Never use an impact gun to loosen or tighten the locking wheel nut. They are so easy to strip.

My arm has a torque wrench built-in except for Head Bolts and Flywheel bolts and some wheel bearing hubs. As this vid maybe for beginners then aleast they cant snap nothing by torquing everything. Great vids by the way

What is your background in the trade? You have a good all round knowledge of different makes…top man for being mobile, I can’t bear working outside on cars!

BMW and Mini, lots of training including hybrid and electric, lots of AllData, lots of Haynes and also some UA-cam 😂.
To be honest with you, all cars work the same; just different layout. Once you know how one works, it pretty much applies on all… so I say 💀😂

Depending which side I just take the bottom or top calliper carrier bolt out and push the carrier bracket up out the way. Also using power tools could snap the bolts and if you are a DIYer there is nothing worst than snapping a bolt!
Also you forgot to say use the break pedal first to clear the air then put the CAP back on before you drive please!!

I notice yoy always do more than one click when using torque wrench. Torque wrench manufacturer norbar, only recommends one click, as additional torque is being applied with each click. Love your videos and wish I was young wnough to be doing this again. Much more complicated now. Particularly impressed withyour diagnostic skills 👏

I find it easier to use an old brake pad and c clamp on the piston

I have found it a lot easier to the brake pads in the calliper bracket first then put the calliper bracket on the hub as make it less fiddly

Clear and to the point, great tutorial👌🏽 Only thing I would've added is sometimes it's a good idea to wrap a rag around the neck of the brake fluid reservoir, in case any fluid spills out the top as you push the caliper back in - obviously only valid when the fluid level is already high prior to pushing the piston back in.

Always mate. This one was low anyway so I didn't bother. I actually had to top it up after I was done with the job

Eric O South Main Auto says grease on the pad ears actually atracts grime and dust , thus not having the desired effect, he just puts grease under the hardware, what are your thought on this theory? Enjoy your videos 👍👍

Well to be honest with you, different mechanics have different takes on this. People apply them, some don’t. Just your preference really.
OEM companies (not mentioning their names as I’m not allowed 😅) develop this type of grease specifically to be applied on the lobes of the brake pads; so it must be because it’s meant to be applied… right?
Who knows, there’s a massive debate in our community about it 😂

Great video pal but should use brake cleaner just to clean away any contaminants especially on the new discs as they are treated to stop them rusting over time in storage 😁

Not with the ones with GEOMET coatings, you don’t have to. Even says on the manual not to as it can affect the coating that they have applied to it.
      Edit:
GEOMET coating is what prevents them from rusting over time in storage. It also helps the pads and discs to break in to each other much quicker
