tbf to towers the curse at alton manor has a really old ride system. you cant expect it to be magically fixed after a few months. it had alot of downtime as duel
True, it did have a lot of downtime as duel but considering the retheme and advertising we expected the ride system to be the first thing to fix. What good are the effects and theming if the ride system doesn't work? Hopefully they sort it out
Apparently the reason for the downtime is more due to effects mis-timing or not working at all and since its the opening year of the refurb with all the hype and marketing they poured into it, they want to ensure that first time riders get at least a near perfect experience. Imo they should just let it run like they did with Duel. The ride doesn't get that big of a queue anyway since its a continuous ride system, so if effects dont appear to work people will just reride it again anyway. Constantly closing the ride down to rework effect timings etc will cause the ride to have a really bad reputation.
100% agreed. Even if your experience isn't perfect, its better than letting people down or giving the ride a bad reputation. Each ride on a dark ride is different every time but they really need to work on the reliability of this ride though.
Omg hahaha! Yea, I was on the first train (Friday 31 March 2023), completed the circuit, got out of the exit tunnel, then the announcement happened! "The Curse is experiencing technical difficulties, and has ceased operation", for over 30 minutes!!!!!! I'm sorry, think I might be jinxed, same thing happened with Stealth on Thorpe Park opening day! Also, I subscribed to your channel. You're welcome.
Absolutely agree, It may truly be cursed! We've not stopped hearing of the "technical difficulties" since opening day. It's crazy. Thanks for the support! 😎🎢
The operations at Alton towers last year where absolutely terrible and disgusting. I hope they soon change if it’s already like this just this far into the year😡. Great vlog by the way lol
Nightmare isn’t it. We got stuck in a 2 hour queue for the curse on opening day because of technical issues, and witnessed it close loads since. Super unreliable. Great video 🤩
@@mmh447 Well the only other suspect thing I could see from the place I was standing in the queue was a paramedic going in the back 😂 talk of the queue was technical difficulties but I admit, I dug no further 😂
@@HushHushFamily The first delay of the day was film crew. Then you had john wardley come out the door and have a chat. After that it was running smoothly from what I could tell
The ride system is very old and not always reliable but to brake down twice and people come from very far away just to experience this is just not good enough

I've never heard of a new ride being so unreliable. It's crazy. Hopefully we'll get on it during another visit. Thanks for the support 😎
