a tip for proclaim! if you go to setting> Display and choose the foreground only. it will display the text only on a black background. alternatively, you can make your own custom confidence monitor display that say only shows 2 lines of text and instead of displaying that as a confidence display it as working as your lower 4/3 lyrics! hope that help if you need more info i am happy to help!

I have similar setup. You do not need the usb cord, you can connect the computer to the switcher by IP address. That frees up the USB port to plug a storage device so you can use the record function.
I normally hook it up initially to make hardware changes that can't be done via ethernet
@@AJaytheCEO I was unaware that there was any setup you could do from usb that you could not do from ethernet. You just have to select the I intial connection differently. I ended up.using the usb and obs initially because the hardware encoder and Facebook did not play well together. Live was ok but after processing the sound was out of sync. Windows updates messed me up last Sunday's service so I tried the hardware encoder again and Facebook must have fixed it now it is ok. I also decided I wanted the usb to save the service to disk so if the streaming gets interrupted I can upload the service afterwards. I love your videos, Very informative and well presented. Thank you.

Routing the audio directly to the ATEM mini, it doesn't have the lag of the HDMI feeds, so it is slightly early (you're a musician so you must have noticed?). We have routed it through one of our cameras which has XLR input, and then use the audio from that HDMI stream as main audio, or can you insert a delay in the audio processor or mixer? We only have an analog out mixer with reverb, so we had to do it the simple way.

Suggestion, you really shouldn't take XLR balanced to unbslanced. out of the Ultramatch with a Stereo XLR Females to male jack to the line in of the ATEM.
The Ultramatch is a balanced out and the ATEM is unbalanced in. You have the wrong impedance.
You need to use a Di box in the middle. The XLRs coming out of the Ultramatch into the Balanced +4 dbu of the Di box. The Di box Line Level -10 dbV into the line level - 15 dbV input of the ATEM. Do not use an XLR stereo females to jack adapter out of the Di box.
Remember your taking professional high impedance equipment and connecting it to a consumer low impedance device. You need to have the two inverse phase and ground pushed into a single phase dual channel. This is the purpose of a Di Box using either active circuitry or passive transformers.
The Ultramatch is an Active source, so the Di Box needs to be a Passive Di Box
If you have a Passive Source output, than the Di Box needs to be Active. The ART Cleanbox Pro is an example of an Active Di Box.
For your situation it may be difficult to find a Passive Box with the inputs you need. In this scenario you may be forced to get the ART Cleanbox Pro. It's better than just having the cable setup you currently have to the ATEM.
You will also notice a discernable difference in audio quality while monitoring the ATEMs audio. Currently you have the inverse phase of the balanced signal being predominantly pushed to the left channel of the line level input of the ATEM. This leaves the sound dull, empty and at a lower signal decibal. With the Cleanbox converting down to unbalanced HiFi Line Level, you'll hear the sound filling both channels equally, fully and at full volume.
I know you may not be having any issues and may think that it's not worth it. However, Electromagnetic interference inside and outside your church will always fluctuate. You don't want to take a chance a loud or low hum will occur spontaneously during service.
Besides, the Cleanbox is cheap. About $80.

This video is so informative, currently budgeting for the mini pro but our idea is to connect 3 cameras, and type c for webcam and embed the graphics via Easyworship then projection, we intend to record the clean switching without graphics to edit later for our tv program and social media, and the HDMI out to Multicam. What's your opinion on this and what did you use to get the longer hdmi connection?
Hi AJ, first of all, thank you so much for your videos on Atem Mini & Mini Pro. I actually bought both models as well. I started with using the Atem Mini Pro about 3 weeks ago, love the multiview function, but for some reason, the HDMI output stopped working. It was OK the first 2 weeks, but all of a sudden it stopped working yesterday. I've been using the same setup, same equipment and even the same cables. I noticed around 9:00m, you faced the same issue yourself, but you had it fixed at around 11:24m by switching the video output. I changed mine too, but still doesn't work. What do you the could it possible be ? I read from Blackmagic's forum, a guy actually changed the power adapter from its original 3 amps to 5 amps. Do you think it's advisable ?
Thank you! - Question: When you connect to the USB-c port to record (via SSD or SD card), how then do you connect to the computer for what BMD calls "webcam out, software control, software updates and panel connection"? Does the hub allow you to both/simultaneously record (SSD or SD) AND connect via the USB3 port to the computer to connect with the Control Panel, etc?
No you can't do both

