The last trick was interesting. I always travel with only the personal item, but I still can have a bum bag under the jacket and some stuff tied to the backpack. You can use some carabiners on the backpack for extra stuff. You could use a reusable collapsible smaller backpack or grocery shopping bag for the extra clothes.
All amazing ideas! Thank you for sharing. I did end up doing the grocery bag thing half way through the trip.
As long as it fits in that TSA box you are golden!
I've used the airport shopping bag trick too. It really works ! 😂
Lets hope they don't find out about it! lol
Nice collection of videos! As an expat who travels quite often personal item only (most recently to Romania last month), I did wonder how you'd fit all that stuff into such a small space (and would have liked to actually see that part). Happy I stayed til the end to see the handbag trick 😂
Thank you! If I do it again I'll be sure to show the final product!
That's a neat trick, thanks for sharing it ❤
Very much enjoyed your video - thank you for sharing.
Thank you for being here!
Love your personality! great video :) thank you for those tips!
Great travel ideas! We'll be traveling to Europe in the summer
Such an inspiring video! One day I’ll be traveling with just a personal item too 😊 You have beautiful energy by the way!
Yasssss that end of video tip is awesome
haha thanks!
So glad there was a nice surprise at the end of the video 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
A treat for watching till the end lol
That's the same backpack I'm planning on using for a week trip. You have given me hope I can fit everything!
100% you can!
I usually buy from a little shop in the airport and use that bag to sneak on a couple extra things, plus i usually have my camera and bulkiest lens around my neck, and maybe even a larger powerbank in my pocket. It's a bit of faff, especially if its hot inside and you're wearing layers for a winter trip to save on space running through an airport to make your flight - but it saves a fair bit when you add a few trips a year up!
Love the purse choke out HA! I use a waste pack that is a nicer material for my daily purse. Since it's attached to me it's kind of part of my outfit and also blends in with my backpack a bit, but it's also around my side so it looks like a belt when I board.
If I do a trip like this again that may be what I do.
I found that I could attach my sling to the side of my backpack in a way that it looked like all one bag. Avoided the chokeout maneuver, but only if you don’t mind switching to a sling vs a purse.
Love your scarf! Could I ask where you got it? I watched your clothing video and I did not see you say it there.
Like the video but would have preferred to see you fit all that in the backpack - I guess I'm skeptical - those toiletries and pouches were not small.
Your handbag is adorable, where did you get it?
My question is, if you have to wear your extra clothes on the plane because it does not fit into the backpack, that would mean every day you would have to wear multiple clothing to get it to the next destination. Where do you put it when you are on the move? Thanks!
This is true, I didn't anticipate being on as many flights in such a short period as I was, I originally intended to wear the full outfit every time I flew. What ended up happening is I would wear the white shirt, denim jacket and scarf on the plane and then put it in a shopping bag under the seat in front of me once seated. Plane and car were the only way I did large movements (country to country) durning the trip so the shopping bag worked well. I ended up needing every article of clothing I brought for one reason or another so it worked out really well.
yes.. I found that annoying too. When I went to Switzerland and it was 10c on landing all ok ... but travelling via train to Austria and Italy it got progressively warmer so that by take off from Venice it was 35 c .. I bought a very lightweight backpack in Austria that was packable and could carry the extra clothes and I used as grocery bag when staying in place for a bit .. When flying from Venice I wore the extra clothes through security then once through took out bag and compression packed the extra clothes into the backpack ... then stuck that backpack into an airport shopping bag ...
@@recentisland1513 Haha the things we do because of travel. Love it!
Unfortunately this is great if you have a base but I dont.. very interesting tips
😊
Thanks for the ideas. Please explain why United doesn't let you past the gate. That is the airline I get stuck with a lot because it is the sole provider to my town. Thanks!
Im so sorry, but I am not entirely sure what you are asking here. Can you clarify? I'll do my best to help out!
@@JenniferLynnLife Were you stopped for a too-large under seat bag on a United flight?
@@leslieannehill6880 I don't believe I took a single United flight this trip. But I do take Fronter often and rarely get stopped. This trip (in the video) I took over 19 flights in 3 weeks and didn't get stopped once.
Lol Thanks 💖💖💖
Thanks for watching!
Good job. What are you taking? How does it fit? I realize you said it was in another video, but it would be nice to include all in one video. Thank you very much :-)
Next time I will include more, promise!
@@JenniferLynnLife thanks!
The last tip is lowkey kinda smart, not gunna lie :)
Haha thanks! I ended up not needing to put the strap on my neck but rather across my chest and covered the strap with my scarf. Worked flawlessly.
I feel cheated that you never showed that mass of stuff ACTUALLY fitting into that tiny jansport backpack. I watched all the videos showing what you brought, but not a single one showed the bag packed. I have doubts, lol.
You are not the only one, I feel so bad so many of you feel slighted. I promise it did all fit (with no room to spare). I did end up giving my top layer I was intending to wear on the plane to my hubby so I guess I cheated just slightly lol. I also ended up only packing 1 swimsuit.. not 2.
Can you take a backpack and a purse on a plan?
Typically yes if you do the trick I mentioned in the video.
Have you ever thought of packing the handbag in the backpack first, then filling it with pouches, clothes?
No, but that's a really good idea!
I’ll just pay extra! I would feel uncomfortable trying to bring extra stuff hoping they don’t notice. 😅
I hope when I am older I don't have to play the cheap game anymore haha!
I like your clever tip at the end. I like all of your ideas except don’t want to wear a bunch of layers and travel with clothes tied around my waist and to my bag on the flight. I would just take less and make it work.
Brand-new subscriber here. Thanks for this helpful content. 😊🧳💺 Yes to multiple scarves! Always part of my packed items... 😊
Welcome! Thanks for being here.
I literally laugh 😂😂😂
I need to know if that worked lol
so.. what exactly she bring? other than those tips?
Peep the videos in the description box to find out
You didn't show what the bag looked like packed
I know, Im sorry but next time I promise I will! It was pretty full, I will say that.
You can bring 2 bags actually. The backpack can be your carry on and the purse can be your personal item. You don’t have to hide the purse cause you’re allowed to have 2 not unless you have a separate small luggage besides your backpack and the purse which was not mentioned in the video.
Nope, no small additional luggage but I found what you are saying to only be true on 1/2 of the flights I took. I fly reallllly cheap haha.
🚨 **Please do not hang your purse around your neck as demonstrated at the end of this video. It is very UNSAFE!!**
It puts you at risk of serious injury. Look up laryngeal rupture. It is a serious and often fatal injury.
Why not just take a suitcase?
I am more mobile this way plus I save a lot of money. I went on over 15 flights and 3 train rides in a 3 week period of time.
Dang...you lost me when you said you would not be packing minimally (aka utilitarian). That is the simplest way to pack. No worry if something matches something else. To each his own. :(
