my god, i never realized how much equipment you need to film a simple car scene................................
You don’t really need that much a lot of the time but if you want a certain shot, probably like Quentin did, you do.
B C S often you need even way more... (especially if it's a chase or multiple cars are seen)
less is more
You dont NEED that much at all.. but this is a major Hollywood production with tons of union guys and major Hollywood stars involved which means TONS of regulations they have to follow for safety such as " Brad Pitt wont actually drive the car." And also in this particular scene.. the camera placement to get the desired angle that QT wanted required rigging the camera to the car to get that shot outside of Brads window looking in and then also the back and forth through the front window.
1991 QT wouldve grabbed his DP and a camera, hopped in the back seat and got takes from the back seat looking over the shoulder.. which isn't bad.. I believe the typical idea behind a shot-reverse shot from the back seat is that it puts the audience in the position as another passenger just sitting in the backseat listening in on the convo..
With all that said.. knowing this movie well.. and also knowing that QT had tons of money budget wise, he didnt HAVE to make any sacrifices and film from the back seat.. he was able to use as much rigging, crew and time that he needed because thats what comes with having 8 previous (now 9) successful movies all in a row and being one of the best Directors of all time.. So it really just comes down to your budget and schedule. A first time filmmaker may not have this luxury and WILL have to resort to a shot-reverse shot from the back seat.. and thats totally okay! Many great backseat car sequences. Seven used the backseat alot.. and also had Brad Pitt in it as well, lol.. They also got shots from all sides just like here BUT David Fincher really did a good job utilizing the back seat shots in that last act in Seven.
@@drewharry88 damn that’s a pretty thorough reply. Appreciate the info
People see a bare foot inside the car. Oh my God its a Tarantino movie.
Good. Feet are nice
Much better than a car in a studio in front of a green screen
Yeah dude
down vote because that mindset is the problem.
@Erik definitely. The 60s style back drops were terrible but I’m wondering how Brad keeps a straight face with everyone gathered round peering in at him 😳
QT = Mr. Detail. His work pays off. Love his movies.
I got into his movies a few years ago and fell in love with his style! Pulp Fiction is awesome and Kill Bill and Django and soooooo stylised. I didn’t Vive with Once Upon though due to the setting and plot. Definitely want to see a Kill Bill 3
Michael Madsen’s Cadillac from Reservoir Dogs.
'66 Coupe De Ville. I had a '66 De Ville and the engine had that same chugging sound. The car was 19 feet, 8 inches long and the manual rated the mileage at 9 mpg.
I have a '66 Thunderbird that I bought in 1995. The engine makes that same chugging sound too.
The master doin his thang!
I really love this feature film and enjoy seeing all of the featurette documentaries, the making of clips, the outtakes, everything. Just a fascinating film that really is quite a masterpiece and serves as such a good reminder of what a visionary filmmaker Tarantino is. Bravo!
Being on a set is so exciting. I don't mind the "hurry up and wait".
I have always wondered why in movies cars have the turning circle of a truck.
Now i know why.
1:02 Foot alert!!! xD xD
Looooool
It's Quentin...
XD
Thank you ❤️
i can't wait to see this film 0:29
Brad looks great. Margaret is beautiful just like her mom.
That single foot on the windshield is hilarious
Crazy how much crew and equipment is needed for a driving scene.
There is equally Robert Richardson the cinematographer of the movie at 01:39.
This was outside my house Perl’s of living in LA lol
What really ?
Woooooooowww, brad 😍
Dude I was driving the Red 1969 Camero where is my cameo? Come on I waved at you... :)
The cop is a really tough guy
Wait so they were not on the highway
"This scene needs MORE FEET !"
*everyone on set facepalms*
they work hard for the money
They work hard because they re paid milions and milions
@@omarinheiropopeye yep
I've saw a few movie scenes get made. It seems like the most uninspired and pointless thing you can ever watch. It's not until it gets to the edit room were something is actually created.
I wish James Gandolfini and Jack Nicholson in this movie ; (
..burt reynolds was set to be in it,, RIP burt
james williams yeah ;(
I hear Jack might have a cameo in this
The movie sucks
And tommy wisaeu
Real cinematic movie because of FILM CINEMATOGRAPHY not Digicam
David Lynch loves digital cameras, the main point is how u use them and your aesthetics, nothing wrong with digital or cgi, the lack of creativity and taste was a big problem in the past just like now.
@@gabrielegagliardi3956 yeah nothing wrong with digital.its good for tv series and documentary.but for real cinema film is unbeatable.just watch video clip of Lawrence of Arabia, can you give me digital movies can mimic that?lol even the 1939 film gone with the winds have rich thick pucture than latest arri
@@SuperSy99 sure, technicolor is great. The conformist, suspiria, lawrence of Arabia, Vertigo etcetc, I love all of them. But take something like blade runner 2049, digital gives you the opportunity to create something different, something new. Analog photography took a lot of years to fully develop, cgi is something relatively new, if someone doesn't experiment in that field you can't obtain better result in the future. The lack of taste is the biggest problem with cgi, do.u consider the digital effects in blade runner cheap? Ps: I hate all that superheroes cgi bullshit
@@gabrielegagliardi3956 compare blade runner 2049 to original blade runner yeah its hd but its still look anemic.film is punchy, crisp.digital have over blown briteness if shot outdoor.only advantage of digital is ease of production, cgi and night shot.I just watched Phantom Thread omg the land scape of Ireland, its was shot in film.its like every frame is piece of art.i not fan of super heroes too.i rather watch 90s movies because of many real car chase .real explosion.
@@SuperSy99 once again, compare the lawnmower man (1992) with blade runner (2017). In 25 years cgi made giant steps, probably in other 25 years a 15 years old kid will recreate the cinematography of Lawrence of Arabia using his personal computer. CGI is still evolving, technicolor reached its limit. Art evolves, actually CGI is like melies' voyage to the moon, in 50 years we'll have something as groundbreaking as Fellini or Wells but in virtual reality. I love technicolor and to me it's still the best but CGI has a long road ahead.
There is a cop in the trunk
What street in LA?
Burbank Blvd and Brighton St
of course this video got qualley's character's feet in this video. tarantino's weird ass would approve 😅
Jeffery Epstein would not have asked her for an ID? ......suicide, yeah, I believe that one
Lot work to make movies
He had to get some good shots of that girls feet. Sicko. Lol
*so is she 18 now? 🤣*
So much dilly dally shoot the scene
It takes a lot of "dilly dally" to make the scene look good.
Celwood1989 not that much too much staff waste of time
@@ALUA-camRZ i adore how much of a fool you are
So many useless Karens around, it's a wonder they get anything done. I wonder if they lay down the law before starting filming that Karens need to keep their opinions to themselves.
Lotta work for a gratuitous foot shot.
Ahhhhhh the magic of movies 🤮
Wtf it's wrong with this movie?all the scenes they are showing us,is Brad my idol Pitt always as a driver...he must be the starring or boss in This movie, not a fu.:.ing driver.
He's 2nd lead and a stunt driver in the film
Yeah like he was 2nd in interview with the vampire, with Tom cruise, and brad overshadowed Tom Cruise...
@@hugotaboada3373 I'm sure his part will be great in this too. The whole cast is amazing and I can't wait to see this movie!
Another overrated Tarantino movie