My setup was a bit different in our main sanctuary but you can come out from the mixer directly
how do you get around not having multiview for any cameras, just having the ability to output the main video from the HDMI?
Is there a way to keep the DSK on during camera/input cutting. I was under the impression that the Key would stay on when cutting through inputs without having to do a macro.
HDMI Port 1 is specifically made for GAMING device for lowest latency and only has YUV Colors. 🙂

I finished setting up my brand new ATEM
MINI PRO ISO last night for service today. Except today I get to church and while setting up I think I may have changed a setting on the ATEM SOFTWARE CONTROL (1080p24fps) All of a sudden my monitor stops working and I am unable to use the switcher for service today cause I can’t see any of the inputs/preview/programme on the monitor. I have tried all the different video settings but the Monitor is still saying “NO SIGNAL”. But it was working fine last night. I have tried everything (restart ATEM MINI PRO, COMPUTER, RESTORE ATEM MINI PRO ISO through SOFTWARE CENTER by going to FILE -> RESTORE). Please advise what to do! Obviously a bit down I couldn’t use my ATEM MINI PRO ISO for the first time today.
What monitor are you using again with your atem?
Can you do an updated video on this, where you go over setting up an output out of propresenter for full screen lyrics and scriptures using 2 line slides in the congregation and have the same slides display at the bottom of the screen on top of the video on the streaming feed in the atem mini Pro
I have a similar video explaining this setup but you would not be able to do both just with the atem mini pro. You would need something like OBS, vmix or some other additional switcher software to manipulate this type of workflow
For the DSK, would we need to run another presentation software with a black background if our current presentations uses a video background for the congregation? Or is there a way to use the DSK to allow one presentation with video background to be used for both the congregation as well as livestream? Currently we're doing picture-in-picture mode because our presentations have video backgrounds and we're unsure as to how to use the DSK so the text only shows on stream.
What presentation software are you using? Propresenter 7 allows you to run 2 separate outputs with different formatting that would work

After viewing many youtube videos on live streaming, especially for small churches, what is your perspective on pros & cons of using atem mini with or wihtout Software Video Mixer and Switcher (OBS, vMix, etc...)?
The atem by it self works great and software is not needed. The added software gives more features that are more user friendly or that do not exist with the atem alone like chat pop ups
how do I display the program view from the mutilview to the projector screens in the church without the entire multi view showing? I need the multi view for myself in the studio but don't want the congregation to see the mutliview. I 'm using hdmi to connect to the projector screens on the walls

@AJay, I saw a video where you spoke about Proclaim and the ATEM Mini Pro. My struggle is my live stream is all done in my chrome studio. It’s all green so all my cameras show green. In order to make my streaming work all three cameras need chroma keying. ATEMMini Pro only give one upstream key. There is a program called ATEM Plus Chroma Switcher by atem.satplus.cz , this works great. However it conflicts with my computer.
1. Is it possible for me to add both to the Elgato stream deck XL. If so can you guide me through the process. I have companion down loaded and H2R graphics.
2. As it relates to companion and H2R graphics, I followed your steps and I have my ATEM cameras on my stream deck. How can I add companion and H2R graphics. Is it through the OSC (generic) or can it be done through The Elgato stream deck. Could you please assist. The videos are good yet my challenge is my chroma studio..

If you are using vmix yes but if not, it is good to keep as some settings require a USB connection

Hi Ajay, how's your sound from the Mixer perfectly synced to the video from the AtemMiniPro? I didn't see you adding any delay.
I have not done a long stream with the mini pro yet to see if there is still a delay but I am also recording through the mini pro as well so maybe they fixed it for internal recording.
AJaytheCEO I always take audio from the board to a camera with xlr inputs... then take audio from that hdmi on the mini.. that way audio and video are in sync. You have to be sure your camera inputs can handle line level, and you want to make sure your camera isn’t clipping the signal.. but it solves the sync issue!
I live stream for my church using OBS. I use a separate monitor with a PowerPoint for scripture verses and OBS captures that screen as a source. Can I show or capture these verses in the same way with the Atem mini pro??
Technically you would just send your second screen to the ATEM instead of a physical monitor and then it would work by you selecting that input on the ATEM instead of screen capture.

