I used to bring tiny shots of Jameson into NAMM in my bag. Many a toasty time was partaken. It made running a a booth more moar fun. Social anxiety was virtually eliminated. I remember the guys from WMDevices were openly drinking Coors Banquets in their booth. Such a great brand. It's a shame they are no more.

I had one of those when the boost footswitch died on my 6 month old FD II FM about 25 years ago.
I took a deep breath and applied many years' experience dealing with "difficult customers", waited a couple of days and went back in again with a different approach from another email address.
Second time he was nice as pie. Told me they'd had a lousy batch of switches and sent me two replacements.
The second footswitch died about five years ago :)
Glad to see the used prices came down on Reverb. The Univibes are magic too.
Will they bring back the tube tape echo (or at least replacement tape cartridges)?

From what I know about the two brands is the Jackson 1484 is freaking awesome and plim soul mk2 is freaking awesome , I think it's cool they will be working together

I think Mike needs to take a little more responsibility or ownership than just pretending he gets stressed on some days- he is consistently one of the biggest pricks you will ever meet. He was so bad it literally shut his business down- even though he makes some of the best pedals on the market. You gotta be a real prick to make ppl be like "I don't care how good his pedal sounds; he can go to h3ll." but Mike had that effect on just about everyone I ever saw interact with him. My boss was a youth minister- owned a Christian bookstore that was really a music shop- it's the same shop Josh from JHS pedals used to manage- and even he got into it with Mike. he was one of the nicest, most soft spoken, humble ppl I ever met- and within 15 minutes Mike had him cursing and spitting mad, swearing he would never sell a Fulltone product or allow one in his shop.
Yep. Some people may not realise that this isn't something that just came from some social media comments. Before social media even existed, he had form as having the worst and rudest customer service in the business. He was extremely disrespectful to me on two separate occasions in the early 2000's at a point where I had a pedalboard that was full of Fulltone products. I'm not buying the excuses either. In the end given all the great options on the market these days I just decided I'd rather give my consumer dollars to people I really like.
But Josh Scott has publicly made clear how much he enjoys fulltone and spoke at length on their gear and closing?

@@user-by6eb6zo7g Josh didn't work there at the time- I'm quite a bit older than Josh. It was the owner of the shop who got into it with him. And actually, I didn't work there either when it happened- I had already left and just happened to be in the store that day.
Not to be too guessy about his personal life, but it's reasonable to assume he's got some emotional issues. In this day in age, businesspeople understand that you have a private persona and a public-facing persona, and while the latter can utilize the former, the former should never come at expense of the latter in the realm of business. So while there are personal things more important than business, he screwed up his personal life over business. At least this guy in the video related that Fuller is knowledgeable about what he's bad at -- customer service. Yikes, one of the all-time worst at that, lol. Now, if only they can work at the fonts on the pedals a bit...nothing crazy. Just a slight change to take it from 90s Microsoft Word fonts to the modern era!

I just got my first Fulltone OCD. Exceptional overdrive. Happy to see this new venture.
The OCD is iconic! It can be used so many ways. It is very versatile. I've used as a heavier gain pedal or as like a tube screamer boosting a klon clone. It rocks no matter what you throw at it.
Is it populated with SMD or Through-Hole components?
Love my Fulltone pedals, especially the Supa Trem and Wah

RJ Ronquillo, for example who is a smart, nice guy, whom I respect was so offended that he did a UA-cam post indicating where you could get competing products for all of the things that fulltone sells. so trying to re-engineer this like it was one, wrong word it’s just insane. Fuller shut down over it to back his own views to the hilt. no apology, no course correction.

I'm just glad Fulltone was picked up by a company that I'm ok leaving out of my store stock as well. Supporting subhumans like Mike Fuller just to snag a recognizable logo on an overhyped OD pedal is a decision that's going to bite Jackson in the ass far sooner than they think. You don't even have to hate Mike for his rants to get it; he's anti-customer and a huge egomaniacal baby. His rotten politics are just icing on the shit cake, and now Jackson's mix is tainted with it.

Ive not liked fulltone for years... the owner has screwed over the very small mom and pop shops in my area. Unless you are some bigger dealer helping out the small people that helped build his brand in the early days was very low on his priority list once the guitar centers of the world picked him up.

Imagine if every businessman never prospered because they cared to much about these local shops you speak of. Do you shop at amazon? Don't sweat the naysayers, Fulltone is one of the best pedal builders in the business. They have a dozen classics and for good reason. And always made in the U.S.A.
The designs are great, that’s never been the issue.

My local guitar store owner stopped doing business with Fuller years ago when he met Fuller at NAMM and Fuller got angry with him over something and threatened to bash his brains in with a hammer. He's well known to be an asshole in general, even when he's not going on right wing rants.

The whole point is that it doesn't matter what happened in truth or not, the fact is that Fulltone has become something people run away from, look at the reactions around this. Picking up the people and everything is awesome.. just do it under another name, and drop the hint that your drive pedal is very OCD-like for example. Let people (re)judge it again on the products, and all will be good. In the end, the products is what made the name respectful once
Most everyone agrees that Mike Fuller is a jerk. But people used a false narrative to try and destroy him and his company. There are lots of people in this industry I would not want to hang out with, but if they make great gear, I don't care.

That includes what you say, how you present yourself, your customer service, how you treat your employees, and your willingness to press through difficult times. Love it. Glad he’s back. I bought a custom shop OCD AFTER the 💩hit the fan and before he “retired” , and I havnt shopped at Guitar Center since they made the stupid decision to stop selling Fulltone. ( I actually bought the same custom shop OCD from guitar center during this time period and they refused to ship the pedal after I had paid for it. I dunno what they did with all the fulltone stock they had. 🖕🏼them though)

Mike's issues started long before that social media rant. I had a two separate interactions with him on the phone that turned me off his stuff at a point where my board was full of Fulltone products. The interactions were actually a couple of years apart & I'll give anyone a second chance, but he was particularly rude. It was well beyond the having a bad day being a bit snappy level. Mike definitely has good ears but there are a lot of great options these days & I'd rather give my consumer dollars to people I respect.
