I’m actually starting on Monday, I applied for the beauty advisor position like 4 days ago and they called me the next day for the interview and the person who was interviewing me was very nice... they called me again and told I’m going start on Monday! I’m so excited 😍
Ahhh, I can't wait. I applied and they called me in for an interview and this video really gave me an idea of how it should go. Great advice and tips, thank you so much!!!!♥
Yes Alta had a grand opening in my area and I have been wanting to apply but I'm not great with makeup and didn't know if you have to put on makeup on customers so I do like that the regular beauty advisor doesn't have to. I'm more into the skincare side so banking on that will shine brighter than my makeup skills. Thank you 💜 Love and hugs
Thanks, you did a wonderful job articulating your points! Nice to see someone who's thought out the message!!! I've seen many who dive in and don't really know what they want to say. So, thanks again.
I mean I can be patient and I keen to help people with their inquires like to find products or to help my teammates. Idk. I like giving compliments. This would be one of the reasons why I would be a good candidate.
Girlllll thank you so so much this was the most helpful video that I have found. I just got called for an interview and I was freaking out but your notes and tips gave me some confidence. I took notes as you were speaking. Also, i liked your video and subscribed. keep up the good work xoxo
I just got a job last week as a part time prestige beauty advisor except it is seasonal with a chance to be permanent. I don't think seasonal even get any gratis and since I started late I think the higher discount ended. Do they put you on crazy hours all over the place? Although I love makeup, I'm not sure if it is worth it in the end with low pay and hours all over but plan to try to stick it out till February (end of seasonal) to see if things get better. The whole getting checked in and out thing is new for me as well as clear lockers. There doesn't seem to be much real training. I started out watching videos by myself. There is no break room and everything is all just is in the back stock room with only one computer to log in and out of. Wondering if this is usual of all ultas?
+in which state do you work for? I think the pay is pretty good for being a college student mine is well above minimum wage. There is no breakroom but we do have an area for breaks. Getting checked in and out and clear lockers is for internal theft protection which I assume there has been a lot of since everyone loves makeup and it's expensive lol. The increased discount was about 2 weeks back. It sounds like your set up is pretty much the same as all Ultas. My schedule is very consistent it might be because you are a seasonal worker if you decide to stay it should be a lot more predictable Eurie “paintednightsky” Yeo
I work in NY and it is only $10.50. I can't even imagine workers themselves stealing I guess because they get a good enough discount lol Just seems like nerve to steal from where you work. For instance my schedule is 4-midnight, 2-11, and 10-6 this week. Just not sure it is worth it if hours are going to be all over the place weekly but at least only till February. The thing that drew me to the job was definitely makeup and not the pay so hoping it balances out and makes it somewhat worth it. Thanks for your input :)
I think you should stick it out. They might pay seasonal workers a lot differently. The experience itself is definitely worth it!!! Make your goal there to become permanent.
So she asked if you had a portfolio even though you were applying for the Beauty Advisor position? I have an interview Saturday for a Beauty Advisor position and your video was really helpful!
if i could love this video i would 💕 how do they feel about hair color? i’m a bold person so i would like to know any appearance restrictions (your look in this video is so me)
Girl, you came back with a boom! Lol love your hair and make up, looks great. I was wondering if ulta and sephora basically sell the same products? And what brand would you suggest for a face powder for normal type skin? Thanks!
Sephora's brand price Points are a lot Higher, they also indulge in products like Makeup Forever, YSL, Dior etc. Ulta also has drugstore products in it. They both sell Becca, Smashbox, Urban Decay, Tarte, Buxom, Bare Minerals, Stila and a few other brands so a lot is Similar but the more Higher end Luxury brands are at Sephora only. Thank you so much! I know I have been trying to put my all into this go around haha! An all over face Powder for normal skintypes Sacha Buttercup, Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder, Makeup Forever Pro Finishing Powder or even Bobbi Brown has some really good ones too both loose and pressed!
Hello. I accidentally applied for beauty advisor for my location because i didn't know the difference. I have an interview tomorrow for the BA position but would like to start as PBA. I have experience working for Estee Lauder as a beauty advisor. Do you think I should call and tell her I'd like to interview for PBA?? Thanks!
Girl idk why but the Sephora/Ulta by my place is so hard to get into. I've applied numerous times, I'm self taught and I think that because of that they make it impossible to get hired. Ira frustrating.
Lola b Keep applying to Sephora. It can take up to a month to get a call back. I filled out my app on the first of May, wasn't called back until 3 1/2 weeks later. They love self taught, the company values are amazing and that kind of determination is greatly valued.
I applied and I didn’t even get an interview. The application said it was opened.. not sure what that means but I’m pretty sure it means no. I’m so disappointed 😭
I’m thinking of applying for ulta and I really hope I get the job I don’t have much experience working but the little that I do have has been good. I wouldn’t know how to answer questions about bad work experiences. Also on the questionnaire what is the best way to answer them without making them too basic. I don’t wanna answer them and have them be common sense but enough to get the job
I recently applied to an Ulta near me, but the position I applied for was called "Task (Temporary)". Do you know what that position is exactly? Because I was a little confused.
I have my first interview on 2/27, I applied for prestige beauty advisor and was really looking forward to being so. Yet I got an email saying they thought I would be good for a speciality beauty advisor for Clinique. The only problem is I am allergic to a lot of Clinique things, for some reason they always break my face out and dry it out. If I become a beauty advisor for Clinique I'm sure I would have to wear Clinique and I just could not do it. But I really want to work for Ulta, what can I do? Any suggestions?
what can i say if i have no experience in retail/ no job ever? how long should i wait until i know i won't get a call back ? Which i hope i do cuz i really want this job.
I am not sure if it is just the area I live in but... I have been to multiple Ultas around San Antonio and Houston, and I have never once seen a staff member applying makeup to a customer as a makeover or just to test out a product. I didn't even know that that is something Ulta did until you mentioned it. Do you think it is just the locations that I have been to?
Cady with Kaleidoscope Eyes in our ulta we do it. We use to be able to do makeovers but they actually banned that after holiday so now we only Do demos on clients
okay, so I don't know if anyone will read this but I have a question. I was interviewed for "prestige beauty advisor" for Clinique...1 week ago. I called the hiring manager and she says I'm "one of her top candidates" then proceeds to tell me I need to complete the questionnaire/assessment specifically for clinique and then she will be calling me back. that was yesterday...do you believe I got the position?
This is so, so helpful. I applied online a few days ago, and I'm planning on going in tomorrow. But I have blue hair and a nose piercing.. What are Ulta's rules about piercings and hair color?
wait, so if you answered all or most of the questions right will they send you an email saying the application was received? Or will that happen regardless?
I wish I had waiting a week before applying for these tips! I applied last week and I've never had a job before so I'm just like ok no experience (I did my best on my resume lol) and idk wtf they want. I applied for regular beauty advisor. They haven't gotten back to me and now that you said something about the questionnaire score I'm like okay I'm fucked. So basically I'm not expecting a response :(
TheWarOfFashion i'm so sorry to hear that. Which one did you apply for? And what you can do is make a whole new account and apply again and really pay attention to the questionnaire, do not make the answers personal think about what the employer is looking for. If u need any help u can comment underneath here with the question. Also, on your resume if u don't have expierence try and focus on assets that you do have. Include any other languages you know fluently. Include somehow that you're very friendly and provide excellent customer service.
I hate everything about how
I look in this video please don't pay too much mind to my
Face lmao
Lina Lauren Girl stop! Your makeup looks great. What shadow did you use?

