NEW! Veto Pro TP-LD Blackout - A Mix of the TP-LC and SB-LD

- Just got in my TP-LD from Veto Pro Pac.
I will have loadouts eventually, but I wanted to go ahead and share the features of the bag and compare it to an older bag you all might have, the TP-LC and the SB-LD which was also released. That way if you are on the fence you will get an idea if you need to pull the trigger on any of these bags before the Spring promotion ends.
Let me know what you think, or if you have any questions in the comments below. Thanks for watching!

I been waiting for this bag to be available, good thing i watch your videos because i didn’t get an email from veto telling me it’s now available. Thanks for the heads up, i just ordered mine 😬.
Yeah good to go ahead and get a DP3 if you were wanting one 👍
Of course do loadout video! I really do like the black and this was catching my eye in the beginning if the promo but was out of stock so I got something else for the dp3. This is one of te few bags the v swap pannels really is appealing. I would like to see what our current setup would look like in that and you may have talked me into another bag. Plus it's black!
Yeah, the promo still going pulled me back in. I’m interested in that DP3 for a meter/tool pouch. Going to see how that works out
So is that a commitment to a loadout video?
@@MattHmm-rq6dn I will try and do one before the promo ends if I can.
Check out rays apartment maintenence recent video he's using a car detail seat from hf and it may cause me to reccend my comments on mechanics seat for outlets. It may be a excuse for you to go to hf?
@@MattHmm-rq6dn I will see if I can find it. I’m subscribed to him, but his stuff doesn’t hit my recommended often either
This is great, they finally made one of these with a wider base so it doesn’t fall over all the time! Now we need a wider base on the tp4b!
Yeah I see this as an upgrade to the TPLC. I didn’t have an issue with it being as tippy as the TPXL… but I could see that being a thing.
@@MORGANSMaintenance I’m using the tp4b as my main bag for commercial hvac service and it’s awesome, but it tips over ALL THE TIME! lol veto, I hope you read this!
@@89dhvac I used to use the TP4B as my main service bag. It is a great option, holds a lot for its size.
I’ve got so many bags now it’s moved into my house. I often sell my extras, but it was so good when I used it I always thought I’d go back to it. I’ve not tried a 5 or 6B
I bought the MP2X based on your comparison video of the MPX/MP1X/MP2X. And I just ordered the Tech Pac Blackout. Definitely do a load out of the TP-LD Blackout. I’m also more interested in that than the SB-LD because of the cover.
I may have some time to move some tools around one day… I still haven’t got in my MB5B yet 😂
I love my MP pouches, I use them more than anything
Love it! Mine should be here today. Another huge difference is the SB-LD is missing the interior side pockets on both sides that BOTH TP-bags have. Veto could add those to the SB-LD for a huge improvement for carrying smaller tools, bits, or extensions.
Yeah, you can tuck stuff in there on the SBLD, but it’s hard to get out. You definitely can’t stick a pair on 10” cobras like you can on the TP’s
Co-worker Bought a new bag, got the SB-LD free and sold it to me for $60. My opinion, it is the best of the 3. Not concerned with the cover. If it is going to rain I grab my TP-XXL. SB-LD is a great quick grab option. I have a Tech-MCT, TP4B, TP6B, TP-XXL, and the SB-LD. Veto has enough of my money, hope Roger enjoys his bank statement. LOL. They are good bags.
I’ve been liking the SBLD so far… I like closed bags for the weather and for appearance, but I do like that back section of the SBLD.
My opinion is The TPLD is more of a TPLC upgrade now that I’ve seen it in person. It’s a little bigger, so the LC might fit someone who wants a small footprint bag better… but I use my MP Pouches as my small bags now.
They do make good bags. The deal you made is an option I always recommend to people during the spring promotion. Find a friend who wants a bag and make a deal 👍
You're one of those who turned me on to Veto bags around the beginning of the year, with some of your videos and the giveaways. Still, I don't know anyone who can inspire the emptying of a wallet faster than Joey Morgan, PhD (today's purchase was a laser-level, although a lot cheaper than the one he showed).
The TP-LD is a perfect computer tech bag. The extra room is enough space for a replacement board or two, and unlike the SB-LD (which has that area in the rear box), it has the interior side pockets for smaller screwdrivers, bits, and extenders.
lol, man now I’m really thinking about it!
@@Jesus_Strong 😂
@@MORGANSMaintenance we are also forgetting the main reason for a cover for the bag. It’s too keep the residents little kids from digging through my bag while I’m working 😂
I just received my TP- LD. I absolutely love it. I was currently using an overstuffed MB2 blackout for HVAC. The replacement bag fits all the items I had in my previous bag, but with better organization. I was very close to purchasing the Veto TP-XD based off your video. The Spring promotion came around and saw pictures of the TP-LD. I could not decide between the two bags because they are very similar, but I decided on the. TP-LD. One of the bags is wider and one of the bags is deeper. Could you do a video comparing and contrasting the two bags. I was curious as to whether or not the items that fit into a TP-LD will fit an into a TP-XD?
