My husband grew up with Jimmy Fisher (his dad invented the NASA pen) and he passed them out to all his friends. My husband first showed it to me 20 years ago....it still writes, in all directions.

Naked man saga: He knows she's there watching across the way. It's hard not to notice her gleaming red hair. He chuckles as she tries to hide behind her computer, but she's not fast enough. He will return tomorrow, hoping she is there, watching him and give her an extra flex of his bicep. Perhaps he will kiss his plant knowing how much she loves hers.

As a microbiologist (vaccines belong to my field of study) I use the first one on anti-vaxxers so much! I got tired of actually explaining everything in details all the time

The problem with your position is that it over-generalizes the reasons why many ARE "anti-vaxxers". And, I'd challenge, you may even lump true anti-vaxxers in the same bunch as anti-mandate. They're two very different positions. I found the chemical composition of an apple "example" to be basically a dishonest challenge to those suspicious of a vaccine. You can legitimately have a solution full of neutral or beneficial ingredients but have just ONE that's lethal. Or, in the case of religious objectors, if one (or more) ingredients comes from a source counter to their faith, then it's not a science issue at all. For the record, I got the initial dual-shot because my job required it. Prior to that, the last shots of any kind I got were while I was in the Air Force (again, had to) which was 1990. I happen to simply trust my immune system to work as designed. I am 100% against a mandate. So, resist being pompous or using lame trick questions. Bring a fair and credible case and actually LISTEN to the concerns of nay-sayers. I actually believe MORE people would be getting vaccinated had we not been so stupidly heavy-handed.
A vaccine is a wanted poster shown to your immune system.
@@Awol991 Sort of. But as we're seeing with the latest coronavirus, if it's a bad drawing, it doesn't do as much good. Also, an actual infection is also a wanted poster. In addition, the FACT of this virus--as with most--is that the overwhelming majority of us have immune systems well-capable of handling the "wanted criminal". The lesson that should have been clear from the beginning was that almost everyone will get a visit, and if you even suspect you won't be able to adequately repel the boarder, take precautions and get vaccinated.

@Me Smith That's an interesting question! Personally, I've never really experienced/witnessed this myself and for that I'm grateful, as I wouldn't have much patience for that kind of nonsense.
I'm a zoologist (technically my speciality is wildlife forensics) and therefore most of my peers/colleagues over years of study and work have been biologists of some sort. When it comes to biology (and part of the reason I love it) all the evidence you need is right there in front of you, whether it's evolutionary biology or microbiology or ecology, it is observable and, for the most part, logical. So there's really not much wiggle room for religious theory. Also, I grew up and studied in the UK, where religion doesn't tend to stray much in to the realm of scientific academia, thankfully it pretty much stays in its lane.
I do, however, have a best friend who was on the same course as me at undergrad (she's now a parasitologist) who comes from a Irish Catholic family and went to an all girls Catholic Grammar School and I've asked her how she reconciles her religious background and her scientific career. The way she sees it, she can't deny that evolutionary theory is correct and she doesn't believe in creationism, she believes in the Big Bang theory (no, not the show).........But, as she can't rationalise how that came about or what was there before (if there even was a "before", physics is neither of our strong points) she still can't completely deny the possibility that there is a God and this is where she keeps space for her faith. To be completely honest though, we've been travelling/out on field research trips together and the ONLY time I've ever seen her pray was on an extremely turbulent domestic flight in Brazil, so I know she's not that devout. Lol.

Your story about your navy buddy cracked me up! Definitely sounds a lot like my Catholic friend lol. What was your job in the navy? Also, I had the good fortune of living in Sydney for a year and it's now my favourite place in the world, so any story mentioning Sydney makes me smile.

We are scientists and my husband loses his mind over Flat Earthers, and I find it funny. The issue with a flat Earth is, it does not matter. You want to believe Earth is flat, fine... now what? What exactly do you plan to do differently? Are you going to start flying, walk off the edge or what? If so, proving the Earth to be flat, should not preclude you from doing any of that right now. The laws of physics do not require your proof, they will exist even if you do not know why or have the formula. Meaning, anything you may do on a flat Earth would be possible right now, regardless of your being able to prove the Earth is indeed flat, so just do it now. Get your revenge on everyone as you walk off the edge into oblivion. There is literally no value to the average person in a flat Earth. It would only be of use to the very people already in charge of monitoring Earth, who have already accept that Earth is a sphere, and operate as such. No Flat Earther owns a satellite, space shuttle, space station or even has a recognised/supported degree in astrophysics which could determine what to do next. Fine Earth is a scutoid... hyperboloid or Möbius Strip... now let's go with that for those who do not think a sphere is fancy enough... it still will not change anything about your daily relationships with the planet... I'm sorry, Apollonian Gasket with bio-organisms and an atmosphere. You will still be right here living on or in it until you make that leap off the "edge".
The husband and I watched a show on flat Earth, I was yelling at the TV constantly and laughing my ass off when the Flat Earthers themselves proved the Earth was round THREE TIMES while try to prove it was flat. Their pause then "oh well we must have done something wrong" was hysterical. It boggles my mind how stupid these people are!! Some people can't be wrong no matter how moronic their stance is...🙄

Flat earthers, anti vaxers and Conspiracy Theorist are popping up like daisies and pissing in the shallow end of our gene pool.

