Great design! I use this to exercise with the aim of reducing my resting heart rate (also to be fitter / get tired less). Definitely one of the more safer options! Only other thing I use to exercise (other than walking) are dumbbells (less than 10kg). Other equipment tested (at puregym): Exercise bike - It is really uncomfortable. 20 minutes of using and my butt hurts (takes a week to recover). Stepper - Hurts my legs using this for longer than 1 minute. Also, not comfortable (not a great way to increase heart rate either). Treadmill - I don't want to risk falling and getting seriously hurt using this. I kind of wish somebody decided to build something indoors (even something simple, like a giant gazebo, would suffice) where people just run around in a track. Why? Because the weather (rain) won't affect people this way and people can get exercise running without the dangers of a treadmill and it's more natural running on the ground. Tired? They just need to get off the track and rest on the floor. The main issue with this is obviously the large amount of space required. It would probably need to be built at a park / a section of a large park.