If I had a TP-XD I would, but I don’t have one of those. Maybe someone on here does though and they can give you an idea.
I never liked the MB bags for tools for the reason you said… hard to organize since it’s mostly just open space
Nice bag. It’s a little more similar to the TP-LC than I expected, but definitely seems like a nice upgrade/refresh to that bag.
I thought the same thing when I opened it.. I was like, I’ve seen this before 😂
It is a little more roomy and less tippy (not that I had a tippy problem with the LC). Big advantage is removing panels if you want for options. I do feel like it’s definitely more like the TPLC than the SBLD
I’m sure they will likely do a LC Blackout at some point.
You’re such a bad influence. I’m just a home DIY’er, but your excitement and review over this bag made me go out and order one. Thanks for the heads-up on the promo. Got that, too.
It’s going to be a good bag… I’m still on the fence of it I like the SBLD or the TPLD better, only time will tell. Put a cover on the SBLD and it would be hard to beat, but I definitely like the TPLD better than the TPLC.
They both have their advantages depending on what you want to do with them.
I got my DP3 yesterday… I may end up liking it more than all of them 😂
The promo time is always a good time… splitting the cost between two bags makes it doable 👍
I filmed a video tonight moving my tools from the SBLD to the TPLD to see how they fit for people to get an idea. I may be able to put it out tomorrow
Thank you 👍 the only thing we can't veto is the strain on our wallet we make it happen when it comes to new tool bags.
I like that TP-LD I have been looking for a replacement for a toolbelt , I’m getting too old to rock a tool belt on my tired old hip, If I carry this with a shoulder strap. It can hold more tools also to keep me from walking back to truck that I can’t keep in a tool belt. I usually keep my tools in the trunk and have to gather them up after they spill out. I think I’m sold I’ll gift tool belt to the young guys.
It does look like a nice medium sized bag… one you can’t make overly heavy 👍
Its only money, one can never have too many Veto bags, OT-LC for plumbing, SB-LD for light HVAC troubleshooting in my SUV, Tech MCT and TP-LC in Svc truck plus each vehicle gets an MP1X for little stuff and a bunch of back ups in my tool room. Plan on getting TP-LD with DP3 before end of promo.
That’s what I always say.. it’s only money… I can make more.
You have to enjoy things or what’s the point 😂
Excited for next year's promo 😂😂😂😂
I’m not sure if I am or not, this years cost me 😂
It only cost me for a little while though, I will definitely have to offload some bags this year, but that’s hard to do while the spring promotion is going on
I am too, not that I need another bag! Funny thing is, chances are it will be the free bag that interests me most.
@MORGANSMaintenance You'll sell your spare bags so it won't be as bad. As a first year customer, Veto made some money off me, too. 🤣
Yeah, I keep all my bags clean enough that I don’t lose much on them when I sell them. I basically end up just paying an” small “upgrade fee” most years when it’s all said and done.
@MORGANSMaintenance when does the promo usually start? I'm looking to buy now but I'd rather wait for the promo.
You done did it again..
😂… 👍👍
@@MORGANSMaintenance making me spend more money on stuff after watching your videos 😂
@@Nainoauyeno_ I have to drag you all down with me 😂
Look shinny 🎣 almost gotcha
So if you found a perfect bag, do it mean you won't buy any more? Wink, wink...
Very good review. If I wanted to buy any of those this video would tell me everything I need to know.
There’s always the next new one 😂… we will see next spring what kind of arm twisting they do. I definitely won’t buy one till then.. I think.
@@MORGANSMaintenance I've made a terrible mistake with that "do it mean". Sorry.
I like when a bag/backpack/shoes, especially the ones I use in work, don't change. I wish some models of shoes were made for 100 years. So I usually not only don't wait for the next model, but I'm rather anxious what they gonna spoil in the next instalment.
@@Stefan_Kawalec my brain read right over it.. it read, does it mean.. wouldn’t have even know had you not said anything 😂
I have those thoughts with certain things as well, they more often ruin things instead of making them better. Pretty rare that the sequel is better than the original.
Will the v-swap front tool panel fit inside the TP-LC size wise ?
It’s one of the features I like on the new bag and I’m thinking of retrofiting it to my TP-LC (perhaps cutting off the two inside small pockets and sewing some velcro to which the v-swap panel can stick). Thx
It is the same size area, so it should work if you wanted to try it
on the front of your SB-LD, what's that you've got on your measuring tape holder? some kind of attachment for morale patches? I would like to know more 🙂
I made it out of a scrap piece of Aluminum and a tape measure clip.
Then I just put some of the hook/loop stuff on it.
Think I would stick with the SB-LD, I like to have the meter and leads separated from the tools for my loadout. Or I have a separate meter bag, but it is slightly more awkward to carry two bags together than the on SB-LD, which I find nice.
I have really liked the SBLD so far. I know I will sell my TPLC likely for now as this definitely replaces it for me. Just for the options of removing things.
