And/or he does treat Victor differently from the others in his gallery of rogues. Well... of the ones that have some type of nickname they often go by.

The ending was beautiful. That's why Mr. Freeze is my favorite villain. He's not inherently evil. He's just a man who is desperate to save the woman he loves, at any cost. His quest was destroying the good man he once was, which Nora reminded him about.
Nora: "Victor. This isn't you. I won't let you destroy yourself anymore. I wish I could've told you sooner."
Freeze: "I don't want you to die, Nora."
Nora: "Then let me live."
This kind of marital interaction was brilliantly written and so emotionally charged. It should've been a side mission for the base game instead of DLC.

You gotta love the mutual respect Batman and Mr. Freeze have for each other aside from the occasional fights every now and then. Batman knows that Mr. Freeze is a man of conviction, and Freeze feels the same about him.
thewb39 the fights in the comics are mostly the result Freeze’s need to steal diamonds in order to power his refrigerated suit!
He’s also unique in four ways; one, he’s not motivated by an inflated ego, or greed, or even revenge, but a need to save the live of the woman he cherishes most! Two, he has a history of stopping in his tracks on his own, upon the realization that Nora would never approve of the morally questionable turns he takes. Three, he’s known to assist Batman when he sees it to be the logical course of action. Finally, he’s the only Batman villain who’s made himself at home in Arkham!
This DLC is an emotional touch for me that teaches how helping family is good in the end. Plus Batman and Victor's interactions are actually strengthened by Mutual Cooperation which is a very good trait for Characters like these and the ending is like how you find your true love in life.
Joe Humpston Well, Freeze is greedy if you think about it. He’s stealing diamonds for his personal use to save only one person, sounds pretty greedy to me. But, if you think outside the box, once Freeze cures Nora maybe he can share the cure with other people who have the same disease as her.
Well Bruce Wayne/batman knows how it feels to lose someone you love and you can't do anything about it (his parents). He also knows that victor is deep down not a bad man at all. He knows that victor has gone crazy with emotion that he will do anything to help his dying wife. He knows that victor only does what he does to help his wife. Victor (and batman) also know that Nora would not be approving of victor's behavior and his actions. And batman has in the past used that guilt to his advantage.
DJ Fela they actually does kinda happen in one of the mr freeze stories. I can't remember the name of it. Nora dies and victor has lost all hope and the reason to live. Until batman talks him into finishing his cure anyways to help other people because they both know that deep down that's what Nora would've wanted victor to do. And while working on his cure almost finishing it freeze gets kidnapped by penguin (I think)
Am I the only one who thinks, when Nora's time game, Victor quietly removed himself from his suit and laid down beside her, the two of them passing away together?

Kevin Allen I think that’s how he wanted to go out. Smiling contently knowing he’d be with her in the afterlife as he slowly slipped away. His final moments are of bliss and serenity.
He did die with her. He said "We won't have much time". He said WE as in the both of them. He most definitely passed away with her. Even Batman said to Alfred "We won't be seeing them again". Batman knows Mr Freeze and her will die together. Probably the best ending to Mr Freeze's story, he deserves peace

Victor wanted to save her and she just wanted to live with him no matter how brief that time would be.
This is one of the saddest endings to a Batman story/mission. I love how Victor and Nora are finally back together, but it broke my heart to hear that she only had a few days to live.

Yeah Victor probably took his suit off to feel the touch and warmth of his wife in his last few days. At least him & Nora had a somewhat happy ending, usually Mr Freeze just gets done dirty in all batman media and we never get to see Nora speak or interact with Victor either
My personal idea of an epilogue for these two:
A short 9 days later, Nora's condition had fully deteriorated. Her breaths were painful, her limbs sore and her fever uncontrollable. Victor could tell the end was almost upon her. So, he deactivated his suit's biomatrix, the life support shutting off. As he pulled himself out of the mechanical suit he'd wrapped himself in for years, he felt the room around him scorch his skin. Even though it was only 60°F, it felt like a desert to him. Victor pulled himself onto Nora's bed and pulled her close.
"Victor, you-"
"I lost myself long ago. You're my world, Nora. Only you." He curled his hand around her's and the two shared an embrace.
About 54 hours later, police arrived due to an anonymous tip. They found the pair, holding each other together, a smile on both faces.
As the coroner began cataloging the bodies and various bits and pieces of the room, one of the officers moved to the bodies.
"I remember these guys from my old precinct. Shame he couldn't save her."
As the story was released to the press the following day, James Gordon looked over the article with his morning coffee.
"... in the end, Victor, I think you were a good man. Despite what you became, you were a good man."
The criminals in the city all had varying ideas of Victor and his end. Cobblepot thought him soft, Dent thought he was a man of fairness, Nigma thought nothing of him, and Quinn simply cried.
Through Gotham, snow began falling in the early November morning. Most joked it was a parting gift, a final cold embrace from the once Mr Freeze.