No I do not. Only one
You can set up PP7 to do one screen for in chapel and one to do lower thirds. I think they call it “looks”
Hey AJ, I have a church setup that is driving me nuts. Not sure if I have a defect in my Atem or it's working as designed. I have two mixers; one for the loft/choir mics and one for the house mics. What I want to do is connect one mixer output (choir) to the mic 2 input on the Atem and the house mic mixer outpout to Mic 1 input on the Atem. What I'm finding is I can't mix the mic inputs. I can hear mic 1 but not mic 2. I know that both inputs are working bc I can move the input from mic 1 to 2 and the audio follows just fine. And it's not a cable issue, I've substituted and still have the problem. HELP?

Any advice on removing the "white noise" during the portion where you were playing the piano?
That was because of the computer audio being unmuted. We always get that because of the rca cable going into the sound system

I am using Proclaim. If I have the words as you showed on lower third for live stream, is there a way to put it full screen on our screens at church, or do we need proclaim on two different monitors...One for in church and one for online?

Yes but you would connect via the HDMI to connect to your projector and the the mini pro can stream out by itself

Yes you can but the Mini Pro will do all of the live streaming for you so the laptop will not be needed to actually live stream.
What brand/model is the monitor you are suing for the multiview? Are you going HDMI to USB C?
I am using a Samsung 24inch pc monitor and the model isS22F350FH and I am not sure about HDMI to USB c

I have used a background for my lower third from easy worship, but the back ground but the background is too transparent and i don't know how make it less transparent. I think I should said how to increase the opacity of the background and not reduce...

That sounds like a grounding issue. What type of cables are you using?

Well, our church issue is that we don't have an Ethernet yet. As it has been neglected sometime ago and because of the lock down. I am thinking of using an i5 computer with an extra monitor, buy an ATEM Mini Pro and a Mevo camera using Zoom as our live streaming platform. We are hesitant for further investment, as if we don't have a working Ethernet connection, we need to use a WIFI hotspot. So if that's the case, we might perhaps use a mobile phone for Zoom Connection and share the video to make the mobile phone a cohost. This will be changed if we can properly invest an i7 computer. Our church desktop for PowerPoint Presentation may be antique. So, we need to consider that. Do you think using an ATEM Mini Pro with an i5 lap top (or i7 desk top) with ethernet will work with Zoom. I have an i7 desktop, but bringing it to church every Sunday will be very funny and exhausted. Thank you and looking forward to hear from you soon.

Yes that is correct as this will show up as a capture device to your computer

We have just had a brand new stem mini pro system installed
It refused to accept channels 3 and 4 and if we add a hdmi from the computer it cuts the feed to the screens

you need to change the input on the ATEM to line instead of mic
I did. I can hear all mics, piano, guitars ... and hissing noise on the background. In this video you have the same kind of noise when you went to play piano

Hey AJ how can you stream to 2 different platform's at once without buying any other software?
There is a way that is somewhat technical by setting up your own server that does it, or you can user Restream which is free as long as you are not going to a public/business facebook page.

It is most likely the frame rate. Change that in your ATEM software to see what is supported

You mentioned DSLR cameras, but DSLR cameras show the boxes and icons within your recorded stream.
You need to have a DSLR that offers clean HDMI output
Question: I have an Atem Mini Pro. I am having an issue where I can't seem to get rid of whats on my camera's LCD screen when it goes through the ATem. Is there a setting I'm missing to get rid of what's on my Sony's LCD screen in the ATEM? I try to do it on my Sony Camera but I can't get rid of everything STB will always remain or battery. Now a capture card works to completely get rid of everything but I was hoping not to have get 3 or 4 capture cards to work the Atem. Is there a setting I'm missing on the Atem that will fix this? This will be done all in your cameras. What type of Sony are you using? Sounds like a clean HDMI output setting needs to be turned on
@@AJaytheCEO Thank you! It's a Sony FDR AX 100. Yeah the capture card takes care of it but the Atem doesn't. Clean HDMI output is a new term to me. I will check into it. Thank you!
How did you add Vimeo as a custom Platform? I only have Facebook, UA-cam, & Twitch as options.