The TPLC is a smaller bag which is nice at times, but that is basically what I use all my MP pouches for..
I will use both LD’s over time and see if one stands out as more useful… or maybe I run them both, but for different stuff/weather
I'm in the same boat, and glad not to be tempted to buy more! SB-LD is great bag - especially having gotten it as a freebie. That said, I have two wishes to make it 'perfect': a protective flap for the main compartment, and side attachment points like the TP-XXL (my main bag), so I can hang an M12 drill or impact. I might make a flap myself using some magnets.
@Justin-C agree with all you said.
I like the flap for the rain, but I also like the clean look of a closed bag.
@@Justin-C Looked at the TP-XXL a few times but not indulged myself yet. A cover for the SB-LD would be nice, maybe Veto could make one as an option if there is enough call for it. I also carry tools in the side pouches though, so they are still exposed to the elements unless I go poncho style cover.
Maaaan I want this now too. I want the MP2X, but its not as much of a need for me as the Tech Pac Blackout is because i need a durable backpack. Being a commercial electrician, I dont want to be treading my packout around in th dirt or mud for 3/4 of the duration of the job, especially when most of the time i just need my drills and hand tools.
I’ll probably pick up the TP-LD or the MP2X for the spring promotion next year. Need to see how that LC fairs in comparison to my TP4b
I think it will be a good bag. I got the LC after my TP4B… I think I even have a video putting my TP4B tools into my TPLC to see how they fit
@@MORGANSMaintenance ill go back and check it out
Did you get the free drill pouch for the tpld purchase?
Yes I did. I haven’t got it yet, but it’s on its way
Have you ever done a review of your fluke 324? How do you like it?
No I haven’t. I’ve had it for quite some time and it would be my Meter of Choice for what I do. There isn’t much I need a meter to do that it doesn’t do.
@@MORGANSMaintenance great thank you!
VETO City !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It’s going to be a Veto Video Week…. I have two more coming (videos not bags 😂)
Boss man, can you review the harbor freight multitool version of wave made by gordon. I just saw it on their site under new tools. $39.99.
It deleted my reply saying I’d check it out, but I ordered one today….
Appreciate the suggestion 👍
Does the tp-ld have a shoulder strap?
No, it doesn’t come with one… or at least mine didn’t
Think I'll stick with my SB-LD. I rather like the rear compartment for my lesser used tools and pouch of bits and bobs.
I like that myself too. Hopefully they come out with a similar with a cover
How much to have a cover put on that bag?
I have no idea. If I knew someone locally that could do it, I might would take my LC and see if someone could.
This reminds me more of the TP6B that was free in the promo last year but with a cover… They do look so much better in black though!
Something you might be interested in checking out if you can get hold of it in the US… Hultafors have a bucket they sell an insert/liner for to create tool pockets. I find it really useful if I don’t want to take all my gear into a site. I leave it empty in my truck then I can just grab exactly what I need and it’s all nicely organised rather than dumping it all in a big open bucket
I think it might be a lot like the 6B… I didn’t get that one, or seen it.
I will look up the Hultafors 👍
Home Depot had (has?) a bucket-wrap with tool pockets in it; I think we got one, that Sonia uses for garden tools.
I suspect the TP-LD will be just about perfect for me, likely with the front pockets removed for some bulk space.
@OnusBones I may end up doing the same depending how stuff fits in the sides
Get two TP LDs and hook them up like saddle bags.
Would look nice on a bike… or a horse I guess 😂
👍👍
Ah three months late, I’ve been iffy about the sb ld, been using it for a month/ originally purchased the ot-lc, but dam bags too heavy for most jobs, so now it only gets used for big jobs, sb-ld gets 90% of the work I do done, but I kinda find it annoying having to open the back zipper to get my meter, might buy this bag.
@@Soulkking yeah it’s nice to have things protected, but there is a point where access is nice.
Not a fan of the Blackout line. I think the original look is more distinct and on site Blackout looks rubbish once it gets a bit of concrete dust sprinkled on it. I also have no desire to be using V-Swap!
SB-LD with a cover would make it a perfect tester/2nd fix bag for me!
I like the idea of VSwap just because it gives you options, but I don’t typically use it.
I like both color options, but I’m like you.. I may actually prefer the OG.. but the blackout bags I have MCT, etc have extra features I prefer.
Omg just show us
👍
I have to use ...
A plastic box, in a backpack is good enough.
It's just gonna get stolen, by cigarette smoking cartoon characters with daddy/drug problems.
❌🚬 🤡🤞 🎒🪛🛠️❌
That can happen depending on where you live… stinks
You haven't seen how I and my other workers keep an eye on there tool bags like there livelihood depends on it. Everything goes back into the bag when I leave in its place. Turns out I don't loose tools it's our version of rhe corvette in the driveway for a retired person.
@@MattHmm-rq6dn I have to do that occasionally on job sites where I’m a sub. And working around others I don’t know yet. It’s always hard to tell if they are curious about tools they haven’t seen.. or if they are scoping me out 😂