Mr Freeze was so flawlessly done in the Arkham games. Arkham City, Cold Cold Heart, and then this. The perfect trio.
This is literally the closest thing to a happy ending for Mr. Freeze and it's still sad and heart breaking. He can never get a break no matter what comic book, tv show, video game or universe he's in.
+MarvelandDC379 It's bittersweet. All Mr.Freeze wanted, was to be with Nora till the end, but she would die first. Trying throughout the game and being Mr. Freeze he became a villain. Doing what he could to have her cured, so that they could die together naturally. He, at the end, realized that the time they had left was all the time they needed together. He took off the suit, which will kill him, accepting this fate. For it was the one he wanted all along.

@@TheSimmus Seeing Ra's in that mission, I could understand why he stated that he was afraid of what would come back out of the pit in Arkham City. He has used it so long and so often that he actually seems to almost be starting to resemble Grundy in a sense. Even if one chooses the option to save him, can it be said that he will be able to rebuild the league even if he wins their civil war? He may very well tear the whole organization apart in his madness.
That aside, the story of Victor Freeze and Nora is such a tragedy. In the end more then a decade of work on his part was wasted and Nora was unwilling to let him destroy himself trying to save her. I suppose that once she dies, he will die too. She is his one reason for living. This is the end of their story and I am glad that Batman left them in peace. Goodbye Victor Freeze, Nora Freeze and for whatever it is worth I am sorry it had to end this way. Then again, I suppose a lot of things are coming to an end in this game so why not one more just to twist the knife in further. I guess that fits.

Hes my favorite too....hes far from a villain like the others but a tragic tale of someone with good intentions being denied what they wanted what they loved. So when its taken from them and are left changed in such a drastic way the only thing left is hate that stays. He already lost everything he loved so whats death to a man with nothing to gain but more pain. Sorry for the rhyming after watching the Mad Hatter video its got me doing it. XD
Seriously though, atleast this one kinda ends better then how Victor goes in Batman Beyond.

Man, the intricacies of this whole interaction were just amazing.
The entire mission from beginning to end was just heartbreaking. To see another man struggling as much, if not more, than Batman - to see these two men who were once enemies come to terms, to see Freeze stare down the barrel at Batman with pause and regret as Batman offers himself, only to lower his gun and beg for Bruce's help knowing Bruce will give it no matter what... and for Bruce, despite everything Victor has done and everything Bruce has faced that night, to still offer his help, and at the end see Victor and Nora off together on their final journey. Man...that was mindbogglingly sad and probably one of my favorite moments in this awesome game.

This and the Ra's al Ghul mission were the best in the DLC pack, and arguably the best missions in the game as a whole.
"I don't want you to die, Nora." "Then let me live." Literally the line that destroys me most. It's so emotional the way she delivers the line.. She's tired of being frozen. She just wants to spend her last days with the love of her life.. Really one of the most tragic Batman relationships. Another tragic one is Harvey's with his fiancée, Gilda. No happy endings for either pairs.
This mission definitely tugged at the heartstrings.

This was so emotional. You can see Victor's humanity so much in here. the last scene had me in tears 17:36 . She is sick but it's so nice to see her awake and with him
This DLC was amazing but too me it highlights how in the base game none of the villains were given a proper conclusion. If every villain in Arkham Knight had a conclusion like this it would be one of the best games ever made.

Well done Rocksteady. This is the most compelling ending to the Mister Freeze story that I have ever seen. There could simply be no happy ending for them. Looking at both of their states there was nothing that could be done. One can't live without his machine and the other doesn't have the cure to her disease. I applaud this brilliant conclusion to the Mister Freeze story arc in the Arkham games. Thank you for giving the best ending that could be given to a character like this. I appreciate it.
I'm glad Victor and Nora have finally been reunited after so long. In the ending scene when they finally left Gotham for good it really made me cry. Let's hope they live happily ever after until they both pass away at the same time.

I really felt that this was the conclusion that Mr. Freeze deserved. Most villains may not get a happily-ever-after, but Freeze got what he deserved: a happily-ever-after with the woman of his life. May Nora Friez rest in peace, and may Mr. Freeze become a better man for her.

