As a Brit watching your vlogs of our parks it's hilarious, but also nice that you enjoy the rides even though some are a little tame by USA standards. Alton towers: The only park with literal eldrtich horrors, evil ministries who want to control you, drops into oblivion where you never come out, a dead girl in the woods, a cursed manor and then there is octonauts. All in one park!

Galactica, the flying coaster was the actual prototype that was taken out of the B&M factory and brought to Alton towers, so not only have you now ridden the prototype dive coaster (oblivion) but you have also done the prototype B&M flying coaster too! :)

I wish more parks did the track pieces and coaster memorabilia like the corkscrew, that's so cool. CEBEEBEE'S WHAT THE F--- LMAO. the harness in the "steal his look" made me HOLLER. I also don't know how long you've been doing the audio from the watch with the POV merge because it is so normal feeling now, but its so inventive and I love the immersion. Its great work.

I just wanna say, I absolutely agree with the love for the Smiler. Just the theming alone makes for a great concept outside of the coaster.
Also fun fact, Spinball Whizzer used to be themed to Sonic the Hedgehog. Hence the color scheme.
I pretty much grew up there. My mother is from Stoke on Trent so I grew up going there from when it was mostly gardens and the first rollercoaster with 2 upside downers - The Corkscrew. I’m so happy to see they’ve put it at the entrance (it used to be bright yellow)… the Nemesis is my fave along with Rita Queen of Speed… it’s a beautiful park alongside being a kick ass coaster park.. you can’t see Alton Towers until are literally on top of it as no ride is allowed to be taller than the tree line…. Which is why they dig into the ground (see Oblivion)…

Great video man! Recently went on an east cost theme park road trip in the US so it's cool to see how the other experience is. Just a brutal shame you missed out on both the legendary B&M inverts here and at Thorpe Park. They are iconic, particularly Nemesis at AT. Hope you had a sick time
As a British citizen, I just first started watching your videos and just enjoy this park very much :D
Also oblivion used to lean straight down and stay for 8 seconds and then fall but now it's older its not able to
The coasters at Alton Towers are particularly ingeneous in design because of the planning restrictions on the park. The whole estate is protected & one of the big restrictions is that they’re not allowed to build above the tree line. This is why Oblivion goes into a tunnel, they literally couldn’t build it any higher. Similar with The Smiler, they can’t build it high so they put a shit ton of inversions in it instead.
I love alton towers, used to some here all the time with school (there are always schools here) and a couple times with my family. Rode oblivion 4 times when i was 9, but was terrified of air and nemesis because they went upside down. Went on enterprise not realising it went upside down later on and got over the fear. Will also never forget the time i was almost thrown off the wicker man twice lmao, i never hold on on rides and was by myself on a seat for two and was sliding everywhere

I can recommend staying on site at the Alton Towers Hotel. There’s 2 but I prefer this one to Splash Landings.
There’s also a water park available which is great.
The lifts are epic with lights and sound effects. They showed films on a HUGE projector screen in the evening so parents can chillax a bit in the bar area… you should see some of the themed family rooms, they’re fab. And there’s a Spa (bliss, had a massage). They also have a CBeebies themed hotel for those with young kids.
They now have woodland cabins etc. so many options and it makes a 2 day park stay so much more flexible and useful.
watching to psych myself up to go on the smiler!. One thing I'm thinking, the staff, they have to listen to that music ALL DAY 😂 They must hear it in their sleep. The shirt and pants are pyjamas!

@@3rinaxLeafI was more scared of it before I went on it I used to be terrified of coasters but smiler is great and not at all scary just loopy 😇 definitely seen kids on the ride too. It’s the build up and nervousness before that’s the worst but once you get on it it’s great fun and you’ll want to go on it again and again (as long as you aren’t too dizzy that is haha)

the park stays open until 9pm so you can go on the rides in the dark, and they have scare attractions and mazes, it’s a really fun experience

I went here yesterday!! I went on every ride and they were SOOO GOOD
If you ever come back to the UK around November, go to the Alton Towers Bonfire Night display, they have the best firework show, you will ever see in your life, they are also open until 9pm and you can ride all the rides in the dark!! Also the wicker man is fucking amazing at night, it's all lit up with fire and everything and it feels 10x faster in the dark. Also the smiler at night is amazing!! Been on Galactica in the dark too! But the Wickerman becomes the best ride there in the dark. It's a whole other experience and with the theming, it's 10x better then the other rides in the dark. Trust me on this! The firework display will be one of the best things you ever experience, it's out of this world. It's always on the closet weekend to November 5th :)

this is my local park! at the start of the video when you were showing the journey, you drove through a street in my town, chances are you probably drove past my house too because my street is one of the main roads people use to get there!

Oblivion is short yeah, but cost more then the Smiler due to the tunnel. Id love for them to add an inversion but never gonna happen. Also the drops like 180ft but the rides only 60ft tall XD
