WE FINALLY DID IT!!! // TESTING DURBAN'S BEST BUNNY CHOWS
Вставка

- If you haven't tried these three stellar Bunny Chows you need to reassess your priorities because any Durbanite will tell you, that this is something that the Durban culinary scene can really boast about.
Jokes aside, our time spent with our cuzzie Sheldon, sharing these Bunny Chow's, was an afternoon very well spent and something that we will all happily do again at a moments notice.
Gounden's, Curry Os and Capsicum at Britania Hotel can all be proud of the bean bunny's that they produce. We were extremely chuffed with all three, aad although we named Gouden's king of the Bunny Chow' on this occasion, you really can't go wrong with any of these masterful mouthfuls!!!

I visited SA in 2008 and immediately after arriving at a Mcdonald's in Pietermaritzburg, there was a Bunny Chow restaurant. I THOUGHT IT WAS MADE OUT OF RABBIT MEAT. Didn't know that they ate rabbits in South Africa. My SA companion nearly died of laughter. He took me to a bunny chow place later... AWESOME
This is how you chow a bunny for all those who don’t know
Britannia for the win. If you wanted Beans you should of tried Patels in town.
The poor man's food. Best meal on a budget back in the seventies. You guys seem a cool bunch, but looking at the prices on the board my eyes nearly popped out. I could not believe what I was seeing. That is super, super, super expensive, what has happened to the value of the Rand, shit!!!!!!!!!!!!! Average, R85.00 for a quarter bunny chow, man, that is bad. Just fifteen years ago you paid for a half loaf plus inside R12.00 . Things have really gone overboard. The good thing about your video is you made my mouth water. Greetings from Thailand.
Things have certainly become so expensive in SA! Luckily the bean bunnies are still affordable. I think the ones we tried were all R45 and under BUT you can still find a decent bean bunny in Durban for R20! Golden Treats makes delicious bunny chows and they're super affordable. We made a video there too but we had a plate of mixed curries.
Awesome video tour well Curry Os is our favourite at Moseley. Aunty Ranjini not shy with the gravy. But enjoyed Capsicum excellent experience. Still to try Goundens
Besides the filming, you should also give commentary on the food, what is in it, why you chose that particular one, the curry heat, etc
I did not realize that you did it at the end 🙈
I spent five months travelling around Africa and was itching to try bunny chow but never ever saw one. Think I was cursed.
The last time I had a half bunny was in April 1999 at the Blue Lagoon takeaway. Cost I think was around R10 to R12. Could not believe the R85 for a 1/4 bunny. Nice video. Cheers.
Brittania had me weeping with delight about 3 weeks ago.
Belter bunny!!!!!!!!
Starting with Goundans? But that just sets an unreasonably high bar for the others. You end with Goundans because nothing else will be as good.
Good. Not best.
Watching you guys attacking your bunny chow brings back memories. Growing up in Durban we ate bunnies all the time. Four or five of us eating a whole loaf. Moved to Cape Town 24 years ago and there are no real bunny chow places here. The put freshly fried chips in a quarter hollowed bread and call it a bunny chow. I do make my own at least once a month. There are some Pakistani places that sell it but it is no match to what you get in Durban. Thanks for the video.
Must try Orientals Durban North
Sheldon boet, call me and I'll tell u where's the best bunny, its your indian friend that you give alot of work to
To be honest the best I've had is Hollywood.
Goundens ... good, but takeaway packaging needs improving. Sit down as well, they should move to a better location.
Brittania is my favourite
Cool live in Durban gr8 food
❤️
😂these guy's eating the bunny and rate these outlets as the best because it's liquor friendly...but the best mutton curry bunny chow is from the Muslim outlet's... just a little different...
Why you guys didn't have Mutton though🤐
Hi Shonell. We're vegan which is why we always go for the bean bunnies and sometimes a spot will have a veg bunny which we might give a try, but we loovvveeee bean bunnies. 😀
@@biancaivanovic-vandenberg1310 Hehe I understand 🙈.I guess being a hindu,I opt for the meat version as I only usually eat veg if I am fasting lol.But enjoy the beans on my behalf,I will tackle the mutton🤣. Blessed be kind soul😇🖤🔥

What happend guys? Mutton too expensive?😂😂
Too much 👊🏼😂

Try Medleys Kitchen for Durban Curries in Randburg
Next time Oder half and half beans and mutton 2gether it's awsome
Guys Joburg boy here, and we also have awesome bunnies
Of course you do🙄
But they were invented in Durban.
@@jen9774 This does not mean JHB does not have seriously awesome bunnies.
@@zonechillout no-one is saying you don't... You probably do... Probably.
Had someone from Venda argue with me about how I don't know what I am talking about by saying nowhere in South Africa can compare with the Quality of spice in Durban or the atchar..😒
The girl in the back has no seatbelt in the car what kind ekse….queeeensburgh represent
And they drinking and driving, love it haha
First of all. What do vit ous know about bunnies
Trust me, a lot. I should know, my wife who's white, schools me sometimes. And I grew up on Coconut Grove mutton bunnies in the 90's....
WHY NO MUTTON BUNNY
THE BEST
We're vegan so it's beans for us 😀
Seriously though, what's with the weird soundtrack?? Literally NO Indian person in Durban listens to music like that. Do you want Indian people to take you seriously or not??
I liked the music.
Yeah ive tried so many bunny chow spots . In Durban but Goundens is the best for me
