Fun Facts: Alastor, in life, was a radio host as well as a southern serial killer that lived in New Orleans, Louisiana. He died in 1933 after being mistakenly shot by hunters who thought he was a deer as he was getting rid of one of his latest victims. He is a Deer Demon as far as species go which is evident due to his antlers and deer prints on the bottom of his shoes. He has an extreme hate for dogs which might have to do with his death. He is also asexual.
Angel Dust, in life, was born into a crime family and died in 1947 due to a drug overdose of PCP. He is a Spider Demon, explaining his multiple arms and venomous bite and is a gay pornstar but has still had sex with women. His boss, Valentino, sexually abuses him and mistreats him regularly which causes him to be very gated to people. That's the reason why he only truly trusts his pet pig, Fat Nuggets, and his best friend, Cherri Bomb who help keep him happy in Hell. Vivziepop, in a livestream, confirmed that his actual name is Anthony.
Vaggie died in 2014 and her cause of death is unknown but some theories say that she might have been killed in a hate crime since she is a lesbian. She is Charlie's girlfriend and is Salvadorian which is why she asked Angel when he told her "Don't get your taco in a twist baby" if he was being "sexist or racist". She is a Moth Demon and Vivziepop has said she took moth inspiration to create Vaggie's design and she is very skilled with sharp objects as well as hand-to-hand combat.
Charlie was born in Hell to her father, Lucifer Magne and her mother, Lilith Magne which makes her Princess of Hell. She is Vaggie's girlfriend and is bisexual which is why Katie Killjoy said to her "she doesn't touch the gays". She can conjure up fire as one of her abilities is pyrokinesis. She is very cheerful and loves to perform musical performances and make others happy.
Cherri Bomb died in the 1980's and is a radical anarchist as well as Angel Dust's bestfriend. She is originally Australian but her accent only slips in sometimes and she is a One-Eyed Demon. She is speculated to have been killed in a turf war or by gang violence and she loves bombs and explosions.

@@clawsby6964 My thoughts on the jokes is that it's the thing where it really isn't too funny after the first viewing (the jokes at least). But it's still a decent idea and the animation/att style alone is worth rewatching.
It's not that the jokes sucked it's more of the pacing and timing of the jokes. Make it an issue just due to the fact that some sex jokes go above the punchline, i mean the whole "Daddy" scene should have been cut out and probably rewritten to make more adjusted. Since the "son" part just felt out of line

•The cleanse thing is when Angels come down to erase some of the population due to the overpopulation issue.
•Erase/(I think it means dying in general as well) means your existence is basically wiped.

A bit of background info, that is considered canon:
- Charlie is the daughter of Lucifer Magne and Lilith Magne. Unlike the other demons in the show she didnt land in hell for sins but was born there and just happened to grow into a compassionate person - the reason why she tries to end the yearly cleanse of demon souls imposed on them by angels with their heavenly weapons (the only means, by which a demon can be killed). As other commentors have already mentioned she is in a relationship with Vaggie and also bi-sexual.
- Angel Dust was born into a New York crime family in life. He died in 1947 following an overdose of the drug PCP which is the reason for his name.
- Alastor was a radio host and serial killer in Louisiana in life. He died in 1933.
- Husk fought in the Vietnam war.
- Sir Pentious was a Victorian era super-villain. He was and remains to be a genius when it comes to building and operating machines.
Background info that isn't officially confirmed and subject to speculation:
- Vaggie is Salvatorian and died in 2014 (canon). Her death is speculated to be the result of a hate crime against her because of her homosexuality.
- Niffty is speculated to have died of an illness at a young age, resulting in her being very concerned about cleanliness. Her dying at a young age is also probably the reason she mistook Angel Dust for a woman, since she probably never learned about crossdressing etc.
- Tom Trench is speculated to have been a soldier in WW I. His last name is an allusion to the trench wars where he probably met his end to a mustard gas attack.
More specifically sir pentious died in 1888 in a blizzard.
And nifty died in her 20's in the 1950's.

So just a short for you that are curious about the ins and outs of this show/Helluva Boss and where it comes from:
-Charlie (The main character, the blonde with pale skin and the super rosy cheeks) is the daughter of Lilith and Lucifer, who are the queen and king of hell, respectively. Her full name is Charlotte Magne. In theory, if she embraced her full potential she would be more powerful than either her father or mother, but has enough self-control to not allow herself to reach those extremities.
-Lucifer is a fallen archangel, who due to his past overwhelming angelic powers, far outscales any demon that exists. He was cast to Hell because of his pride, which he is known for as a Demon King.
-Lilith is a succubus queen, obviously you can infer that she has powers over lust that are unimaginable to any demon that exists (I would assume).
-Alastor in the series is a demon that was killed in life in the 1930's, and loved to listen to the radio, and in Hell is known for being one of the most powerful of the demon overlords. Now in demonology, Alastor is the demon of Vengeance. Known to be cruel to exceptional extremities, even by Hellish standards. In demonology, Alastor posses the abilities to unleash waves of unstoppable onslaughts, such to a degree that even the 7 demon kings of sin (Satan (Wrath), Lucifer (Pride), Beelzebub (Gluttony), Leviathan (Envy), Mammon (Greed), Belphegor (Sloth), Asmodeus (Lust)) try not to piss him off, even though they can defeat him, Alastor can become too much hassle for what it's worth.
-Vox is the name of the TV looking demon overlord. Valentino is the name of the demon with the heart-shaped glasses and the red colored stereotypical pimp attire. Velvet is the female demon that has two hair colors, and the white/black tea-length dress. Vox has the power to manipulate electricity. Valentino has brutal abilities with lust related emotions. Interestingly enough, little is really known about Velvet currently.

Edit: just in case some folks don't know the difference between asexual and aromantic. Being asexual means that in a romantic relationship you don't have sexual attraction towards your partner while being aromantic just mean you don't want to be in a romantic relationship at all! And keep in mind that there are different kind of aces. Some people on the ace spectrum will have sex with a person they grow extremely attached to, or have a deep emotional bond with, those aces are called Demisexuals. But people never find out if they're Demi after they have made that deep attachment/bond with the right person.