I saw a documentary once that explained that. According to the documentary, Flat Earthers aren't insisting the Earth is flat merely to say "Told ya so!"
They argue that, if the world is flat with a dome covering it, it would be proof that there is a Creator God. Nothing else could account for such a configuration.
More and more people every year are leaving the Church and espouse atheism to the delight of "The Powers That Be", who run the planet and worship Satan.
So they have a vested interest in ridiculing and dismissing those who wish others to know the Earth was designed by a Creator God as written in the Christian Bible.
I'm always amazed at how quickly some people get on board of conspiracy theories with literally no evidence...when scientists can explain like this.

Km from California and the smoking laws are pretty tight it is so nice to not have to walk through clouds of smoke or eat in a restaurant with smokers and then we moved to texas I feel like everyone smokes here and I hate it the 1 thing I miss most about California
@@krisb5695 Arkansas and most if not all places it's illegal to smoke or vape in buildings. You think you can in a few bars or clubs but even then most have areas well vented for them. I don't smoke so I really don't pay attention, however all restaurant I've been to it is illegal to smoke within 50ft.

As a son of a scientist I grew up with a healthy skepticism of simple answers used for “gotcha” purposes. The actual reasons things happen is often more nuanced and interesting than the popular myths. Good job with the video, Charlotte! I’m always happy to find an entertaining UA-cam channel host that isn’t a conspiracy believer, so many are.

I am a paraeducator and i spend about an hour and a half a day in a science classroom. Lately, we’ve been talking about earth history, the universe, the life cycle of stars, and other space related things. It’s absolutely fascinating. Knowing all of existence as we know it started as the same thing, we really are all made of stardust, there was once life on Mars and it can give us clues about the future of Earth, light waves create color, GAH I COULD GO ON FOREVER!! Sometimes I think I should have studied physics in college.
It depends on what you call a conspiracy theory, as we allowed to question even if the questions are silly, we should still question them, if its about operation Paperclip, a true event, the Tuskagee Syphillic Experiment, and so on. SO are you saying daring to question is wrong. isnt that what science is testing, questioning. there have been other scientist like lysenko in russia, who stated this is fact and millions died of starvation, and anyone who dared to question were sent to camps and executed..

When I was in school in the 70's we were taught Celsius and the metric system for one semester. I kept saying to my teacher "This makes so much more sense, why is America so stupid?" 😂😂
We were also told that the US would be converting to metrics.

Dawn Margeson in the UK we have a weird situation. It has been evolving away from Imperial for quite some time but we still have not quite managed it. We still have miles and yards on our roads, and in shops it was only within the last decade or so that pounds and ounces have been ditched in favour of kg and g.
In school we often use metric when learning science/maths, yet at the doctors weight is still measured in stone, and height in feet/inches.
It is confusing to say the least! Lol
I now live in a country where their use of the metric system is ubiquitous.
Yep and in the same time period I can remember telling my teacher that it would never happen as America was too lazy and stubborn to switch to it.
They found that the switch over to metric would be too expensive to cover just road signs alone, so they chose not to go ahead with the plan. Putting money in the pockets of the 1% was and is the government’s priority.

Best example: my ex husband didn't know the science behind tampons. One day my mom put a box in the cart at Wal-Mart, and my ex asked what they were for. While I stood there dumbfounded, MY YOUNGER BROTHER EXPLAINED HOW TO USE THEM! My ex husbands face got sooooooooooooo red!!! It was hilarious!!!!

Angstrong units? I don't know where that came from, some half-remembered physics lesson, I think. It always drove me nuts to see these complicated formulae where they didn't explain all of the terms because t was always time. Erm, what about P1V1=P2T2? Well, t is always temperature. I am such a nerd I loved this video so much. Honestly I'm still confused how flat earthers are a thing now and that it's actually been gaining momentum. I genuinely can't wrap my brain around how anyone would completely believe a planet is a flat surface I just really struggle with that one

I know that shirtless men in high places can be distracting. Years ago I was driving my car to the store with my family. On the right of us was a section of stores in the process of being built, and a number of the workmen on the roof, were shirtless. There was a girl (sort of) driving her car from the oncoming direction, and she was clearly taking in the view of the shirtless workers. She veered into my lane and hit my car, doing a few thousand dollars worth of damage. So as long as you're not driving, its OK to look at the semi-naked men.
So... Uhh... Is it okay to look at women who have their shoulders/cleavage/thighs/whatever attractive part exposed too?

I was in a medically induced coma for over a week after a cerebral aneurysm and it cost $5,000.00 every time my neurologist stepped into my room. The whole episode cost us almost a million dollars with our insurance. I’m not sure the bill will even be paid off in my lifetime. 😒

Susan Fudge I’m from an academic family as well. Doctors ( even ones who studied at Harvard) are limited in their scope of knowledge, as are all academics and everyone else. A single example of one medical professional being anti-vaccination does not mean much of anything. I am sure you and your husband are smart and highly educated. That does not mean you are right.

Anyone with a medical science degree who is trained in Family Medicine, knows that the entirety of the anti-vaccine movement hinges on one paper published by a (former) Dr Wakefield in 1991 - a paper which was so debunked that the good doctor lost his license to practice medicine in the UK, and the Lancet - the scientific journal which first published the paper, withdrew the paper and apologized publicly for letting a completely fraudulant research paper make it into their journal.
The anti-vax movement has no scientific basis.

I'm very close to my cousin - we grew up together. He's a doctor who works for Health Canada, confirming that the claims drug manufacturers make on their labels have published scientific evidence backing them up.
