Kilkenny … I love it ! I’m in Waterford City , Ireland , right next to Kilkenny , give Waterford a shout out, it’s the oldest city in Ireland, dating back to Viking times .
We look forward to returning. I'm gonna try and stop everywhere I have a viewer. We just watched a movie filmed in Carlingsford, love to visit there as well.
I’m finally getting the leak’s fixed in mine that the guys left. The steering wheel locked up months ago, so it’s just been sitting & the battery is completely dead now 😢. Time to clean her up & find her a new home. I’m moving back to Florida for a short time to finish my Airstream & then onward to San Diego to live on a houseboat. A lot of things need to go my way & fall into place, so wish me luck 🍀. I’ll be in Spring Hill. We’re are you? I’d love to grab a cup of coffee or a beer while I’m there.
@@MomentofZed Damnit man! That’s a 2 hour drive, but I have a friend in Clermont that I’ll be visiting. It looks like it’s in the middle. Idk if you’d be interested in meeting up there. My friend is a great guy. He’s one of the smartest most interesting people I’ve ever met. He’s an attorney & he lives on the water with kayaks & paddle boards. We could hang & enjoy a day reminiscing about Z3’s. I’m really sad I couldn’t finish fixing her up, but I ran out of money 😔 I’ll def send a pic & a story to you when I get her all cleaned up again. I’m proud of what I did, but I’m going to lose my ass because I couldn’t finish after spending $7000 😭
@@MomentofZed I’m leaving here at the end if November, so a few weeks later. My Airstream has been in storage for 5 years 😬 We’ll plan a day one weekend & you should definitely bring your lovely other half. I’d love to do a podcast about the potential pitfalls of buying a 25 year old BMW. You’ve always provided me with inspiration, but when the rubber meets the road, it can be as painful as it can be joyful. I’d like to share my experience with your viewers, so people can understand that these cars, although “the most beautiful car in the world” can bankrupt you if you’re not prepared for all the repairs you’re potentially facing. I had a dream id restore this car back to new & gift it to my son because he bought a unibody car at age 16 that had been jury rigged & was unsafe for him to drive, so i gave it away after he worked for months paying for it while working his first job at Publix. He never even got to drive the car, so i attached a great deal if emotional energy to thus car & I feel a huge sense if lose. I’m overly emotional tonight & far too expressive for anybody, but it’s time to give uo on that dream, accept the loss & move in.
As always, many thanks for another very informative video. How many miles on your Z? What made you decide to replace the shocks, how did you decide to make the change? Were there symptoms of problems? Thank you! 👍😎
123k. Bounces in back like crazy, shock mounts rattle being two main symptoms. Ill take her out next week after the work and give a comment on the new feel. Thank you Walter!
No height adjustment on these. I havent changed my ride height nor switched to coilovers, so tbh i would do some research on other sites who have done it.
When I replaced my rear shocks I bought the kit sold by FCP Euro front and rear shocks and springs. The shocks in the kit are Bilstein and the springs are Eibach. The Eibach springs in the kit are about 1.5-2” shorter than the stock/factory BMW springs on the rear. My Z sits a little lower in the back end now.
@@MomentofZed yes, I’m a diy’er myself and the rear shocks and springs were not a problem for me. I removed my old fronts struts and I had a local shop install the new springs and top hats on the new front strut assemblies. I didn’t want to mess with a spring compressor myself. I then reinstalled the new front strut assemblies.

@@GreenWitch1 i understand and listening to the story of the car ive been waiting for some good news, but I think you're making the right decision.
P.S. Forgot -- Are you also planning to do something with the front suspension?
Yes! Fronts shot.
Part 1, after I watched part 2. 😊👍
Appreciate it!
7:45 had me chuckling 😂 great video as always!
Thanks! Appreciate it!
Very interesting. Waiting for the next video. 🙂
Great Video again! Thanks for that.

Is there a way to adjust the height on these? If not is there a set of adjustable shocks or coilovers you recommend?
