    As the only maintenance technician for a historical inn (1843), my daily routine has me covering many rooms on many floors. No elevator in this old gal so my tool bag needs to be light and efficient in the selection of tools. I stumbled upon your review(s) of the various Veto bags. Your reviews are thorough, informative, and to the point, making my decision on bag choice that much easier. Pulling that Milwaukee installation drill from the SB-LD bag sealed the deal. I use that same drill but had to carry it in the case it came with in addition with my other bag. Great review! Keep up the great work!

      This has been my favorite small bag so far. I have gotten used to the no flap (which is actually better for function), but I still like the appearance of a closed bag.
      I bet that’s an interesting job. I worked at a place that was an 80 year old dormitory orphanage that was converted to multiple things. I thought that was old 😂. It’s always interesting in old buildings

    Perfect timing. I just got my SB-LD yesterday. I purchased the MCT Blackout for the promo. I also have a TP-LC as my truck grab bag. I’m not exactly sure what this bag will become. I like the idea of a drill bag with the M12 installation driver.

    Great to see your load out, thanks for sharing. I am finding the small outside pocket a little larger and don't hold tools quite as nicely. Also found that the bit hold sockets inside the front pouch are smaller and don't hold my 3/8 drive deep sockets and extension like my other bag.

    • @MORGANSMaintenance
      @MORGANSMaintenance  9 місяців тому

      Yeah, I think I can lose either the flip sockets or the pass thru’s..
      I may have to run the pass thru’s for awhile and see if the length is too long, too often. If so I may have to keep the flip sockets instead since I can put them on shorter shafts.

    Got this on the way as a freebie along with the TP-XXL - makes it much easier to pull the trigger on a premium-priced bag when you get two. I'm pretty stoked to be receiving two very promising looking bags both with nice meter compartments. This SB-LD could end up my main bag because of that. Very nice & well-designed bag by the look of things - as expected of Veto at this point - I can't wait to get them. The size of the pile of tools out of these things contain is always surprising - like a clown car.
    Seems like your setup covers most things you could encounter in many trades. In addition to some of what you have, I'll have a Wera tool check in mine, along with a Milwaukee Fastback 1505, and their new 8pc insulated slim-tip blade driver set '48-22' which are nice. Might consider your 51 01 210 carpenters cutters/hammerhead as a hammer stand-in (for things like wire staples)!

      I am always amazed at what they will hold. I thought about the XXL but ended up with the MB5B, still unsure about it.

    Nice look at that bag. It certainly fits a lot. I need to finish a TP-LC loadout, then decide if I want a SB-LD (plus another free DP3), or wait for the TP-LD. I'm inclined to think I'll wait.

    • @MORGANSMaintenance
      @MORGANSMaintenance  9 місяців тому +2

      I would like to have a flap myself. That’s just like it was raining here today and even with the bag in my truck with the doors open, I still got some sprinkles on my tools. Just opens them up for rust (not mine since I clean and Houdini the Fire out of them)… but for most.

    • @Justin-C
      @Justin-C 9 місяців тому +1

      @@MORGANSMaintenance yeah, with the TP-XXL on the way and this SB-LD as a freebie.. despite wanting to possibly downsize even more, lack of a flap against rain is one reason I might stick with the TP-XXL as a main. We'll have to see. Solid 'freebie' promos like this of well-designed & made products seem rare this day & age.

    In my option here’s what you can get rid of:
    Side cutters- you have the knifed carpenter style , the LN47ACF and the knipex installation pliers all with cutters.
    You have the Klein stubby so you don’t need the Wera mini screwdriver.
    The knipex pliers wrench is technically an adjustable wrench so I would carry 1 of each. And they can compliment each other if you needed to use them on opposing sides of a nut.
    I think you can either get rid of the Kleins but drivers or the flip sockets, since they’re one and the same.
    And as you mentioned, you don’t need the hex keys AND the ball end.
    Remember what they say “ounces are pounds and pounds are tons”

    Great Vid. I got the Tech XL-Wheeler which I'm currently loading which will be my "Mac Daddy" bag then I got the SB-LD still waiting on. My current main bag is my TP XXL which I love by the way. I think I can make the SB-LD my main carry in bag with the MPX1 or 2. I'm trying not to duplicate but I'm worried I'll forget my mpx1/2 one day and I won't have my main top 5 tools duplicated . But great tips. The Decisions to make on how to load bags are mind boggling.

      I recently got the Tech-XL Wheeler as well. Boy, my wallet hurts! That is my general purpose bag now. It's nicer wheeling my tools around instead of lugging them. I first tried the Tech Pac Wheeler but couldn't fit all of the my tools in there (and didn't like that the backpack straps were not removable). The SB-LD will be my electrical bag, whenever I get it.

I have almost dumped the side cutters as well as the linesman for the marvel cross cut combo pliers (engineer vampliers makes one) since that does twisting and cutting 90% of the time. The side cutters 10in may stick around but the linesman have been exiled

    Morgan loved the video and finally great to see a loadout for this bag. I do a lot of low voltage work and been looking to get this as bag for my hand tools and meters. I think my favorite part of your video is the Klein 8 in 1 stubby with the Riley sheath where it clicks in perfectly. I found it on Riley Knife and Tool website but was just curious if that's the only place to purchase it. Also curious how its been holding out and if you ever notice any wear over time. I'm in the same boat with many that either the stubby goes in too far or inadvertently pops out and drives me crazy! Thank you!

    • @MORGANSMaintenance
      @MORGANSMaintenance  9 місяців тому +1

      I don’t think he is selling them on anything else. He still hand makes them all individually as far as I know.
      I haven’t had any issues with any of mine. The stubby one is really just a sheath and some fasteners so I can’t see it really tearing up, especially how I’m using it.
      I have some of his for my bigger screwdrivers that have belt clips on them. I haven’t had any issues with those either, but I also only use them in special circumstances.. not everyday.
      They seem quality built to me, but even if you have an issue multiple people have reached out saying how easy he has been to deal with on support. I’m sure he would make it right.

Those adjustable wrenches and the two pliers wrenches seem rather redundant. I'd get rid of the adjustables. Though, I carry one pliers wrench and one Bahco big-mouth adjustable. The Bahco to hold the work piece and the pliers wrench to do the wrenching. All of the nut drivers and the flip sockets seem redundant as well.

The bahco adjustable wrenches are lighter than thoes in your bag or go lobster which are crazy light. The same setup you have in your video. Is it nothing more than just the newness of the bag? Was yours a little tight until things broke in?

      Which way you rotate it in there makes a little bit of a difference. I was putting mine in head first. It also depends on what you have in those pockets. It does break in some though.

    Great video! Somehow i missed this one but glad it popped up in my feed. I have the icon mini ratchet set and im looking to squeeze it in with minimal footprint but i really want to have 1/4 sockets to pair with it. Are the klein flip sockets a viable/space saving option or would I be better suited using the maktia socket rails you have shown? I have similar railer bit rails to cover bits.

    • @MORGANSMaintenance
      @MORGANSMaintenance  8 місяців тому +1

      The flip sockets work, just not as small a footprint as the Makita Sockets on the hex adapter that comes with the Icon.. you can get them in tighter spaces.
      For general use out in the open, the flip sockets do fine.
