Thank you again for another great lesson light ,blasting of shaop air thru the carb to move the old liquids I have always been curious about that now I know it woiks!
I thought for sure it was a crank. Great air gun you have there. I just parted out a GCV160 that had almost 5/8 of an inch of wobble. If I make the video the comments will go nuts as in -> You should have fixed it. Even the angled lower sump had minute cracks.
I thought it was too! I think a lot of folks don't realize it's not just the cranks, but the gaskets, the seals, possibly the bearings. It can turn into a big job. Cheers Mr Bruce!
We got a new toro with Honda motor lawnmower. Used twice turned off gas. The next time I got to use it nothing. Brand new. So I bought a new carb and boom works. I think I got a bad card in the first place.
Great video, I always learn something watching your videos. If there’s any gas in a machine that’s been sitting for a few months without running I always run that tank dry to make sure all the “old” gas is gone, even if it seems to run fine. I don’t want it continuing to circulate throughout the season
Great tip, thanks! Have you ever used K100 fuel additive? Never had any issues with water in the gas, use it in all my Honda mowers, generators and Echo trimmers. Nice fix! 👍👍
I have a TB240 with the GCV160 that runs perfectly but smokes like a freight train actually burns oil faster than it goes through a tank of fuel....What are your thoughts ???
Stella it is the OLD MAN at Eliminator Performance again just saying that is sure is funny how many wives ruin lawnmowers. As a matter of fact there must not be a man in the country that cuts grass anymore because all of our customers say the same thing it was the wife. Sometimes it is i loaned it to my neighbour or my son put the 10w30 in the fuel tank. Loved it keep er going eh!
Thanks for sharing.. Hope you are starting to get work in the entertainment sector. Nice to Mow Happy but being Stage Struck has got be more lucrative. Break a leg Stella.
Sounds like fuel is leaking past the needle valve seat, filling the combustion chamber, and pouring out through the exhaust valve. pull the plug, let it dry out. I'd be taking the carb apart to clean and inspect. If it's a Honda, I have several carb service videos in my Honda playlist: ua-cam.com/play/PLscwXOlCLzlyrhoxlz91YLrsoRZZQSaKu.html Hope this helps.
How does water get in the gas can what is the flywheel key do or where is it located and what is that mixture that you put in to start it what is the thing that you said about something being in the correct position it was in the correct position
Some people store gas cans outside and the rain water gets in the cans. Some gas stations have tank problems also so you pay $4.899 for H2O. Good diagnosis tips on the crank and carb.
Thanks Stella. It’s amazing that the crankshaft wasn’t bent, being that the blade looked like it hit the same rock a few times! Smart idea using a coach hanger a a visual reference. Have a good week. Rick

Good job, Stella! We like these easy ones! Love that fancy crosshair crankshaft tool! Perfect timing while I wait for some JBWeld to set on an old Ryobi 725r string trimmer throttle trigger which I just happened to notice had a tiny crack. Also did my first ever immediate correction of a carb gasket leak by first locating it with a pressure/vac test and then tightening up the fasteners just a smidge. Holding pressure and vacuum perfectly now. Fingers crossed I can now successfully finish tuning it and give a fully restored machine back to a happy customer. 👍🔧🧰

I have, and probably added some to this tank. I think it does a good job of emulsifying small amounts of water. Cheers!

That blade looked ugly. I presume you took it off and tried to sharpen it. Or did you have to replace it?
Indeed it was awfully dinged up. It sharpened up nicely. Cheers!
I probably would have checked the flywheel key as well but it looks like it is running great .
Those Honda flywheels are a pain to remove. I think it was not a large rock really. Cheers!
Dump gas cans and flush them is best to avoid problems
Thanks Mama
I agree!
Great tip with the hanger. cheers

When the alcohol evaporates from the ethanol, what's left is water. Flywheel key sets the ignition timing. I put in fresh ethanol-free fuel.

I think this guy just showed up at the petrol station just as the tanker truck pulled away. That, and a gas can stored in a damp basement.
