I was chatting with a couple of cool random dudes in the park today and got to talking about Osprey backpacks. One of them had one and showed me the whistle that's embedded in the sternum strap. Very cool and as Johnny Carson used to say, "I did not know that."

That's a Paracord whistle buckle, which also came on my Camelbak H.A.W.G. NV. The problem now for me is that one of the male prongs is broken, while the left side female is sewn in, and neither Paracord nor anyone else makes right (male) to left (female) buckles anymore, let alone with a hole big enough for whistling (Paracord's is now a useless sliver).