Blessings. Is there a way you can setup Atem mini pro automatización? instead of hitting the on button for the sound to come on the live all the time. Just set it up so that it will start recording with sound automatically

You can't reprogram those buttons but you can make a macro to do that
This probably isn't the place, but here goes. Do you keep your ATEM Mini plugged in all the time? I had 2 units now that on initial setup work as expected. After leaving everything connected overnight the computer no longer recognizes the ATEM as a webcam via the usb-c out port. I tried connecting it to 3 different PCs and none of them recognized it. The first unit went back to Black Magic support and they were unable to fix it and sent a new one. They are now sending me a third unit. I want to do what I can to keep it functional. It seems like if it was a power surge that more than the usb-c out port would be affected. Any thoughts?
My atem is plugged into a smart switch which kills the power when not in use. So it acts like a power switch. I have not had any issues with it. I've done this same thing even with their bigger switchers since they have no power switch
@@AJaytheCEO Thanks for the reply. I so want this switcher to work as it will make the Zoom experience for our congregation much better. I am completely baffled as to what is happening and that it happened to two units.
@@motownk Sounds like a surge from the computer's USB or power going to the ATEM. You have everything connected to surge protectors right? If not, they should be.
@@AJaytheCEO yes two laptops, an hdmi splitter, a video camera, the ATEM mini pro and an external monitor are all plugged into a surge strip.
I also use ATEM Mini in my church. There’s a problem tho. Like you, I don’t use Blackmagic cameras to the ATEM Mini and the ATEM software won’t let you do color correction if your cameras aren’t Blackmagic. Without color correction my cameras look bad. I’ve tried using the OBS’ color correction, but the problem is OBS’ color correction read cameras that went through the ATEM as one input, so I can’t put different color correction for each camera. Do you have any suggestion for this issue? Thanks in advance

Confirm audio is routed to the output used to connect the cable to the ATEM. If you hear audio then confirm the ATEM is set to line and is on
We have the ATEM Blackmagic mini connected to our sound system (Sound Craft), but when the organ or any music plays, it sounds garbled. However, the voices come out fine. Can you please help me to correct this problem?

You probably have your mic set on mic and it needs to be changed to line in settings. That’s what the recording sounds like

Any work around to generate 2 output without costing too much?
USB out to OBS, with OBS connected to your desired display, HDMI out from the atem to your other desired display, get a streaming bridge and you can stream to it for another display but it will only display the exact same thing coming out of the USB. Anything other than that it will not work with this device.

Now that Atem mini pro is out , do you recommend using the mini pro to Livestream direct or connect it to the computer via USB and Livestream using a live streaming software i.e OBS, Vmix?
I use both but it could go either way. I do both depending on my situation

Hi Ajay, Love your videos very helpful. I have been having an issue with the ATEM mini at my church. I have a PTZ Optics camera connected with a 150 Foot sdi cable connected to a Black Magic Design Bi-Directional Mini Converter. I had picture coming through the sdi converter for 1 service and now it does not show up anymore I have not changed anything at all to the set up after that. Also checked my ATEM mini and OBS by connecting a chromecast to check for video input but it did not show any video at all only audio I unplugged the ATEM Mini from power to reboot it and still nothing. It gets extremely cold in my church up here in CT its over a 100 years old no insulation in the walls. Could this have caused a problem the devices as well? Should I try to get them replaced. Please Advise anything would help thank you God Bless.
Honestly, cold helps electronics normally but are you able to get video if you connect the converted hdmi into a tv?

@@markcordero8589 Make sure you update the firmware for the converter. Also try to isolate the issue. Can you get video from the HDMI out from the PTZ?
@@AJaytheCEO I have not tried that the camera is mounted upside down. I cam give that a try later today. Through rtmp in vlc I do get a camera feed and it does work. Also the sdi cable is brand new just came in yesterday. I updated the firmware for the mini converter when I got it a few weeks ago and made sure the ATEM Mini is up to date as well.

I have just purchased a Atem mini pro for our church. We have only a Wi-Fi nest system available to use at the location of our equipment. How can I use this with our mini pro?

how do you connect your to an indoor display while having all those connected to the atem mini pro.
You would just connect it to the HDMI out or the USB out to a computer and then have the computer out go to your display. If you use the HDMI out, you lose the ability to have the multiview though
