    Just purchased on June 20th, 2024, I worked for 2 days and have stopped working, Customer Support has not been helpful, and has been unresponsive. They thought it was the controller, ordered it, on July 6th, and as of July 9th it has not been sent out yet. And I have to take the bike apart and fix it. I called a service center (the closest was 2 hours away) and they felt it was the motor. They have not been helpful, as it is so big, I can't transport it and would have to hire a van and drive 2 hours each way to get it to a service center. So, if anything goes wrong with the bike as in my situation, and you're not close to a service center nor have a vehicle large enough to transport this bike, as of the date of this writing, you are screwed. And good luck speaking with someone with authority to make decisions.

    I love this bike, it does 40-50 miles depending on gear and assist level. Mine goes uphill really good on a steep overpass at level 3 assist at 17 mph, I didn’t want to attempt that steepness but had to find out if it can and it did. The kick stand is great in my experience and I really like it. My only con on this bike is the Alan key wheel release vs the quick release like on my MTB and road bike, but that’s only because I prefer to transport it inside my suv with the front wheel off for space so it can stand vs laying down. Great video. I was worried since they were discontinuing it I asked REI and their customer service said if we ever need a battery replacement or extra battery we can purchase it from bafang website.

      The Globe Haul looks like a great ebike. I'd say if you're willing to spend $3500 or so on the Globe Haul LT, you should also look into a Tern GSD(this to me if my fav. cargo ebike) even though it's about $4500 +. Thanks for the comment! Maybe one day I can get my hands on the Globe Haul!

      I'm 5-11 which for my height it's comfortable....the frame itself isn't big but you can adjust the handle bars to have a better for your height. I think it should be fine for your height but If you're close to an REI, I'd go in & test ride it. Btw I've seen people taller than you (maybe 6-5) riding this ebike and it didn't seem comfortable.

  • @lilliputlittle
    @lilliputlittle 2 місяці тому

    I just decided on which one. Purchasing an e-bike hadn't really crossed my mind until the past few months and having some good experience with rentals. I went to the big local bike shop to inquire about the Aventon A2 and left with a receipt for a Troxus Lynx Plus. The 20" tires were a much better fit for me in regard to size. I'm a middle-aged woman who is not tiny (5'4", 138 lbs, short legs) but I do have physical limitations that make me want/need to feel closer to the ground. Lectric (which I've ridden a few times as rentals) are just too big for me - I don't like them. I've read so many positive reviews about the Aventon Adventure 2 and the two frame sizes seems like a no-brainer. But the shop owner, who is also an authorized Aventon service provider, shared with me that Aventon has been less responsive to repairs for some time now. They'll have bikes waiting weeks for replacement parts and Aventon doesn't respond to their queries. Assistance and part orders are "falling through cracks" as one of the techs said. The owner said that considering the bike that I was interested in was similar in build and style to Troxus that I should consider that brand. He has a good rapport with Troxus and considering the fact that I don't know a thing about maintaining e-bikes - having a repair shop that knows what it is doing and can actually get what it needs from the company whose bikes they sell/maintain is kind of important. Bonus - I've never ridden an e-bike with a torque sensor. The newer versions of Troxus bikes are offering the ability to switch between torque and cadence. I'm rather excited to try that out :) ETA: There were no sales going on in the store. I don't think independent dealers operate that way. Both bikes - the Aventon Adventure 2 and the Troxus Lynx Plus were offered at the exact same price ($1999).

    I bought an Aventon Aventure 2 a little more than a month ago. It performs well on flat land or in the foothills. I took my bike up to the 3,000 foot elevation level in the mountains and climbed a paved mountain road for 8 miles. I burned the motor up on Eco mode. I had to coast or peddle my bike non-assist 8 miles back to my car. This bike is not made for steep hill climbing. My friend’s $600.00 Walmart brand Hyper 250 watt mid-drive motor e-bike out performed mine on the hill climb. It was a pretty embarrassing moment as my bike cost a lot more. The Aventure 2 cannot perform the way it is being advertised. I only had 67 miles on my bike when I burned the motor up. I had to take it back to the bike store to get a new hub motor. Good thing it’s under warranty.

    Just ordered a Adventure 2. Will be riding forest dirt roads and a few single track between road sections. 6,500 elevation and up with some steep grades. Probably, based on the past, only be riding 15 to 30 miles and around 10 to 20 mph. Already have a Giant full suspension E-bike with torque sensor and like it. Have sold my Yamaha XT-250 which was 300 pounds wet and now that I am 86 not as strong as I once was. So between the new Aventon with a throttle, dual sport substitute, and the Giant I am in good shape and can easily lift either. Once the snow is gone from the trails ready to hit the dirt. Very good review.

    been eyeing between this since it looks really simple and is cheap. having it be from REI is nice. I already own an ebike (zizzo eforte) but it only has an 18mi range according to zizzo. the 40-50mi advertised by REI on the e1.2 sounds nice. Also was looking at an Aventon Abound or Globe Haul LT so I can take a passenger (girlfriend). But I guess she could just ride my eforte or the new bike. (or Tern GSD... if I had the money 😭)

    • @Top5ebikes
      @Top5ebikes 3 місяці тому

      the e1.2 is good affordable option if you don't care about the lack of a throttle and suspension. I've loved riding it around town. If you're going w a cargo bike, the Abound is a good affordable option but if you're willing to spend a bit more & don't care about the short rear rack, the Globe Haul is a good option. I've only ridden the Abound and I like it. My main issue w it is the wobbling handlebars if you're carrying a ton of weight (200+ lbs).

    Hi We just got the Aventon abound and I love the bike, however I'm having trouble figuring out seating for my 7 year old. I also have a qibbel bike seat that we used on my old bike. However I can't seem to get it on the Aventon rack which seems to be just a bit too wide. Did you do anything different? Or do you know if they changed the rack size with recent models? It's frustrating as there doesn't seem to be a good seat option without using the railing bars. Thanks for you help or any other ideas you may have! k

    • @Top5ebikes
      @Top5ebikes 3 місяці тому

      I'm sorry to hear you're having issues w the Qibbel. From their documentation it looks like there are two size seats (21-27 mm & 16-21mm). The one I bought works perfectly on the rear rack of the Abound (hollandbikeshop.com/en-gb/children-s-bike-seat/qibbel-bicycle-seat/qibbel-junior-6/qibbel-junior-6-bicycle-childseat-complete-gray-light-gra/). If it's not fitting on your rear rack, you may want to consider one of these cushioned seats with a seat back amzn.to/4aACHF5 My almost 6 year old now prefers to sit in burley trailer we have 🤷

    I have replaced almost everything on this. I have been driving daily in Stockholm Sweden for two years. The snow and sub-zero temperatures are torture for this bike. I have changed the entire drive train, cassette, and chain basically every season (three times now). I replaced the breaks with hydraulic, the tires for all weather tires. I have also replaced a bunch of the electronics. The cold has frozen and cracked a lot of the connectors and I have had to replace basically all contacts. It is a very difficult bike to own (as any bike would be) in these kind of weather conditions.
