    Liang Jingkun is No 6 racket in the World now. When you see how many mistakes this first class player makes against Hou Yingchao you realise what kind of crazy spin variaton he has to deal with. Amazing!

    Some years ago, Hou Y.C. did much more backhand smashes / forehand attacks than nowadays. But his vast experience can teach the youngsters in Chinese national team some techniques they rarely encounter at such world class level.

    LJK cannot handle Hou's variety of spins. Good to see two choppers (Hou and Ma Te) in the Chinese National Championship semi-finals. Though Ma Long, Xu Xin or Fan Zhendong are not competing, it is still a huge achievement for the 37 year old Hou.

    I really love to watch how Hou outsmarts these young players and their lack of patience in the game. They ARE god, really god... but not god enough to just run over Hou as they would like. Which they get more and more aware of, the longer the match continues... And also... Hou seems to be in a marvellous shape, and he plays with great confidence....

    I thought choppers were going extinct? At least that’s what the tv commentators have the audience believe. Honestly, I see that Hou has mastery of both defense and attacking styles, it’s obvious that he has more practice vs attacking players than LJK practicing vs defending players. LBJ has mastered the attack vs attack game, but not the attack vs defense vs attack again vs defense again, it’s too much skills to master, Hou has lots of skills and patience, he has continually perfected his game, it’s his artwork and it’s great he is shar8ng it with the world, lol

    Once again we see that 39 is not retired age in table tennis. You have chances to win highest world class trophies at age of 39 if you want. Hou Yingchao once again confirmed that. Great efforts, great performance of the veteran. And interesting table tennis in this final match. A lot of it is because of the new LIGHTWEIGHT DHS balls, which is a little more lightweight than other usual heavyweight balls. Lightweight balls fly slowly because of air resistance, so that ball speeds are in range of possible human reaction. There for players can react and can applies various techniques in games. Hou Yingchao of course plays well, but these lightweight balls give him chance and give more interesting table tennis. Congratulation to Hou Yingchao, and beautiful table tennis.
    Japanese heavyweight balls, for example Nittaky balls, leaded table tennis to action contest, very bored and poor techniques, not game show. You should stop buy old heavyweight balls. ITTF must officially announce the new official ball weight , for example ball weight 2grams. The current ball weight 2.7grams is so heavyweight.

    Why do people "STILL" apologize for hitting the ball into the net and it going over most of the time winning the point. I mean it is widely know that the person didn't mean to win the point that way. Also, would the opponent get mad if the player didn't apologize for doing so? That is all.

    • @phantn
      @phantn 5 років тому

      It's courtesy. When you hit, and the ball hits the opponent's body, you say "Sorry". When you are walking on the streets, sometimes, you brush someone walking next to you. Of course, you don't mean that, but you still say "Sorry!".

If you take the best offensive against the best defensive, offensive always wins in modern TT. Defensive style cannot control the rally but only follows.

    At the 04:56, Hou blocked a ball from Liang, the ball just dropped on the table of Hou's side, and he looked at his own racquet, and wondered what the heck happened to his rubber. And he has been using THAT rubber (dodgy) against other players for SO MANY year, and happy to see THAT DODGY rubber destroyed many players, who had much higher table tennis skills than he did. Such a wimp player, who uses dodgy (pimple) rubber to cheat to much better players.