Ahhh, I can't wait. I applied and they called me in for an interview and this video really gave me an idea of how it should go. Great advice and tips, thank you so much!!!!♥
What should a person wear for a Interview for the beauty advisor position?

What questions did they ask if I may ask🤨
❤️❤️*
So she asked if you had a portfolio even though you were applying for the Beauty Advisor position?
I have an interview Saturday for a Beauty Advisor position and your video was really helpful!
Zena Thompson did you watch the whole video?
Yes, I know it's not required and clients would want to see it but beauty advisors are just retail. That's why I was asking.
oh sorry not for the beauty advising
if i could love this video i would 💕 how do they feel about hair color? i’m a bold person so i would like to know any appearance restrictions (your look in this video is so me)
Slay Me LeiLei they don’t care about hair! Thanks for watching love! Please subscribe xx.
how much do you get paid for a prestige beauty advisor? 😊

I have experience working for Estee Lauder as a beauty advisor. Do you think I should call and tell her I'd like to interview for PBA?? Thanks!
Sasha Pickett just mention how much you are interested in the prestige side and all the experience you have with estee
Is there a pay difference between beauty and prestige beauty advisors?
Girl idk why but the Sephora/Ulta by my place is so hard to get into. I've applied numerous times, I'm self taught and I think that because of that they make it impossible to get hired. Ira frustrating.

Ty

Madison Younts Wear products similar to Clinique's or their look so you can point out similar products.
what can i say if i have no experience in retail/ no job ever? how long should i wait until i know i won't get a call back ? Which i hope i do cuz i really want this job.
I just applied to Ulta and talked to the manager about applying but do you know how long it tales for them to call you back? I wish I get the job ❤
so helpful!
Should I wear heels?
thank you amazing video!
Now kat von d is sold in Ulta 👍

Miss Muffin you have to wait. You have to get a certain score on the assessment in order to be considered
Lina Lauren Thanks so much for the reply! This has just been eating at me all week! I know you're working at Sephora now, I wish you the best!
What did you wear makeup wise and outfit wise for your interview?
Brianna Kroth she said in the video
i just filled out an application online! I hope they call me soo bad!!
I didn't know ulta did makeovers.
This is so, so helpful. I applied online a few days ago, and I'm planning on going in tomorrow. But I have blue hair and a nose piercing.. What are Ulta's rules about piercings and hair color?
They don't care!
Are black spandex okay for the interview or just slacks?
Well Done!!!!!!
wait, so if you answered all or most of the questions right will they send you an email saying the application was received? Or will that happen regardless?
+Audri Gharakhanian they'll call you
+Audri Gharakhanian you'll get that
Email regardless
oh ok thank you !
The interviews you attended were for the prestige position correct? 😅 btw great video! It was so full of information❤
They changed the age limit to 16+ I just applied 😁
Would they hire pregnant women ?
This seems like a lot of memorization needed damn
You the best 😛

If ULTA wants a certain image, why is there a lady (20s) at mine whose foundation is extremely yellow and caked on EVERYDAY I go
JUJU lol!! They dont care as long as u got it on!
Salicylic acid made me break out extremely bad
How do you think the experience is today?
I've been studying makeup training online and found a fantastic website at Bloom Blueprint Crusher (google it if you're interested)
