    Nice review, I also like that the Abound is UL certified, this is important to me as I live in a Condo.

      Thank you for watching & for the note. You're absolutely correct about the UL certified battery and how big of a deal it is. It provides assurance and confidence in the battery safety of the Abound & Aventon.

    Is that the Thule Yepp Maxi, or the Thule Yepp Nexxt Maxi?

      It's the Thule Yepp Maxi. Here is an article we wrote with more details on child seats top5ebikes.com/child-seats-for-ebikes/

    i have the Aventon Abound as well and I also love it. I also tow a trailer the Trailer I pull is a Schwinn Joyrider. and I was able to mount the hitch on the bike and then bolt the foot rest back on. I'm not exactly sure how your mount works but I had enough clearance on the bracket.

    Abound is $2000 base now. No thanks. Lectric Xpedition is a better option at 1699 or 1399 single battery.

    How’d that cap and ride trip go? How’d your battery do?

    • @Top5ebikes
      @Top5ebikes  6 місяців тому

      It went well! I ended up only riding 30 miles each way to make sure i'd make it. On the way there I was loaded (not sure how much weight but probab 200 lbs) and used either ECO or no pedal assist for most of the ride. I arrived at the campsite with 60% of the battery left.
      With so much weight I was carrying, it was difficult to handle but I didn't have a difficult road to the campsite.

    Great video. Is there something you have to purchase to connect the Thule seat and Qibbel seat? Or do they connect directly to the included cargo rack? Also is there a way to purchase the Qibbel seat in the US?
    Also to mention, there is a Reddit page (lost track of it but will repost when i find it) where people are talking about not being able to configure the bike the way you did (Thule seat in back and toddler padded seat in front). Clearly you found a great solution. Might be worth while for you to chirp in on that thread and show them your video or i can add you video link once i find the page. Thanks again!

      Thank you!
      The Thule seat is installed directly into the rear rack (no adaptors needed) and the Qibbel clamps on directly to the rear rack as well.
      The seat pad that Aventon sell doesn't fit with a Thule seat bc it's one long piece but I used the back rest piece bc it's big enough to be used as a seat pad. Is the reddit page, the Aventon subreddit?

    I have this bike and I’ve been looking into the yepp seat…but I’m wondering if I would be able to squeeze two yepp? It looks like it’s possible but idk.

      Hi Liz and thank you for the question.
      I personally use one Yepp Maxi and one Qibbel seat or a seat pad.
      I have not tried it but I've read threads where people have added two Yepp Maxi's but they only fit without the handrail (not ideal). I did see a picture of someone having two Bellelli seats on there amzn.to/3NpukCG

    Hi We just got the Aventon abound and I love the bike, however I'm having trouble figuring out seating for my 7 year old. I also have a qibbel bike seat that we used on my old bike. However I can't seem to get it on the Aventon rack which seems to be just a bit too wide. Did you do anything different? Or do you know if they changed the rack size with recent models? It's frustrating as there doesn't seem to be a good seat option without using the railing bars. Thanks for you help or any other ideas you may have! k

    • @Top5ebikes
      @Top5ebikes  5 місяців тому

      I'm sorry to hear you're having issues w the Qibbel. From their documentation it looks like there are two size seats (21-27 mm & 16-21mm). The one I bought works perfectly on the rear rack of the Abound (hollandbikeshop.com/en-gb/children-s-bike-seat/qibbel-bicycle-seat/qibbel-junior-6/qibbel-junior-6-bicycle-childseat-complete-gray-light-gra/).
      If it's not fitting on your rear rack, you may want to consider one of these cushioned seats with a seat back amzn.to/4aACHF5
      My almost 6 year old now prefers to sit in burley trailer we have 🤷

    Thanks for the review. What car hitch do you use? Have you tried to put 2 cargo bikes on a car hitch/rack? Appreciate your advice, thanks!

    • @Top5ebikes

      Hi and thank you for watching. I've put two cargo ebikes on a rack (I use the Hollywood Sports Rider and we bought it from Electric Bike Company alnk.to/dLgayRC ) but you can't have the handrails/caboose on them if you want to load them on a bike rack at the same time...also, hitch wise these use a 2" hitch.

    This bike would be even more awesome if the wheel size was 24" rather than a 20": Clearance of pedals to ground concern among 20" e-bikes.

      i agree sometimes i do feel to close to the ground but having those extra couple inches helps a lot with my kids climbing in and out of the bike

    You mentioned wobbly feel with weight. I have noticed a bunch of written reviews by users that mentioned this problem. It's a serious issue if a cargo bike gets wobbly with weight. Can you please say more about this? Is it fixable? Otherwise I consider that a showstopper.

    • @Top5ebikes
      @Top5ebikes  10 місяців тому

      I'm my experience, the wobbliness happened with high amounts of weight (a teenager and small child in the rear rack) and when I went camping (had a full yeti on the rear rack and was pulling a trailer w more weight). When riding w my two younger daughters, I haven't dealt w wobbliness that concerns me. Some light wobbliness which has led me to tighten the stem...I hope this helps

    • @christianbeaupre7989
      @christianbeaupre7989 8 місяців тому

      Hey, long time rider here, fan of the channel, to fix the wobble you can install some swept back bars, maybe 30-35 degrees. That should go a long way to changing the handling. Additionally, consider a stem shock/dampener. That would help as well.

    My Abound has been great so far but it’s begun making a whining noise lately. Have you observed that as well? I have a short video of it up on my channel if you’re curious.

      hmmm. I have not. You sure it's not friction between the brake caliper & the wheel? If it's not friction, I'd try hitting up Aventon support.
