I feel like this attitude comes from negative self-talk. Like, you could cure cancer and still find ways to think of it as self-serving and petty.
You should of course try to do other things than talking supportively, but it absolutely matters.

Yeah, I don't think he objectively do anything wrong. It's not like he fake his opinion to gain clout. He seems genuinely have these good opinions and there's nothing wrong voicing them and getting clout in return.

I only listened to it once and have ADHD, but I think you got the gist, yes.
It's nothing complicated, and it has little to do with feminist itself. In this context, any concept would do.
You have an opinion and by voicing that opinion out loud you earn agreement. You feel accepted, belong, appreciated. That's reward. That's fulfilling your psychological needs as human being.

I don’t think everyone WANTS to have the same take. But when you let the desire for fame or $$ get to your head, you conform to whatever is in vogue at the time. You surrender original thought and quickly become one of many talking heads repeating the same thing over and over, hoping people will throw money and praise at you. You succumb to mediocrity.
Try having the controversial opinion and getting chewed out by 95% of the world and being mocked and hated. Try it.

Then there's older people from all over the globe, who also don't care. After that, there are people who actually use internet on some daily-basis. And then are the commenters, that's gonna comment on a video/topic, which are less than a 1% of the population. You're not getting chewed by most of the world, but by a group of people, that are supported by a big corporations. Why are they supported? Because this is just ridiciolous, and people above want to make us more separated, that things like a freaking sexuality, which was million times before proven to be only 3 for women, and 2 for men, are becoming political, and "message" is more important than facts. Sorry for bad english, i'm from Poland (Yeah, that explains why am a tr4nsphobe, or whatever 🙄)

I found this answer so pathetic. It’s like artificial empathy solely for attention good or bad. It sounds like this person is only talking about theses issues, like the video says “to make it all about themselves;” not because they actually care. But they want to get attention for looking like they stand for something that’s a provocative topic. I guess it all comes down to identity crisis. If they knew who they were and liked themselves they wouldn’t need a collective validation of attention that they mean something or have the power to effect other people. They wouldn’t care to speak to what’s going to get attention and they would even need attention from others.
