Funny thing about the score is that it's being composed by Frederik Wiedmann, who composed the previous Batman show, Beware the Batman, as well as several Batman and DC animated movies.
I'm liking the idea of a batman show set in his original era of the 1930s. Because I've long thought a lot of Batman's stuff doesn't fit modern styles. Batman's villains were originally created to be gimmicky, flashy and thematic. Fitting them into a modern mould of seriousness, grit, depth and complexity doesn't always work. With modern forensics and technology people could find out Batman's identity, perhaps easily. It would be much easier to conceal it in the 30s. And the Batsignal? It would alert Batman without leaving any way to trace it back to him. But only work at night and only if it's cloudy. These days it would make more sense to have an encrypted mobile phone. So the Batsignal makes more sense in a world without that kind of tech. But as for being one of the best Batman things ever, they'd have to beat the Lego Batman Movie. I'm also hoping the music in the trailer won't be the kind of music in the show, I think 40s music would be far more appropriate.
The fact that Matt Reeves (The director of the Batman 2022) is with the same creative team behind Batman The animated Series makes me more excited for this series and gives me a lot of faith that it's going to be good. I also love how the series takes place in 1940 and they're sticking with the original classic Batman design, which is really cool!
That's great news - I wasn't sure if it would be weekly releases or not, I'd much rather have it all at once, so that's excellent. Thanks for watching! :)
Trailer looks great and happy they are giving it a new spin. However I’d personally prefer they brought Batman beyond back and told new stories with new characters vs the same old Batman characters etc
I too would love to see more done with Batman Beyond in the future - I hope one day WB come to their senses and make a Batman Beyond Arkham game, which would be an excellent test for them to see how popular Batman Beyond as a film or another series would be (the answer is very of course!) - hopefully one day! Thanks for watching! :)
Aw, c'mere: a Batman show in a 1940's world with THIS kind of music?! Bad choice! A soundtrack rooted on Big Band jazz would be far more fitting - and cooler!
I’m quite happy with the way DC animation seems to be going. I think they really limited themselves by trying to do shared universes with the movies in the 2010s so getting a Superman and Batman show set in completely different universes is an exciting change.
Yes I definitely agree, moving away from shared universes makes a lot of sense as they can really start to vary the tone and animation styles etc., far more than in a shared universe. I'm excited for this show - looks very promising! Thanks for your comment and thank you for watching! :)
i hope you're right because im personally not as optimistic judging only from the trailer. Bruce Timm on his own is not enough to capture the greatness of BTAS. Too many people are absent to truly achieve that. I can tell by the trailer that the sense of operatic tragedy that made BTAS shine is gone. despite being a cartoon for kids the original had a tinge of sadness throughout that made it stand out, this new one seems to be a straight-forward crime / action cartoon
You do raise a good point there, part of what made BTAS particularly unique was its operatic darkness, despite being a "kids" show it dealt with a lot of complex and mature themes. That element also made it feel like such a good Batman interpretation as it balanced that character and his world's darkness and light very well. I'm hoping that this show will be able to deliver some of that depth and explore the tragic elements too. Historically speaking the 1940s was quite a dark time in history, so I'm hoping the show can lean into its context to deliver something fresh yet also familiar to the Batman mythos. I guess we'll find out on August 1st! Thanks for your comment, and thank you for watching!
I had no idea it was a music track from somewhere else! - I assumed it was a part of the new theme as sometimes trailers incorporate the movie's theme in the trailer music. Thank you for sharing that information - nevertheless, the music works very well for the trailer in my opinion, and perhaps it was chosen to reflect some of the show's OST. Thanks for sharing and for watching my video! :)
Let’s face it.. we are all so sick of the Joker… some of the villains here are sensational! Looks noir-ish, the Batmobile looks amazeballs and the look of it has TAS but with more suave brilliance!!
5:16 This statement is very much incorrect Joker largest amount of screen time in cartoons was BTAS and wasn't a regular on the show and appeared in selected episodes after that he appeared sometimes in The Batman and had a select few episodes in brave and the bold. He didn't even appear in beware the batman. The whole idea that media never tackles any of Batman's other villains is heavily misinformed because Joker is Batman arch nemesis which shouldn't be taken away from the character and the animated series proves that you can do Joker without him taking away from other villains because it has been time and time again.
Looks marvellous! I hoped they could have aged the look of the print like it was made 2 decades ago.. a little grain and dust… Can’t handle Batman animation with digital sharp pic quality…
Looks very promising. The only complaints I'm seeing are from the usual idiots still triggered that Harley is asian. I don't care either way, let's see if Timm's still got it.
Since they're drawing inspiration from the early Golden Age Batman I wonder if they will use the same martial arts golden age Batman use. He was stated to know and use boxing, Wrestling, Jujutsu, Judo and Karate. I also agree with not using Joker, I think he would be better to appear in the 2nd or 3rd season an since there is obvious golden age influence, the Joker of that time was not a crazy clown but a cold and sadistic criminal based on such fictional criminals as Professor Moriarty an Stephen Norton. While terrifying in his own way GA Joker has never gotten a proper animated appearance.
Thank you for sharing that information - I wasn't sure what martial arts golden age Batman was said to have studied - to my understanding in more recent eras it's meant to be all of them, but that selection would've made sense for the time, and definitely would have put him ahead of the average Gotham criminal. And yes, since this is supposed to be a multi-season thing, Joker can appear later on, which means we not only get a bit of a break from the character, but it gives them the potential to set that up. That sounds like an interesting interpretation for the Joker, given the golden age influences on this show already, hopefully if they do adapt Joker then that will end up being the route they go down. Thanks for your comment and for watching! - Apologies I'm so late in responding, I must've accidently missed this one whilst going through them originally!
I’ve always believed that the entire DCEU should have been strictly set between the 1920s and 50s. Outside of the crafted page, DC heroes do not belong in the modern world.
That would've been such a good idea - would've been another fantastic way for a shared DC universe on screen to differentiate itself from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Thanks for your comment, and thank you very much for watching! :)
I wanna see The Batman & The Joker bond with Symbiotes in a DC/Marvel crossover! The Symbiotes bridge the Multiversal gap between DC/Marvel. The Joker bonds with an original Symbiote & the only way that Batman can stop this Symbiote enhanced Joker, is to bond with a Symbiote himself.
@Caleb.P-et1qd What's wrong with No Joker? King did You see Beware the Bat? Really good animated show. But *Forgotten.* Was only missing One thing, The Joker. Because what's BatMan, without The Joker?
@Caleb.P-et1qd It does Matter, it's called sticking to the *Source Material.* And I got Zero problem with Asians. I love Bruce Lee, greatest Action Star of All Time, and Jackie Chan is up there too. Are You Mental? This PC shyt is Bullshyt. What if they remade one of Bruce Lee's movies and made Him white and crippled? Would that even make Sense?

I didn't know a new Batman show coming out? This looks sick.
Yes, this looks very promising, not too long to wait before it comes out either which is great!

I think they should have serious villians like Bane, Scarecrow, Two Face, and Falcone and Joker shows up in the finale of the first season

I’m not sold on the character with the bandanna being Clayface as all these videos keep saying. I believe it’s Jonah Hex.
I just hope they don’t steal Too many ideas from the 90s Batman show
Since it's in the 40's, imagine if he crossed path with Nic Cage's Spiderman Noir !
Just look at the team behind this one. Bruce Timm from the original BTAS and others. Don't look at Jar Jar Abrams.
It gave me anxiety since he did Star Wars so bad
Also involved in The Killing Joke movie.
@@zackdawgz8398 pretty much everything he touches. He ruined Star Trek too
