One thing I just thought of, about 10 to 15 years ago I remember being on a trip to Mexico, and I remember armed security being in front of stores and in front of certain luxury houses. Usually with long guns like the gas station guy has.
At the time I thought "that's just because Mexico has a crime problem, that would never happen in the U.S.A.".

Reminds me of Far Cry 5. There was a gas station with readable lore of the owner in it. It's about multiple complains and a request to remove the .50 cal machine gun from the roof, as the people feel threatened. Doesn't seem too far away from reality nowadays.

I been to that part of Philly. I actually met that guy. He’s a legit a cop. He owns and runs a security company. Security companies in Maryland, DC, New York, and Pennsylvania are allowed to put members of their security team through a special program these states offer called SPO (Special Police Officer). It’s a program these states have enacted to allow security guards to go through a crash course police training program where they’re taught the basics of policing. Once you’ve passed the program, you get sworn in and have police powers. It’s kinda like being a sworn in deputy or constable.

Don’t let this scene dictate your view of PA. Outside Shittsburgh and Filthadelphia, it is a great place to live. Out here in Pennsyltucky, everyone is armed. It is one of the most heavily armed places in the country. For example, my county has a concealed carry rate of nearly 55%. That is, over half the adults you see carry. The rest just don’t bother with the permit, but still have firearms at home.
If I could just excise Filthadelphia, the state would be perfect.

Moved out of the the Philly exurbs about two years ago, anytime I go in to visit family, I'm unreasonably happy for the following week just to not live there anymore. Sadly, I can 100% guarantee that everyone in those metro areas will continue to vote blue no matter who, they're the living personification of the dog drinking coffee in the middle of a conflagration saying "This is fine." I was in Honduras in 2015. Their businesses looked just like these - private security, heavily armed, controlling who goes in or out. And not just 'big corporate buildings'. Gas stations smaller than most of the US-type convenience stores had at least 2 guys on duty.

It's in a 12 gauge bullpup made in Turkey. I think it holds 15 to 20 rounds. I wouldn't trust that long of a magazine. Those really long ones tend to be prone to jamming, and they are also a bit heavy.

Private security seems to have a better sense of justice than the police
There's single-celled organisms that have a better sense of justice than the police these days.
It does, one reason being it isn't run by government which is just a monopoly on force and arbitration.
Another reason being if the private security sucks you can just fire it.
Can't do that with government police. Not easily anyway.