GabeShadow666 He never turned off his suit. He just slid away the glass covering in order to speak more clearly to Nora. At least, that's what I think. Those days together will probably make Freeze into a better man. Maybe working with Robin to fight against crime in Gotham.
Uh, except Freeze needs the suit to live. Taking off the visor is basically the equivalent of removing your oxygen helmet while in deep space or underwater.
GabeShadow666 Not really. He's been clearly seen in the Arkhamverse to be able to survive prolonged periods outside his suit with special cryogenic chemicals. Considering that the visor is for protection against not only the elements that he can no longer feel, but also in combat, those glowing tubes running along his suit supply enough coolant chemicals to his body to keep it alive in the temperatures he was experiencing at the time this game takes place.
***** Except Mr. Freeze was suffering when he was stripped of his suit during City assuming he doesn't have the special coolant device inserted in his body. Very doubtful Arkhamverse Freeze would want to outlive Nora even if their reunion lasts for a few days.
The biggest surprise out of this entire DLC is the moment Nora wakes up. Talk about changing the pace of the story so unexpectedly. 11:58

Nora was put into cryostasis before she even knew who Batman was how the hell did she know him when she came out of cryostasis? I mean unless she overheard several conversations between her husband and Batman. It's just kind of confusing and I feel like it's a plot hole.
White Devil Rants I haven’t played Arkham Origins. Is that addressed in that game? Because Arkham Knight says she’s been frozen for a decade and I believe Bruce has been Batman for longer than that.

This story caught me off guard...I thought it was just a retrieval mission but when Nora woke up I knew this was gonna have me in tears and at the end...I was correct....Rocksteady really did the love between Nora and Victor justice....Victor is an antihero, only goal is to save someone he loves at all costs, no matter the consequence.
At first I was sad that there wasn’t another amazing Mr. Freeze fight like the one in Arkham City.
But then I remembered, Batman and Freeze’s story arc isn’t about them fighting, it’s about them cooperating. Though this mission is pretty short, I absolutely love it as a conclusion. A bittersweet end to Freeze’s story in the Arkhamverse.

A very, very emotional gameplay. In my point of view, Mr. Freeze never is a villain, he is a tragic character. He did all of these just for his wife and to save her. I feel that Batman understands Mr. Freeze's situation very well, and that's why he is somehow kind to Mr. Freeze. In the Arkham series Mr. Freeze and Poison Ivy (only in Arkham Knight) just show us how human they still are. It is super sad for me that Arkham series is going to end. I really enjoy all four games and the walkthrough by this wonderful channel. Probably the best Batman video games ever.
By the way, as Fries removes the protection from his helmet, does it mean he is going to die soon?
+Ka Kiu Chan I feel the same. Mr. Freeze is my second favourite villain in comics (only after Scarecrow) purely because I barely view him as a villain, and he is in no way evil. And yes, Freeze is going to die with Nora, without access to constant negative temperatures his body will shut down, it may even be painful for him; he describes room/hot temperature(s) as causing "searing pain all over" and that "every breath ignites his lungs" but that's the power of his love for Nora. He'll live through that to be with her.

Really loved this DLC considering how it was a Swan Song for all of the different Batman villains included. My only complaint was that none of the other villains got the treatment that these four did, and really should've. Anyways, great DLC, and is an amazing way to end an amazing francise.

+Colin Preston I actually would have liked to see how Ivy's life would have turned out had she lived. She is my most hated villain in the Batman series, apart from the Joker, but seeing how she sacrificed herself to save Gotham, she should have lived to the end, seen that Batman is Bruce Wayne, seen that he is truly legend. And have the strength to give up her vile life.
Out of the villains, I think I sympathize with Mister Freeze the most. I'm sorry Victor, I miss my loved one too.

This is one of my favorite missions from Arkham Knight and i admire Mr Freeze so much because he is not a villain and he only want to cure his wife . Maurice LaMarche did a fantastic voiceperformance as Mr Freeze and he is close to Michael Ansara from Batman TAS :)

I love that after all these years of trying to kill each other and helping each other out from time to time, they speak to one another so csusally. Batman even stopped calling him "Freeze" and just calls him Victor

This was good closure for the Mister Freeze story. Better than Sub Zero I think.

I would love to see a Mr. Freeze story in a future Batman movie. He's such a compelling antagonist, you can't help but root for him. With an ending like this in a feature film, the theaters would be flooded with tears....

the legend 69 I guess what you saw there was just one of the ice-sculptures of her that Freeze had in his lab! Although, the silhouette you see in her cryo-chamber, does resemble her in this game!

