

What is the purpose of applying heat proof grease on the O ring and can you provide the brand of the grease? Thank you for the informative video.

In the navien book it said to put the valve at 9 for internal use but you said 9 is external use what is the correct position ?
I just replaced mine. However, I am still getting hot water into my cold intake. Anyone have any idea what it could be?
Be careful with that “push-turn-wiggle”, more often than not, you’ll be buying baby formula in about 9 months.
good information
Thanks 😁👍
