Thanks for your support, John Ryan my producer also produced the track in the movie it was only a demo but producer of the movie said the demo will do .When John played me the track i said yes to recording it ,it was bullet of the week on Capital Radio 1986. I still have the Your the Best song & the FEEL THE NIGHT songs stuck inmy head on replay since I first seen this movie...and that was in the early 80s when I first seen it...Holy moly, that puts a time stamp on my forehead! ha ha

try to make it last, nothing you can do, in a photograph, the innocence you thought you’d lost is staring back at you. wo-ooh.. young hearts beat fast, driving down the road. rubber, plastic, metal, gl*ss. why did you have to go? young hearts die young, when they are all alone and there is no turning back now. there is no turning back. there is no turning back. knowing where you’re bound, it’s coming in to you. then you turn around, the innocence you thought you’d lost is now caught up to you. oooh, oooh, oooh.. young hearts beat fast, driving down the road. rubber, plastic, metal, gl*ss. why did you have to go? young hearts die young, when they are all alone and there is no turning back now. oooh, oooh, oooh.. young hearts beat fast, driving down the road. rubber, plastic, metal, gl*ss. why did you have to go? young hearts die young, when they are all alone and there is no turning back now. time enough to live, never time to die. all you had to give, taken by the one you loved and given to a lie. why? young hearts beat fast, driving down the road. rubber, plastic, metal, gl*ss. why did you have to go? young hearts die young, when they are all alone and there is no turning back now. wa-ha-hau.. young hearts beat fast, driving down the road. rubber, plastic, metal, gl*ss. why did you have to go? young hearts die young, when they are all alone and there is no turning back now. wa-ha-hau.. young hearts beat fast, driving down the road. rubber, plastic, metal, gl*ss. why did you have to go? young hearts die young, when they are all alone and there is no turning back now. wa-ha-hau.. young hearts beat fast
Patrick, you absolutely killed it! Amazing cover to such an underappreciated song. Every several months, I randomly do a UA-cam search for a cover to this song and finally, a pleasant surprise. Well done!! - Nostalgic, Lifelong Karate Kid Fan
+Kourosh Safavi Hi Kourosh, thank you for your comment, I'm very touched that you're at the end of your search and like my cover of the song. I recorded it back in 1986 with Tembo Records at the time. Bit of background on the track for you, guitars and solo were played by Hal Lindes (ex Dire Straits) bass guitar by Derek Holt (Climax Blues Band) and keyboards by Adrian Lee (Mike & The Mechanics) At the time I was under the stage name of Jonathan Gregg now I use my real name Patrick J Gregg. If you're interested the track is available in vinyl form from this site www.discogs.com/Jonathan-Gregg-Young-Hearts/release/5090128 Kind Regards Patrick J Gregg p.s check out The Glorious 800th and When I Am King (30 second audio previews on my channel) and for sale on amazon and iTunes the Official Theme for Magna Carta celebrations which I've written and sung.
+Patrick J Gregg Wow, 1986? I assumed this was recent but it's even cooler that you did it back then! Thank you for the background info. Sounds you like you had some very talented people around you. I love Dire Straits but have never heard of Mike & The Mechanics. I'll have to check them out. Thank you for the vinyl link! I think I'll be purchasing that soon. I have to ask, what made you want to cover "Young Hearts" by Commuter? Not many people know the song these days. I was born in '84 and love it because I am a huge 80's/Karate Kid fan. Was it a lot more popular at the time you did the cover? I'd love to know the background on why you chose that song. Thank you again!
+Kourosh Safavi John Ryan the producer on my album at the time played Young Hearts to me because he was involved in the making of the demo which ended up as a track in the film. I liked the song and John recommended I cover it so we did. The song was written by Dave Merenda. My version of Young Hearts was Bullet of The Week on Capital Radio, London in 1986

the original blows this one out of the water y'all are Trippin! where's the smooth keyboard part the awesome guitar parts all he did was speed the track up a tad it sounds like crap and it got no Bass! I think I'm going to go Jam the original now
Danielson: Can I tell my mom when?Miyagi: After.Danielson: After what?Miyagi: After AFTER! The original song is better yes..The entire original movie sound track was the best of all the movies including the latest version! I miss the 80s..The music was best then...1963 ----1988 !