Johnny Rose Nora is dead anyway because he froze her for about 50 years and she asked 46 when he froze ger so she's dead
The point of freezing her is so that her condition doesn't progress. She isn't aging when frozen either.
when you are cryogenically frozen you do not age at all because you ageing process has been completely halted. Since Nora was however old she was when victor froze her, when she finally is freed from being frozen she is still however old she was at the start of being frozen and her aging process has been restarted. So you could be say 30 years old when you was cryogenically frozen and stayed frozen for I don't know say 300 years, when you are thawed out you are still 30 years old.

I love how the dynamic of Batman and freeze has evolved from the simple good guy, bad guy fight to both of them having mutual respect for the others work and trust in each others skill and talent

Bart Allen Don't get me wrong. I love that character and he has a lot of potential to be excellent. I was hoping an Arkham game would flesh him out and really delve into his brilliant mind. For some reason he was made into a glorified Trophy Award.
That was the entire point. Yes, he's brilliant. But his ego is what rules his mind, and it's what keeps him from REALLY becoming an actually threatening villain. Case in point, when you fight him for the last time, before Catwoman runs interference, you're cornered. You can't damage him as long as that force field is active, the field only comes down when all of the robots are out of commission, and you can't hit the robots because they'll shock you. Game, set, match. Thing is, Riddler only got to that point by basically saying "Screw my pride, I WANT HIM DEAD." and designing a trap that Batman wouldn't see until it's too late- one that's completely "unfair". They did flesh out his character- by deconstructing it.

@@FischerFilmStudio threatening him was something he could deal with.... in fact he had...but anything that threatened his research or Nora...then you were screwed. Remember...Freeze was never really overly antagonistic with batman ( freezing him only stalled him and Freeze knew this, he could've killed him any multitude of times, yes , yes plot armor and all , but Feeze doesn't know what the audience knows XD) who HAD threatened him. But upon the realization what was Freeze's motivation Batman became more sympathetic and willing to help Freeze if and when he could.
Yeah. Batman started sympathizing with Freeze in Origins after he knew the truth. Victor even said, "I have no quarrel with you."
I get that this is just a game, but my heart literally breaks for Victor and Nora. There are so many couples like this in real life. If you’re reading this, I wish you and the person you love a long, beautiful life together.
This was my favorite expansion mission. Victor Freeze has been through so much it was nice to see him and Nora together in the end
They used the same soundtrack in this one's cutscenes as in the Ace Chemicals destruction scene, which made the DLC much more amazing...

from Arkham city, to back to his origins and now this awesome ending to this Mr.Freeze trilogy of some sorts
Of all the versions of Mr. Freeze, this is probably the best one, right behind the animated series version of him. Like in Batman the animated series, he was just a man trying to save his wife's life, not just becoming a villain for the hell of it. Then, in Arkham City, he was blackmailed by Joker, only to be stripped of everything by Hugo Strange and given to the Penguin for show.
He then made an Alliance with his arch enemy, Batman, attempted to black main him to get his wife, which Batman did any way out of the sheer goodness of his heart, and now has to ask Batman to save her again, but now she wants to live what little life she with Victor, and Victor is willing to die with her. That's some of the most emotional storytelling in any Batman medium. I'm gonna miss Rocksteady's style of story telling.
So Nora going to die in a couple of days? That really sad

Gotta say, that ending...
also, did anyone notice how Batman is portrayed as more ... human as the games went on?? (even though he is still acts in his distant and intimidating look)
in Arkham Asylum, even though he knows and studies his enemies, he acted way too calm, way too .... perfect. like nothing ever surprises the guy or ever hurt him (even in AC he was like this ... kinda)
But in Origins, and especially in AK, he still managed to retain his intimidating look but managed to be protrayed more ...human, more 'just-as-fragile-and-human-just-like-the rest-of-us' instead of being too perfect but still a clear badass
that way, Batman really did feel like he pushed himself to be where he is instead of just being TOO prepared for anything.
That ending is gotta be the most sad but beautiful ending in the DLC
Can we take a moment to appreciate how beautiful Nora is?

Honestly, I am really glad that Freeze isn't a boss. We have fought him twice and have ended up helping him in the end on both occasions. Great story.
He never stopped loving his wife , even at the end.

There's many things that make the interactions between Batman and Mr. Freeze compelling, but the score is at the heart of all them. Such a beautiful listen.
